Larkrise

from Paula R (Wife of Resident) published on 26 May 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Since my husband went into Larkrise in March 2026 the whole team from the managers to the excellent dedicated team on the dementia specialist unit have been so welcoming, understanding, supportive and caring to both myself and my husband. From the outset I felt confident that my husband was in good
hands. The unit is very light and airy with plenty of space for residents to walk around with small individual lounges, a lovely dining room overlooking the secure garden and a club room for activities and he has his own large ensuite bedroom. Due to the excellent care, the care staff's knowledge of dementia and their intervention skills, my husband soon settled and he is responding well to the social stimulation, engagement with staff and joining in with the excellent programme of activities. He is noticeably calmer and happier. I am so comforted to know he is so well cared for. Thank you to everyone at Larkrise for the excellent person centred care you provide.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at LarkriseThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We're really pleased to hear that you've felt supported and reassured from the very beginning, and that your husband has settled so well here at Larkrise Care Centre. It's wonderful to hear how positively he's responding to the care, social stimulation, and activities, and that he is now calmer and happier. We're especially glad that the environment and the team's understanding of dementia have made such a difference for both of you. Your kind words mean a great deal to everyone here and will be shared with the whole team. Thank you once again, our review has made our day.

Mum moved to Wellford Gardens in January this year after several months of being in and out of hospital. She has settled well, the staff are very caring. The best thing is how much better she is physically and mentally, her walking has improved and she is much more independent. Beautiful room, lovely
facilities and so nice for us being able to have a meal or a drink with her. We feel part of the Wellford Community. Thank you!
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Wellford GardensThank you so much for your lovely review. It means a great deal to know that our team's care and support have helped her regain confidence and independence. We are also pleased that you and your family feel welcomed as part of the Wellford community and can enjoy spending quality time together here. The Meadows

from T C (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 May 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has been a resident of the meadows for just under 2 years. The past year I would say she feels settled and safe and is vey happy. It took her a while to settle in because she missed her home, but all the staff made her feel very welcome and made the process easier. Mum enjoys the activities
and its good to see her joining in and laughing and chatting to everyone. She was struggling at meals times, but the staff have done everything they can to help her enjoy her meals. The Meadows is very clean and well maintained and if I have any concerns I can talk to someone and I'm reassured that they will handle any concerns I have.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at The MeadowsThank you so much for your thoughtful feedback. We're really pleased to hear that your mum is now settled, safe, and happy at The Meadows, especially after what was clearly a difficult adjustment at the beginning. It's lovely to know she's enjoying the activities, joining in with others, and that staff have been able to support her with meals and make her feel more comfortable. We're also really glad you feel reassured and listened to whenever you have any concerns - that ongoing communication is so important to us.

My Dad came to Westgate House for emergency respite (never had respite or a stay at any care home). Originally for 7 days but that was extended for a further 10 days. The whole team are amazing! For the first time in 5 years since my mum died, my dad's mood has been lifted! From the kitchen staff to
the manager, everyone is so nice. We, as a family, felt very welcome. My dad has no complaints, not even one. He is looking forward to hopefully having some further respite. A very special heartfelt thank you to Rose, who supported me from the first phone call. I will forever be grateful to all of you!
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Westgate HouseThank you so much for your lovely 5-star review of our home, it really has put a smile on all our faces. Chilterns Court Care Centre

from S W (Husband of Resident) published on 22 May 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife Erica was admitted with advanced Alzheimer's. We had reveiwed 5 other care homes and Chilterns Court came out top. There was an immediate atmosphere of caring and compassion. She has been looked after with care and settled in very quickly. We had concerns that she would want to come home but
this never surfaced. The staff, without fail, have performed their duties well. Our concerns that she was spending too much time in a wheelchair were addressed and a programme of repositioning started to avoid bed sores.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Chilterns Court Care CentreThank you so much for sharing your experience. We're really glad to hear that Chilterns Court felt right from the start and that your wife settled in so quickly - that means a lot, especially knowing how many homes you had looked at beforehand. It's lovely to hear how supported she's been by the team and that any worries you had were listened to and acted on straight away. Knowing she's comfortable, well cared for and content is exactly what we hope for. Thank you again for your trust and for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback - it really does mean a great deal to everyone here.

provided, and the same level of care shown to us. It is a wonderful home and I highly recommend it.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Marston CourtThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. We are deeply sorry for your loss and are truly honoured that we were able to care for your husband during his time with us. It means a great deal to hear that he was supported with such kindness, encouragement and compassion, and that he was able to enjoy a fulfilling life with us. We're also very touched to know that your family felt welcomed, supported and involved throughout, and that the care extended to you as well. Your kind words will be shared with the whole team as a reminder of the importance of the care they provide every day. Thank you again for your trust and for such a thoughtful recommendation.

My father in law has been in The Meadows for almost five months now. He has settled in well. We can see how clean he is, how well he looks. He can be quite rude due to his dementia but Ruth and the staff are very good with him. Sorry I had to say Ruths name as she goes above and beyond for all the residence.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at The MeadowsThank you so much for your lovely review of our home, it's so appreciated.
