Recently my grandad has needed to go into care for his dementia. The staff at Wellford Gardens are amazing. The are kind and caring and always have his best interest at heart. This weekend we joined him for a meal on Father's Day. They made every part of the meal feel very special. He thoroughly enjoyed
himself and is happy in their care.

Stirlings

from Nick M (Son of Resident) published on 19 June 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mother of 98 years was looked after for 10 months. She moved care homes when a bed became available in a care home nearer to her previous permanent home and many friends. The managers and staff at Stirlings were excellent. A huge effort was put into caring and entertainment. My mother took up knitting
again! Unfortunately, the facilities do not match the care level. There are no ensuite toilets and some rooms are rather small. There is, however, a wonderful big garden which is well cared for.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at StirlingsThank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughtful review and for entrusting us with your mother's care during her time at Stirlings.

We are delighted to hear that your mother was well supported by our managers and staff, and that she enjoyed the activities and entertainment on offer - especially rediscovering her love of knitting. It is always rewarding to know that our team's dedication has made a positive difference. We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the facilities. While some aspects of the building reflect its heritage, we are pleased that the garden was a highlight and provided a welcoming, well-maintained space for residents to enjoy.

Thank you again for your kind words and valuable comments. We wish your mother all the very best in her new home and hope she continues to thrive.

It was with regret that I had to put my Mum into care but Hillary made things easy and the staff are very welcoming Mum didn't really want to be there and I would think at times would have been a hand full but they all said she was a lovely person and no trouble which helped me
The 2 nurses I used
to see always kept me informed on my Mum's condition and would phone if any thing happen so big thanks to Laura and Bernie
I would recommend this home to anyone and they were also very good when my Mum M.Cox passed away at the beginning of May
All in all great place along with great staff and

My mother spent 2 years at Stirlings. She was quite a challenging resident. Despite this the staff treated her with respect, humour and love. We could not have asked for more. When we were forced to move her due to specialist nursing care needs we were all very upset. Thank you to all the staff who
became good friends, we will miss you.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at StirlingsThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. We're truly grateful that your mother spent her time with us at Stirlings, and it means a great deal to hear how warmly supported she was, even through challenging times.

Treating every resident with respect, humour and genuine care is incredibly important to our team, so your words will be very touching for them to hear. We completely understand how difficult it was to say goodbye when her needs changed, and we're honoured that our staff became such a meaningful part of your family's journey. Thank you for trusting us with your mother's care - she will be remembered fondly, and you will all be missed.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother was a resident at Henry Cornish Care Home from May 2025 until she passed on 3rd April 2026. She was exceptionally well looked after during her stay, including during her last few weeks when it was obvious she wasn't going to be with us much longer. All the carers were very caring people.
Nothing was too much trouble for them. The entertainment was also excellent, and even though my mother often said she was too tired to join in, she enjoyed all activities immensely! Last summer, it was almost like she had a new lease of life, enjoying being outside with the other residents and eating in the dining room with her new friends .
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Henry Cornish Care CentreThank you for sharing such a touching and heartfelt review. We are truly honoured that your mother spent her time with us at Henry Cornish Care Home, and we're very grateful for your kind words about the care she received throughout her stay, especially during her final weeks. It means a great deal to know that she was comfortable, well supported and able to enjoy the companionship, activities and time outdoors with others. Your memories of her finding joy and friendship with us will be shared with the whole team, who take great pride in caring with kindness, patience and respect. Please accept our sincere condolences, and thank you for trusting us with your mother's care.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father moved to Chilterns Court following a fall (femur head fracture) and hospital stay in February, initially for respite care. The whole team have been brilliant with him, from making sure he has help and support in all daily tasks (due to limited mobility), encouraging him (and wheeling him
out) to take part in activities and have his meals in the dining area. Whilst I try to visit several times a week, their communication is also excellent, they ring whenever they need to discuss his health or care. Having him so well looked after by a kind, caring and empathetic team is a huge weight off my mind - knowing he's safe and in safe hands.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Chilterns Court Care CentreThank you so much for sharing your experience. We're really glad to hear how well your father has been supported since coming to Chilterns Court, especially after such a difficult time. It's lovely to know he's been encouraged to join in with activities and meals, helping him feel safe and settled. We're also pleased that our communication has given you reassurance when you can't be here. Knowing families feel a weight lifted because their loved one is in kind, caring hands means a great deal to the team. Thank you again for your trust and kind words.

The Henry Cornish Care Home staff continue to provide a friendly, safe and caring environment for my dad.

Despite his increasing needs, the care staff and management are caring, respectful, sympathetic, responsive and generally proactive about his needs. They communicate well with me with any sudden

changes in his health.

Lake House has been a godsend for care for my mum. She is seen as a human not a number. The carers take time to know her, and her likes and dislikes. There is wide variety of entertainment and activities.

We are so happy with the care that mum is receiving at Lake House. Nothing is too much and always with a smile. Mum is always clean, warm and receives lovely meals. Her room is clean and tidy, as well as the rest of the home. Thank you to everyone for the quality of life that mum is having. She is safe,
which is reassuring for my sister and I.

Having nothing but good things to say about Lake House. Mum is well looked after, she is always clean, out with other residents and kept a close eye on. Anything we see we can ask the staff and it is noted and acted on straight away. We have not had any real concerns at all as everything is so well
organised. We are so grateful to all staff for keeping mum in a safe and happy environment. Thank you so so much.
