The care home is very well-managed with strong leadership, and an excellent team who are friendly, helpful and positive. My mum is very happy and comfortable, and the staff do all they can to make her feel included and part of the community. The food is excellent and always served on hot plates.

Recently when my mum had a series of falls, the team supported her superbly during a stressful and challenging time. When she returned from hospital, the welcome was warm and reassuring with every detail thoughtfully considered. "It's so good to be back with my chums," she said, as she was welcomed back to her room.

My parents are here, my mum has dementia and can be challenging. The staff have all been patient and compassionate with her.
I notice that the staff know all the names of all the residents.

I have witnessed staff dealing well with situations that I would personally find challenging.

I would not recommend Langford View Care Home.

They failed to look after and care for my mother. Questioned management and staff about my unwell mother but didn't result in a responsible welfare outcome. Was hospitalised and unfortunately never came out of hospital.

Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Langford View

We are sorry you have felt the need to write this and are also concerned for how you are feeling. What you are describing in no way reflects our high level of care for our residents at all times. We have responded to your most recent email last week, where we also offered some advice to support you further.

A very well-maintained home. The care workers and nurses were kind, caring, attentive and compassionate. I thank them. Security and cleanliness were good and it felt like a safe environment. The night my partner died seemed to be filled with confusion from the staff on duty. I found this difficult.

On looking for a home for Dad, I was particularly impressed with our initial meeting at the home and how time was taken to answer my many questions.
Since being at the home, Dad has been treated with dignity and respect by a very warm and friendly staff group.

Thank you for looking after Dad now I'm no longer able to do so.

Mum moved to Langford View after nearly a month in hospital as she now needs nursing care. The staff are warm and friendly. Everyone has gone the extra mile to help her settle in. She's treated with dignity and respect and even managed to have the first bath she'd had in years. She enjoys going to activities and spending time in the garden. Would recommend as they do their best to create a home from home.

I have been visiting a friend for over a year now. I am very impressed by the care and help given to her, the friendliness of all staff in general and the cleanliness of rooms, lounges and food area. I have told my son that if I need a care home, I want to go there instead of a Salvation Army care home, as he could visit me. Medical care seems to be excellent. Staff are so pleasant and helpful to residents. Plenty of activities. I am eighty-two years young.

A huge thank you to the Managerial team, Carers and their families for putting on an amazing Afternoon Tea Party for their residents and their families. Also to the local Minister for organising the music. It was heart warming to see the team dancing and singing with the residents and families too. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny afternoon, the team went over and above to ensure there residents were provided with sun hats and plenty of fluids to ensure their well being absolutely outstanding care and attention. The Afternoon Tea was outstanding too. Thank you so much!

My aunt was at Langford View for almost two years and throughout that time was comfortable, secure and treated with dignity. Given her circumstances, she was content. I think my only reservation is that she was a fussy eater and perhaps more could have been done to accommodate her preferences.
