Mum moved into the home two years ago after her anxiety at being home alone overnight heightened her dementia symptoms. Since being at Langford View her anxiety has disappeared, she feels safe and secure and loves the social side and activities on offer. The home has a nice feel to it, the staff are
all lovely and as a family we feel mum is well cared for.

Mum has been in Langford View for nearly a year. The staff have looked after her really well. Her communication is minimal, but the carers take time with her and anticipate her needs. When going to visit, it is like going into a family, from the staff at reception to carers and domestics. All of them
welcome us. Dad visits daily and is treated like family, everyone knows him, and he is able to have his meals with mum every day. I would highly recommend Langford View for the great care and lovely, homely atmosphere. It has been lovely to see the manager spending quality time with the residents.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Langford ViewThank you so much for your lovely review, we are so grateful. It's a real pleasure caring for your mum, she makes us smile every day. It's also been great getting to know your dad and meeting you all. Thank you so much for the recommendation, we cant get a better accolade than that. If there's ever anything more we can do for your family, please just ask.

I just wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care and warmth you have shown my nan since her arrival at Langford. Her new home, in every sense of the word from the very first moment we stepped through the door, the staff were incredibly welcoming to both my nan
and me. We were guided to her room, beautifully furnished and clean, then offered a cup of tea and biscuits, this truly meant a lot. Nan has said the meals are great. Nan has made friends already, she is so happy which is just what I needed and her.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, your care and dedication make such a difference.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Langford ViewThank you so much for your lovely review, we are so grateful to receive such lovely, kind words about our home. It is an absolute pleasure caring for your nan, what a lovely lady and she has settled in so well! She makes us smile every day and it's great seeing her interact with the team and also making friends with the other residents. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for your nan or for your family, we'd be happy to help. Our kettle is always on, so feel free to come and see us whenever you like.

I visited Langford View to see my friend and it fell on the same day as their Christmas Fayre. It was such a lovely afternoon, a great festive atmosphere. It really did make our visit special with my friend. We sat and enjoyed a coffee with mince pies in the beautifully decorated lounge room and also
had a look at the lovely stalls in the reception area. The staff were amazing, helpful and attentive. They all worked so hard to deliver a wonderful day. Thank you for the warm welcome.

My sister, 84, moved into Langford View in July.
From day 1, staff were so welcoming and my sister settled so quickly. My sister hasn't complained to me as she used to, sometimes ringing me 5-10 times a day. Suffering from Alzheimer's she didn't understand, being my older sister my wife and I have
cared and looked after for the last 6-8 years.
All I can say is thank you so much to all the staff. It means so much that she has made friends and is safe and happy.

The care home is very well-managed with strong leadership, and an excellent team who are friendly, helpful and positive. My mum is very happy and comfortable, and the staff do all they can to make her feel included and part of the community. The food is excellent and always served on hot plates.
Recently
when my mum had a series of falls, the team supported her superbly during a stressful and challenging time. When she returned from hospital, the welcome was warm and reassuring with every detail thoughtfully considered. "It's so good to be back with my chums," she said, as she was welcomed back to her room.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.613)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.613) out of 10 for Langford View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.613 for Langford View is calculated as follows: ( (207 Excellents x 5) + (50 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (10 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 274 Ratings = 4.613
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Langford View is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
