Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the home.
We currently have a welcome offer available for new residents funding their own care at Ashwood Care Centre. The offer includes free hairdresser/barber services, chiropody, daily newspaper of your choice and a toiletry gift set on arrival.

Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

My husband went to respite at Christmas for 9 days. He wasn't helped in shower (use to having carer at home, staff were told when he arrived) clothes not changed. Only 4 overnight incontinent pants were used for 9 nights!! Christmas Day after telling them we would pick him up at 3.30pm & new trousers
were in the wardrobe for him to wear. He was in bed in scruffy track suit trousers. Our son not very happy when we went to collect on 27 Dec in bed in p.js, at 10am.

My mother thoroughly enjoyed her stay at Ashwood Care Centre. She was well cared for an enjoyed conversing with the staff and would definitely use the service again to provide her carer and son with some respite.

My dad currently lives at Ashwood since October 2024. In the short time he has been there I and my sister have always been impressed by the friendliness, care, support of Ashwood to my dads needs. We always feel welcomed & spoken to & all the staff know all the residents names. I feel happy in the
knowledge that he is safe, comfortable, considered & is treated with respect, kindness & above all patience.

My husband was resident in Ashwood Care Centre for almost two years. He had been diagnosed with dementia following a fall, but personally I saw few signs of increasing dementia, however, owing to his (and my) age and mobility I could not have cared for him at home.

Ashwood Care Centre is a very friendly and well-run home. The grounds are beautiful and the home is very well maintained. The staff are very approachable and always address Mum by name. There is an excellent range of activities provided for residents throughout the year. The staff and management are
very responsive to us as a family and do all they can to support Mum's care needs. The home has a family feel to it, led from the top. All staff are kind and caring.

My mother became a resident in April 2024 and we have found the care very good. The staff are friendly and understanding. She enjoys her meals with other residents. There are lots of activities to join in if she wishes. I visit 3 or 4 times a week and am made to feel very welcome. I feel much happier
that she is safe and being looked after.

Such wonderful care for my dad who was in the Dementia Unit. They were very efficient, so kind and caring looking after his every need and providing a safe place for him.


The care home manager was above and beyond. We can never thank them enough for how they cared for Dad.

This was the only care centre I viewed for my father. I instantly felt at home and knew it was the right place for my father's needs. All the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. I have attended activities for the residents, they are well-organised and give the residents
lots of fun. The residents are always well-presented and clean. The home is always very clean, to a high standard.

Mum's care was excellent during the two weeks of respite she spent at Ashwood. She became calmer, happier and her smiling face returned which played a huge part in my brother and myself making the decision that mum would have a better quality of life residing at Ashwood permanently.

I enjoyed my visit to Ashwood today not least because my cousin seemed much more relaxed than on my last visit. I was greeted with tea and biscuits which we had in her room and then went for a walk round the garden (we both like the fresh air!) after stopping for a coffee in the little cafe area - one
of many places to sit which can make Ashwood feel like a home from home.
I can't comment on the value for money at Ashwood as I have no involvement with he finance involved but it seems to be a very friendly place to live where the staff are obviously dedicated to careful treatment of the residents.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care my mother has received since entering Ashwood Care Centre. The staff are excellent. My mother has nothing but praise for the way they look after her. Nothing is too much trouble. Being 93 she is treated with respect by everyone. Living out the area I feel confident
she is safe, warm, clean and well fed. Thank you so much.

My aunt went into Ashwood a year ago and the family have been impressed. The carers are kind and attentive to patients and they have time to talk over any concerns. We have found Ashwood all around excellent.

Excellent care home. Our father is really well looked after by dedicated and kind staff. The carers are understanding, bring in a sense of fun and joy and at the same time, real compassion. We don’t live close by but they also always take the time to chat with us by phone if we aren’t able to visit.
Makes a huge difference.
As a care home set-up, it’s also spacious indoors and out with some great areas to sit down on visits or walk around and a sense of community for all the residents.

When you trust a care centre to look after your loved one, you want the staff to care for them but also to go that extra mile to make life feel secure and homely. The standard of care and compassion is incredible. My family has been going through a very hard time with the loss of a family member. OSJCT Ashwood could not do enough to assist our family. My family and I are so grateful that when I could no longer care properly for my husband, Ashwood accepted him (believing at the time that he was in a more challenging state than he turned out to be). We are so very grateful for the respectful and loving care that he gets. Our minds are easy that he

Pauline

Pauline Colman-Holland

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2015

Pauline grew up in Bradford-on-Avon, she left home to do her Nurse training and has spent over 40 years as a nurse, gaining a life time of experience which has built the foundations of her growing and changing profession. She is a strong believer in training and motivating staff, to bring out the best in them and what they do, giving them the confidence to strive for more.
Pauline joined OSJCT Ashwood in 2015, as the Deputy Manager, and has enjoyed helping to build and support the home to where it is today. In 2018 she took on the role of Home Manager “For me Ashwood is like a large family. There is great warmth amongst the residents, staff and families.”

Cheryl

Cheryl Bligdon

Job Title: Bursar Joined: 2014

Cheryl has worked at Ashwood Care Centre since 2014, initially as Administrator before she was promoted to Bursar in 2017.


Cheryl says: ‘I love working at Ashwood as I love spending time with the residents and being able to support their relatives/loved ones through their care journey. Ashwood is my work family and the team I work with and the residents is why I have been with OJSCT since 2014’.

Melanie

Melanie Hull

Job Title: Head of Dementia Care Joined: 2014

Mel has been with OSJCT since 2004, initially working at Fives Court until she left in 2009 to have her children.


Two children later, Mel returned to the Trust in 2014 as a carer and has been with OSJCT ever since, working her way up the ranks to her current position a Head of Dementia Care.


Mel says that she loves working with people living with dementia as ‘they brighten up my life and I find my role really rewarding. I enjoy working at Ashwood Care Centre as the team are like an extended family to me’.

Beverley Shaw

Job Title: Administration Assistant Joined: 2018

Prior to joining OSJCT Bev worked as an Estate Agent in Colchester. Bev decided to move to Warminster to be nearer to her mother and 6 siblings.


Bev started working at Ashwood in August 2018 as an Administration Assistant. Bev chose to work at Ashwood Care Centre as she had previously worked as a Housing Manager in Sheltered Housing and wanted to return to the sector.

What I really enjoy about working at Ashwood is the diversity it offers me; one day I am in reception, and the next day I can be providing resident care or be working in the kitchen or supporting residents with activities. Mat joined Ashwood Care Centre as the Handy Person in February 2025, having previously worked in the military as a Warrant Officer Class 1 for 25 years.
