Very sadly my partner was unwell and passed away on 2nd Jan 2025. He had been at Madley Park for 5½ years. During that time I saw nothing but love, assistance and care of the highest order. The team were very supportive of him and of me in the weeks leading up to his passing. Nothing was too much
trouble and I knew that in the hours I was absent, he would have been looked after with great care. After his passing, three members of the team gave their time to come to his cremation, which was much appreciated. A tree has been planted in the garden for my partner and without asking, it was arranged that an older bench would be refurbished and made to look like new and a most lovely plaque bearing his name with a message was attached to it. The bench is positioned in the garden to make it a nice space for me or anyone else to sit and enjoy the peace.
I have returned to the home since and receive a wonderful, warm, welcome. It is a special place and highly recommended.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Madley Park HouseWe are so sorry for your loss; he was a lovely man and is missed by everyone here at Madley Park. Thank you for leaving us such a lovely, detailed review of our home. Our team will be so thrilled to read how highly you rate our care. The bench looks great in the garden, it's so nice to have something so meaningful to remember him by. You are welcome to visit any time - we look forward to seeing you again soon.

I found the home to be a delight to visit, very friendly staff and happy residents.
Lots of activities for Christmas going on. I was made to feel very welcome and offered a cup of tea or coffee.
The decorations in the home were lovely and everyone, residents and staff, were in the Christmas spirit,
making for a lovely atmosphere.

Since Mum moved here five months ago, she has been extremely well looked after. The staff are caring and friendly and always on hand to help. The care home manager is lovely, very approachable and has a good relationship with the residents and their families. Daily activities are arranged for everyone
to participate in if they want to.
I've already recommended this home to a friend's mother, who has settled in well.
If you are looking for a lovely, caring home, this is the place to go.

Unexpected admission to “care” found Madley a home from home. Care, kindness, friendship are unbelievable. The thought that this is my long-term home is very pleasing, something that coming into care could have been a nightmare.

My Grandmother went to Madley Park on respite and now is a permanent resident. The team at Madley have been nothing but amazing with my 93-year-old grandmother! The care, compassion and kindness shown by the staff is exceptional. The care home manager is such an asset to the home and from the outset
of visiting, she has been there for all our questions and reassurance during such a big change for us all. I cannot thank the team enough for what they continue to do! Thank you!

My 93-year-old mum went in for respite care in November and from the moment we walked in, mum was treated with respect and kindness. Mum is now staying on a permanent basis and is so happy and relaxed. She is a very bright 93-year-old and conveys to me that everyone is so kind and caring, which is
what I witness when visiting regularly. We as a family are also made to feel so welcome.
The manager is one in a million, that lady goes above and beyond to make sure the residents are cared for, have fun and enjoy life. I feel that this ethos radiates to the team and therefore the home has such a lovely feel about it.
We feel so lucky to have been able to get mum into Madley Park House, and cannot say enough about them, just great.

I am very happy here I always speak highly of all staff. I came here from hospital having been advised by my consultant not to live alone due to depression and self-neglect. Since coming here four years ago, I have improved greatly. Everyone has been so kind and understanding.
We all enjoy going out
in the minibus and joining in with various activities. I need a wheelchair outside and someone is always helpful with this.

Fantastic care home! Welcoming, warm, friendly and above all homely! All the staff are always going above and beyond and have all of the resident's best interests at heart. Any queries are quickly dealt with and staff always have the time to chat and help out. I feel very happy with Dad being here,
knowing he is so well looked after and cared for. I would not want him anywhere else! A strong management ensures a very efficient staff team who always ensure that residents and visitors have a very positive experience. Food and drinks I have seen served always look very appetising and they even have a fish and chip van and ice cream van visit to add a bit of variety and different experiences!

My father-in-law was taken into Madley Park as an emergency respite who suddenly and unexpectedly needed care following numerous panic attacks. The staff were amazing in dealing with an unexpected and difficult situation. They made us feel that he was safe, secure and well looked after. The manager
ensured we knew the processes in place and updated us regularly. The food we saw during our visits looked appetising and plentiful and all the staff are very warm and caring. Could not ask for a better team to be caring for Dad.

Mum sadly passed away recently but was a resident at Madley Park Care Home for nearly 3 years. During that time she was looked after really well. All her needs were met to the highest standard. I never had one moment of worry that she wasn't safe and happy, as everyone was so kind and cheerful. She
loved all the activities and (when restrictions allowed) all the outings in the minibus. I would have no hesitation in recommending Madley Park to anyone who is looking for a safe and happy environment for their loved ones.

As my mum moved into Madley Park during COVID lockdown we have been unable to look around the home or meet the staff. We look forward to visiting Mum in her room and meeting the staff involved in her day to day care.
The care shown to Mum so far has been very good but we are a little concerned that
she is bypassed in making decisions for herself. She does not have dementia and therefore can open her own post!

In order to visit my mother, I had to undergo the Lateral Flow test for Covid which was performed very professionally by a member of staff. From the moment that I arrived to the time that I left, I was impressed by all the staff and the home itself. Having had a very nice visit I left feeling reassured
that my mother was being well cared for. I would like to thank all concerned for the care that they are giving to my mother and I look forward to my next visit.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.557)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.557) out of 10 for Madley Park House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.557 for Madley Park House is calculated as follows: ( (165 Excellents x 5) + (110 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 282 Ratings = 4.557
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Madley Park House is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
