Madley Park House was opened in 2005 and offers residential, early-stage dementia and respite care for up to 60 residents. It is situated in a peaceful location on the outskirts of Witney and is close to local shops and services.

Spacious bedrooms with en suite facilities and comfortable lounges look out onto landscaped gardens whilst amenities within the home include a hair salon and shop.

Activity coordinators ensure that there is a varied programme of events and outings to suit all tastes and residents are encouraged to continue hobbies they have enjoyed during their life, and also try out something new if they so wish.

Strong links with the local community mean that there is always someone new coming into the home to ensure residents get the best of out every day.

The team are on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide residents with support and encourage them to continue to be as independent as they can be.

We are very pleased with the improvements made here since the change in management. The staff all seem happier and more efficient. A minor point only, a fraction, would be to act upon the request made at the most recent (6 weeks-ish ago) relatives' meeting, to please have signage on each floor of who
the care leader on duty that day is. Often, it is hard to know who to speak to about anything.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Madley Park HouseThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're really pleased to hear that you've noticed positive improvements since the change in management and that the team are coming across as happier and more efficient. We also really appreciate you raising your suggestion about clearer signage for the care leader on duty. That's a very helpful point, and we understand how important it is to know who to speak to. We'll be sure to share this with the management team so it can be reviewed and acted on. Thank you again for your honest and constructive comments.

Very pleasant enviroment, everywhere clean. Roy feels safe, and I think his overall appearance and well-being have improved. Only 1 slight complaint, on several occasions after breakfast or dinner, he has been forgotten to be moved back to his room, has had to ring me to ring reception to ask for someone
to go and take him back to his room.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Madley Park HouseThank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're really pleased to hear that your dad feels safe, that you've noticed an improvement in his overall wellbeing, and that you find the environment pleasant and clean - that means a great deal to us. We're also very grateful for your comments, we will address this with the team to ensure better communication and consistency, so this doesn't happen again. Thank you for bringing it to our attention - your feedback helps us to continually improve the care and support we provide.

Mum has been at Madley Park for nearly a year & has on the whole settled well.
Despite a few initial teething problems the majority of these have been resolved.
It is reassuring for us know that she is safe and being looked after by a team of amazing carers.

On the 1st Feb 2026, my partner with dementia peacefully passed away. I can't thank everyone in Madley Home for the way they looked after her and got her dressed and ready for her departure. For me and my partner the care, kindness and respect will always be in my heart. Thank you.

My mum has been at Madley Park House for almost a year. Each time I visit, mum is in good spirits, healthy and relaxed. She is well cared for. The food is fresh and tasty. There are lots of activities, games etc so mum is kept alert. I am very pleased she is at Madley House; knowing she is looked after
so well is very reassuring.

All staff are very caring. Niki the manager is an absolute asset to OSJ. She supported our case to move my mother from respite to permanent funded residential in the face of some reluctance from social services. Niki clearly has the residents needs at heart. I understand she is leaving, In my opinion
she will be a big loss.
Although my mother is quite antisocial, I would like to see more activities that she could be encouraged to join in with. I understand you are short of a coordinator.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Madley Park HouseThank you so much for your lovely review of our home and our fabulous Niki. Staff are excellent, howeveer I was disappointed that mid summer the lift was not working for several weeks, this hampered visitors' visits!!
But apart from above Madley Park looks after my mother-in-law very well.

My experience on Tuesday ,meeting the manager was so welcoming. No one knew I was popping by I was treated so kindly taken round straight away even though it was just after lunch the Home smelt nice everyone was friendly. Cleanliness was outstanding . Nothing was too much trouble, staff treated the
residents with care and patience & the few I met ,seemed good fun.
I popped by for a neighbour of mine who's is really finding life rather difficult at 94, I have recommended her to come here.
I'd like to book in myself !
The menu looks amazing lots to choose from and the manager said ,we try and cook whatever the residents would like. If it's not on the menu, we try to cook what they would like so that they feel at home here .
The manager came out to see my friend today as she felt nervous to visit the home .
Amazing , thank you and we've been invited back for lunch to see how we like both it .
Thank you I shall recommend your home because I was so impressed with what I saw. Thank you

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.557)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.557) out of 10 for Madley Park House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.557 for Madley Park House is calculated as follows: ( (165 Excellents x 5) + (110 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 282 Ratings = 4.557
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Madley Park House is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
