View Full Details of Hayward Care CentreOverall experience was very positive. I felt well cared for and safe from the beginning. The ethos is very much 'behave as you would at home' with certain safety limits. It is a very open handed and generous.
My first visit to Haywards and I found the home to be a friendly environment with attentive and supportive staff who showed interest in my mother's life and her family. Room well appointed, overlooking a garden area. Food seemed to be fairly bland and lacking variety, but this was only over a couple of meals I experienced. Overall, a good experience - thanks to all.
From the moment my mum entered Hayward the staff could not of done more to make her feel welcome. This didn't change throughout her stay. I have nothing but positive things to say regarding the place as a whole. Always clean and tidy, always plenty of staff on hand. What was a hard decision to make was made very easy once the team took over. I would highly recommend Haywood Care Centre to anyone.
My stay was excellent, everything and everybody very attentive.
So far high praise for all staff concerned in the care of my Mother. The staff are approachable, courteous, caring and professional. Great facilities and well kept grounds. All communal areas are welcoming and well maintained. The residents en-suite rooms are light and spacious and also well maintained. All queries/ concerns have been answered/ actioned promptly. As said high praise all round.
My mum stayed for respite for 3 weeks to regain mobility, confidence after a fall. She had a lovely time, but a bug derailed her ability to fully engage. She will definitely return again.
Very pleased with quality of service and my dad was more than happy. There was one occasion when I asked sticky plasters were not used as when removed peel off my dad's skin due to blood thinners making his skin weak, and the next day after my request the same nurse was using sticky plasters, with the excuse that appropriate bandages were "not in stock" and they were awaiting delivery. I would not have given my dad sedatives on the Monday, but my family believe it was the right decision as he was sometimes anxious and visibly
We found that mums Respite stay of 3 weeks at Hayward Care Centre had been a happy experience. She loved chatting to the other residents & interaction with the staff. She was well cared for by the staff who attended to her needs. We were away for just over 2 weeks, family & mums home careers that visited all found mum to be well cared for and happy. At 97 with limited mobility, dementia and not being able to maintain personal hygiene we will use Hayward Care Centre again for Respite whilst we push for funding for residency.
My husband enjoyed his stay at Hayward care home and was very well looked after. He cannot remember any details hence the need for me to complete this form. He has no idea that he was with you for three weeks but it meant that I could visit a sick friend in New Zealand without worrying about him. Thank you.
My husband has been a resident for about 3 years, and I have found the home to be caring and homely. They react appropriately when necessary; for example when needing hospital treatment for various disorders. They have been particularly accommodating with my husband's very picky eating. There appears to be quite a variety of social occasions which my husband rarely attends. Also, there are other activities. His room is generally well looked after by housekeeping.
My mum has been a resident at Haywards for over a year now and seems very happy. Staff are always friendly and welcoming, special mention to the activities co-ordinator, she always interacts so well with my mum and ensures she is included now mum is in a wheelchair. Only concern I have is with my mums eating habits, feel like she needs to be closely monitored and not left alone. My mum had a referral made a few months ago due to her walking abilities declining (which I am now understanding is due to decline in dementia) this referral as far as I am aware is still going through now. It is a real shame because who knows if my mum would be up walking if further help was provided a lot sooner. Overall lovely care home always kept so clean and as I say very welcoming.
Hayward care home is always warm and welcoming. The staff on the Keevil level are always so nice and friendly. The level of care towards my loved one is good. The home is always clean and warm at all times.
A bit disappointed with the way the meals are served, my friend's mother has very limited memory and will easily say yes or no to anything and also finds it nearly impossible to feed herself but is usually left to do so. I have been there several times at meal times with food left uneaten and cold, yet when I or my friend helps her to eat she usually eats it all. Always loves porridge! Said no to being asked when we got there, fed her and she ate the lot.
Dad has not been here very long, but so far it's all good. He has not been able to participate in activities as he can not get out of bed and he does not have a wheelchair or a tilt in space chair.
Although our mother doesn't like to take part in group activities, she did enjoy the build up to Christmas and watching all that was going on. She was able to take part on her own terms with some cooking activities. She has been here a year now and has settled beautifully. She is respected and cared for so very well. Thank you. "I do not like to take part in organised activities, but I was involved in making the Christmas cake and gingerbread men, which I always did at home." - Resident.
My mother has been in the home for about two and a half years now. She seems very settled and happy where she is. Her room is very nice, bright and airy. I feel that my mum would benefit from a bath now and again, or at least once a week. Also her room could do with a hoover a bit more often than at present, she has very dry skin and the floor seems to suffer. Overall my sister and I are very pleased with all you do for our mother. Her happiness is all we care about, when all is said and done.
First visit to see my mother who had only arrived the previous day.
Communication could be better.
Mum has settled in at Hayward Care Centre and is enjoying life there. The staff are of an excellent standard and all her needs are met, I have found this too, as all very welcoming and friendly. Overall, no complaints and we expect mum to continue to enjoy life there.
Lovely atmosphere and greetings for a visitor, super staff. My friend is obviously very happy. Thank you.
