In response to the last unanswered review questions. By any standards, the home fee is eyewatering. But... on the other hand, I have now witnessed at first hand what happens in a care home. I see the generous ratio of staff to resident and how well trained they are, on all levels. I see how the
staff relate to each resident.
I have noticed the constant upkeep of the home and the behind the scene care, i.e. catering, laundry, office, etc. So I can also see where the money goes. I am eternally grateful for the care and expertise my mum is receiving as her health slowly declines. Thanks as well to the office, who keep my sisters and I fully informed.

The 1st words that come to mind are kindness, gentle, professional, safe and trustworthy. I appreciate the regular updates on my mother's condition which has been challenging. The staff, and I mean ALL the staff, have been very respectful and thoughtful. The stress has been taken away from the
family, giving us valuable time to spend with our mother, that is priceless.
I think it is value for money and excellent medical care.
Thank you is not enough. x

My sister has been treated with a great deal of care and compassion. She has a larger room now and will be having extra care to help her integrate here. Everyone has been very helpful and supportive. Nothing is too much trouble.

This is the third respite home we've tried and, at carer level, it was the best. First time a proper handover of my partner was achieved. The home was well laid out, clean and well-maintained with a coffee lounge for visitors and easy access to the garden. Carer communication was the reason we've
tried different homes. The Hayward carers were friendly, willing to listen, and responsive. Adequate numbers were available even at weekends, leading to a relaxed atmosphere. Pleasingly, it was rare to see a carer using a mobile phone in the residential areas. The difference in carers was still evident, but the care my partner received was better overall with good attention to the detail (hair, teeth, appearance). I often saw carers engaging with residents when they weren't needed on more urgent tasks. More effort and imagination were put into activities, and carers helped those who had difficulty participating. My partner was smiling and looked well-cared for when she came home after 3 weeks.

This is a very friendly home & I can do the things I would like to do and not feel forced. I must admit I like being prompted and try to be on time first thing in the morning. It was Monday morning, and we all scrambled down to the bottom floor. It was a bit crowded, and carers came through to spend
a few moments in the lovely garden. Perhaps when it's sunnier we can work out in the garden. Everybody very friendly.

Fantastic care home - They go above and beyond to take care of my grandmother. They genuinely care, and communication is great between family and staff.
Lovely, friendly environment which is beautifully decorated.
Lots of activities and cheerful music throughout the home.
100% recommend.

I'm very grateful, as so pleased with Mum's care and all the kind staff who are working on Mum's case. Mum is treated with dignity, and it's so lovely to see Mum having interactions with all at Hayward Care Centre and health improvements.

Have stayed here for 6 months and have settled in well. Staff are helpful and there when I need them. There are activities every day. Everyone is very friendly, supportive and I am very happy with the care. The home is homely, and lots of others to talk to. My family visits whenever they like. The
housekeeping team do a good job.

Mum has been resident since Oct 25. Since then, she has been very comfortable and well cared for. The staff are very friendly and caring to Mum and all of her family. We are kept informed of any changes to her condition, treatment/care plans and medication. No complaints whatsoever. We're more than
happy with her care.

My mother was admitted to the care home in December 2023 after loosing my father. Her dementia made it impossible to live at her own home any longer. I knew the inevitable would happen one day but hoped she would at least find some respite which sadly has not been the case. The organisation offer
dementia care but have not followed good practice in the area at all. She passed away on December 9th 2025 being admitted to hospital with dehydration and a chest infection. Prior to this she had been pushed over and broken her hip with the hospitalisation required. And she had another fall in the interim time. Falls and chest infections are high risk in dementia patients and good practice is to avoid them happening. Any contact from the organisation was to blame her in all cases but in reality she was a nurse and in her mind she was still helping people around her. Instead of a peaceful end of life this care home has hastened and added to her and her families suffering.

A wonderful care centre, friendly and helpful staff who were happy to help with any request. Sadly, Gran was not in the care home very long, but the staff were so kind and helpful while Gran was in her final days.

Overall experience was very positive. I felt well cared for and safe from the beginning. The ethos is very much 'behave as you would at home' with certain safety limits. It is a very open handed and generous.

My first visit to Haywards and I found the home to be a friendly environment with attentive and supportive staff who showed interest in my mother's life and her family.
Room well appointed, overlooking a garden area.
Food seemed to be fairly bland and lacking variety, but this was only over a
couple of meals I experienced.
Overall, a good experience - thanks to all.

From the moment my mum entered Hayward the staff could not of done more to make her feel welcome. This didn't change throughout her stay.
I have nothing but positive things to say regarding the place as a whole. Always clean and tidy, always plenty of staff on hand. What was a hard decision to make
was made very easy once the team took over.
I would highly recommend Haywood Care Centre to anyone.
