My Mother is a new resident at Madley Park - she has only been here for 3 weeks. She is settled in and I am very pleased with everything. The care and support is excellent and everywhere is so clean + tidy. We are all encouraging my Mum to socialise more but this may take more time. Her room is so lovely - A new home for her. It is wonderful knowing she is being cared for and is safe.

Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Madley Park House

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We're so pleased to hear that your mum has settled in so well after just a few weeks and that you're happy with the care and support she's receiving. Having had no experience of care homes, Madley Park House took my mother in on an emergency. I have been taken aback by it all. For my mother she can now be well looked after, cared and supported. It will bring her an improvement in her wellbeing that has contributed to poor health. For the family it gives comfort she can be looked after by carers who know what to do. Finally, with your care we know our mum is in the best place. Thank you.

Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Madley Park House

Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt feedback. Our mother has Alzheimer's and was finding living independently increasingly challenging. We visited several care homes in Witney and, whilst some met our main criteria such as clean, cared-for en-suite rooms and the facility to provide a permanent home for residents with dementia until end of life care, Madley Park was the one that stood out as a caring and nurturing environment where we could envisage our Mum being happy. Our instincts were right and since the day she moved in, she has gone from being anxious, lonely and at times unhappy to feeling cared-for and respected, as well as enjoying lovely relationships with her carers. The care she receives is offered with sensitivity and where she was reluctant to accept support with personal and practical tasks from carers in her own home, she has surprisingly accepted this support from the wonderful staff at Madley Park. The staff are always warm and welcoming and are clearly very fond of Mum.

Mum has lived at Madley Park for just over 2 years. The staff are all friendly, attentive and approachable. They often will always find time to spend a few minutes just chatting with mum which she very much appreciates. I am always happy to see her enjoying good company and good food, But above all Mum is happy here and feels "AT HOME".

We are very pleased with the improvements made here since the change in management. The staff all seem happier and more efficient. A minor point only, a fraction, would be to act upon the request made at the most recent (6 weeks-ish ago) relatives' meeting, to please have signage on each floor of who the care leader on duty that day is. Often, it is hard to know who to speak to about anything.

Very pleasant enviroment, everywhere clean. Roy feels safe, and I think his overall appearance and well-being have improved. Only 1 slight complaint, on several occasions after breakfast or dinner, he has been forgotten to be moved back to his room, has had to ring me to ring reception to ask for someone to go and take him back to his room.

Mum has been at Madley Park for nearly a year & has on the whole settled well.
Despite a few initial teething problems the majority of these have been resolved.

It is reassuring for us know that she is safe and being looked after by a team of amazing carers.

All staff are very caring. Niki the manager is an absolute asset to OSJ. She supported our case to move my mother from respite to permanent funded residential in the face of some reluctance from social services. Niki clearly has the residents needs at heart. I understand she is leaving, In my opinion she will be a big loss.

Although my mother is quite antisocial, I would like to see more activities that she could be encouraged to join in with. I understand you are short of a coordinator.

Staff are excellent, howeveer I was disappointed that mid summer the lift was not working for several weeks, this hampered visitors' visits!!

But apart from above Madley Park looks after my mother-in-law very well.
