Ashwood Care Centre

On entering the home my mother was verbally most unpleasant. She was so angry at being "dumped". This lasted a couple of months. My mother presents herself as being compos mentis but sadly her type of dementia prevents her from knowing what day it is and where her room is. The staff at times forget this! The carers and activity staff have been amazing. They have "turned" my mother around. She is now clean, well-fed and interested in life again. She involves herself totally with all activities. And loves it! Thanks to all the staff!

I find Ashwood Care Centre very good. I look after 2 residents welfare. Whenever there is an issue I can discuss this with management or assigned carer and the problem is rectified asap.

Wonderful setting, staff fabulous, very kind and understanding, always cheerful and helpful. Could not wish for a better home for my mother.

This was a respite stay but couldn't fault anything from what I saw and I visited most days.

His last few days were made so comfortable by the loving kindness of all staff both to him and my brother and myself.

My mother sadly passed away in April. The care staff showed great compassion and treated her with the utmost dignity at all times and I will always be grateful to them all. They are a fabulous team.

I just want to thank all the staff for their hard work looking after Mum. Mum has been living at Ashwood Care Centre for about two years and I visit quite regularly and always find Mum well looked after, well fed and always happy. I would recommend Ashwood Care Centre to anyone. Thanks again.

I live at Ashwood and I am very happy here. I moved here when I could no longer manage on my own and I was very lonely. I love living at Ashwood and it is now my home as I have many friends here.

I visit Ashwood on a regular basis and always find a very happy and relaxed environment. Visitors are always made to feel welcome and I love to sit in their coffee shop where I can serve myself and my relative to latte and a slice of fresh homemade cake. I also like to see that visitors can bring their dogs along, this always brings a smile to the resident's faces.

My relative has been cared for by Ashwood for nearly three years now, we have always found him to be very well looked after and, therefore, he is always in high spirits and very happy.

He gets on very well with the other residents and has even found himself a 'girlfriend'. The management were very happy to provide an additional chair for his room enabling them to be constant companions - they are usually together from 8 am 'till 8 pm EVERY day - with only an occasional disagreement over the TV, sounds quite normal! We are very happy with this as it enhances his life, his friend is now part of our family too and comes on all our trips out whenever possible.

Friends and relatives are always made to feel very welcome, today the Manager hosted a BBQ which all relatives and friends were invited to share, this was very successful and very much appreciated by my Uncle and our family.

We are here now and I have accepted this is now my home but although my husband is content, he will never accept it I fear. Thank you for the help and kindness.

Since my Nan has been in Ashwood care home, the staff have been lovely and helpful. They seem to spend their time ensuring she is happy. The facilities are great. I am able to go in and do my Nan's hair and nails. I used to do this at home for her. The grounds are lovely to go out and sit in too.

The management treat me as a colleague and supporter, taking my concerns and requests seriously. The care centre is always clean and fresh and I'm greeted with smiles.

Ashwood Care Centre provides a clean, comfortable and caring environment for my mother. The staff have always been attentive and caring towards my mother and informative towards me. I feel I have the full support of the staff at Ashwood, making sure my mother is happy, comfortable and well cared for. The home provides daily activities if anyone wants to join. I feel at all times the Centre has my mothers best interest.

I have found all the staff professional, happy and inviting and my mother has said so too. The care and support I would say is second to none.

Having tried most of the local care homes with another relative, eventually ending up at Ashwood, I had no hesitation in recommending it for my mother when the need arose.

My brother has been a resident in Ashwood Care Centre for the past four years suffering from Parkinson's. The care he received was of the highest standard. The last few weeks he was very ill and we as a family wanted him to remain in Ashwood as he knew the staff. This was the best thing we did as the care and support he received was outstanding. The carers treated him with dignity and love and care was also given to the family. All the staff at Ashwood give more than 100% care.

My mother has been at the Ashwood Care Centre for approx one month and has settled in very well, largely due to the kindness, respect, helpfulness and humour of the staff there. The home with its many facilities and delightful garden have proved to be an excellent choice for my mother.
