Staff very friendly and welcoming. Also seemed to be a good ratio of staff to residents.
Lovely rooms and everything bright and clean.

This was a respite stay but couldn't fault anything from what I saw and I visited most days.

The staff at Ashwood Care Centre cared for my father who was suffering from dementia for approx 2 years until his death on 1st March 2019. The home offered safety and security and he was treated in a professional manner with kindness and dignity during his time at the home.

His last few days were made so comfortable by the loving kindness of all staff both to him and my brother and myself.

I just want to thank all the staff for their hard work looking after Mum. Mum has been living at Ashwood Care Centre for about two years and I visit quite regularly and always find Mum well looked after, well fed and always happy. I would recommend Ashwood Care Centre to anyone. Thanks again.

I live at Ashwood and I am very happy here. I moved here when I could no longer manage on my own and I was very lonely. I love living at Ashwood and it is now my home as I have many friends here.

I visit Ashwood on a regular basis and always find a very happy and relaxed environment. Visitors are always made to feel welcome and I love to sit in their coffee shop where I can serve myself and my relative to latte and a slice of fresh homemade cake. I also like to see that visitors can bring their dogs along, this always brings a smile to the resident's faces.

My relative has been cared for by Ashwood for nearly three years now, we have always found him to be very well looked after and, therefore, he is always in high spirits and very happy.

He gets on very well with the other residents and has even found himself a 'girlfriend'. The management were very happy to provide an additional chair for his room enabling them to be constant companions - they are usually together from 8 am 'till 8 pm EVERY day - with only an occasional disagreement over the TV, sounds quite normal! We are very happy with this as it enhances his life, his friend is now part of our family too and comes on all our trips out whenever possible.

We definitely recommend this home for your relative too

My uncle has lived at Ashwood for the past 2 and 1/2 years, his room seems to be larger than ones available in the other homes we looked at, enabling him to bring a number of pieces of his own furniture with him, he is very happy there and considers it to be his home. I consider him to be very well looked after, which gives us great peace of mind. His room and bathroom are always clean and tidy, his laundry is also looked after on a daily basis.
The carers are always very attentive and go out of their way to ensure the residents are comfortable and well looked after. There are regular activities and entertainment, including pottery - uncle has made many lovely items.

Friends and relatives are always made to feel very welcome, today the Manager hosted a BBQ which all relatives and friends were invited to share, this was very successful and very much appreciated by my Uncle and our family.

On January 4th, I was blown over by a gale in a local car park. After 11 days in hospital with a fractured pelvis, I returned home as I was a carer for my husband who had Alzheimers. He came to this Ashwood Home for respite and has never returned home.
I went to another home for one week waiting for a room on the 1st floor at Ashwood and my husband in on the ground floor.

We are here now and I have accepted this is now my home but although my husband is content, he will never accept it I fear. Thank you for the help and kindness.

Since my Nan has been in Ashwood care home, the staff have been lovely and helpful. They seem to spend their time ensuring she is happy. The facilities are great. I am able to go in and do my Nan's hair and nails. I used to do this at home for her. The grounds are lovely to go out and sit in too.

My mother has been at Ashwood Care Centre for almost three years and I recommend them unreservedly. My mother has been happy and contented since she moved in and has herself praised the staff and the care given, on numerous occasions.
The Care Centre is purpose built and this really shows in the well-planned layout, the good sized rooms and the homely feel.

I have found all the staff professional, happy and inviting and my mother has said so too. The care and support I would say is second to none.

Excellent purpose built facility. Light and airy with wide corridors and plenty of various sized social areas. Good parking and reasonable access to town centre. Staff are pleasant and attentive, always seem to find time for extra personal attention when required. There seems to be a good range of activities, both provided in-house and externally sourced, such as singers and entertainers, animal visits, shopping opportunities brought in, big board scrabble and quizzes.
Each residential unit has a kitchen area where drinks and snacks are always available.
Visitors are made to feel welcome at almost any time.

Having tried most of the local care homes with another relative, eventually ending up at Ashwood, I had no hesitation in recommending it for my mother when the need arose.

My brother has been a resident in Ashwood Care Centre for the past four years suffering from Parkinson's. The care he received was of the highest standard. The last few weeks he was very ill and we as a family wanted him to remain in Ashwood as he knew the staff. This was the best thing we did as the care and support he received was outstanding. The carers treated him with dignity and love and care was also given to the family. All the staff at Ashwood give more than 100% care.
