Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.


Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

A wonderful care centre, friendly and helpful staff who were happy to help with any request. Sadly, Gran was not in the care home very long, but the staff were so kind and helpful while Gran was in her final days.

Overall experience was very positive. I felt well cared for and safe from the beginning. The ethos is very much 'behave as you would at home' with certain safety limits. It is a very open handed and generous.

My first visit to Haywards and I found the home to be a friendly environment with attentive and supportive staff who showed interest in my mother's life and her family.
Room well appointed, overlooking a garden area.
Food seemed to be fairly bland and lacking variety, but this was only over a couple
of meals I experienced.
Overall, a good experience - thanks to all.

From the moment my mum entered Hayward the staff could not of done more to make her feel welcome. This didn't change throughout her stay.
I have nothing but positive things to say regarding the place as a whole. Always clean and tidy, always plenty of staff on hand. What was a hard decision to make
was made very easy once the team took over.
I would highly recommend Haywood Care Centre to anyone.

So far high praise for all staff concerned in the care of my Mother.
The staff are approachable, courteous, caring and professional.
Great facilities and well kept grounds.
All communal areas are welcoming and well maintained.
The residents en-suite rooms are light and spacious and also well maintained.

My mum stayed for respite for 3 weeks to regain mobility, confidence after a fall. She had a lovely time, but a bug derailed her ability to fully engage. She will definitely return again.

Very pleased with quality of service and my dad was more than happy. There was one occasion when I asked sticky plasters were not used as when removed peel off my dad's skin due to blood thinners making his skin weak, and the next day after my request the same nurse was using sticky plasters, with the
excuse that appropriate bandages were "not in stock" and they were awaiting delivery. I would not have given my dad sedatives on the Monday, but my family believe it was the right decision as he was sometimes anxious and visibly

We found that mums Respite stay of 3 weeks at Hayward Care Centre had been a happy experience.
She loved chatting to the other residents & interaction with the staff.
She was well cared for by the staff who attended to her needs.
We were away for just over 2 weeks, family & mums home careers that
visited all found mum to be well cared for and happy.
At 97 with limited mobility, dementia and not being able to maintain personal hygiene we will use Hayward Care Centre again for Respite whilst we push for funding for residency.

My husband enjoyed his stay at Hayward care home and was very well looked after.
He cannot remember any details hence the need for me to complete this form.
He has no idea that he was with you for three weeks but it meant that I could visit a sick friend in New Zealand without worrying about him.

My husband has been a resident for about 3 years, and I have found the home to be caring and homely. They react appropriately when necessary; for example when needing hospital treatment for various disorders. They have been particularly accommodating with my husband's very picky eating. There appears
to be quite a variety of social occasions which my husband rarely attends. Also, there are other activities. His room is generally well looked after by housekeeping.

My mum has been a resident at Haywards for over a year now and seems very happy. Staff are always friendly and welcoming, special mention to the activities co-ordinator, she always interacts so well with my mum and ensures she is included now mum is in a wheelchair.
Only concern I have is with my mums
eating habits, feel like she needs to be closely monitored and not left alone.
My mum had a referral made a few months ago due to her walking abilities declining (which I am now understanding is due to decline in dementia) this referral as far as I am aware is still going through now. It is a real shame because who knows if my mum would be up walking if further help was provided a lot sooner.
Overall lovely care home always kept so clean and as I say very welcoming.

The staff on the Keevil level are always so nice and friendly.
The level of care towards my loved one is good.

A bit disappointed with the way the meals are served, my friend's mother has very limited memory and will easily say yes or no to anything and also finds it nearly impossible to feed herself but is usually left to do so. I have been there several times at meal times with food left uneaten and cold,
yet when I or my friend helps her to eat she usually eats it all. Always loves porridge! Said no to being asked when we got there, fed her and she ate the lot.

Dad has not been here very long, but so far it's all good. He has not been able to participate in activities as he can not get out of bed and he does not have a wheelchair or a tilt in space chair.

Although our mother doesn't like to take part in group activities, she did enjoy the build up to Christmas and watching all that was going on. She was able to take part on her own terms with some cooking activities. She has been here a year now and has settled beautifully. She is respected and cared
for so very well. Thank you.

My mother has been in the home for about two and a half years now. She seems very settled and happy where she is. Her room is very nice, bright and airy. I feel that my mum would benefit from a bath now and again, or at least once a week. Also her room could do with a hoover a bit more often than at
present, she has very dry skin and the floor seems to suffer. Overall my sister and I are very pleased with all you do for our mother. Her happiness is all we care about, when all is said and done.

Helen

Helen Shepherd

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2011

Helen started her care career in 2001, and joined Hayward Care Centre as home manager in February 2025. She joined OSJCT Watersmead in 2011 as a carer and worked her way through many different roles. In April 2017 she was appointed Head of Care at OSJCT Brookside in Melksham and then she returned to Watersmead, where she became Home Manager, in July 2018.


Helen is extremely passionate about creating a wonderful home for her residents and championing person-centred care. “This is what I want to pass onto the team to support and develop them all to be the very best they can be”, Helen says.


Over the years Helen has completed her QCF level 2 and 3 in health and social care and she is currently working through her Level 5.


In her spare time, Helen loves spending time with her family. She has three amazing children along with Jasper, her long-haired dachshund, who she takes everywhere at the weekends. She also enjoys keeping fit with regular Zumba sessions and swimming.

Glynnis

Glynnis Galloway

Job Title: Care Service Manager Joined: 2007

Glynnis oversees the care across the home and her ethos of care is that it’s all about enabling people to live their lives how they choose. She has worked for OSJCT since 2007 and at Hayward Care Centre since 2015.

Glynnis is a qualified psychiatric nurse and has links with the local churches to support Hayward’s residents.


She loves walking through the doors in the morning knowing that she’s going to make a difference to people in the home. Outside work, Glynnis volunteers with the local Alzheimer’s support group.

Jemima loves to work with people, and that is evident in everything she does. She organises a varied programme of activities for our residents at Hayward Care Centre and spends time talking to everyone, learning what each likes to do or would like to try. The activities include regular favourites like skittles, curling, music and movement, bingo, and the ever popular – and competitive! – Friday quiz.


Outside work, Jemima runs a Brownie group and teaches a ballet class. Previous roles have included being a nanny, and an outdoor activity instructor. Jemima has worked at Hayward Care Centre since February 2024.

Suzanne

Suzanne Davison

Job Title: Support Worker Joined: 2023

Suzanne has worked at Hayward Care Centre since November 2023, and this is her first role in care.


Previously, she worked as a cabin crew.


Suzanne loves following jobs through to the end, and loves the attention to detail that her job allows, remembering all the little things about the people she cares for; who likes their tea in a mug and who prefers a cup and saucer? Who likes their toast cut into squares and who prefers triangles?


When she’s not working, Suzanne loves spending time with her young family and being out in the countryside.

Georgie

Georgie Hill

Job Title: Support Worker Joined: 2020

Georgie has been with the Trust, and Hayward Care Centre, since 2020 and previously ran a pub with her dad before. Her role now is to support residents however they need, promoting their independence.

Georgie says that the best thing about her job is being there for the residents, day in, and day out, and hearing about their lives because everyone is different.


Outside work, Georgie likes to spend time with her family, including her nephews.
