I am happy here would prefer if I had a brace, then would do more.

Room nice, food nice and staff good and friendly. Would rather be here than on my own in a home.

Overall standard of the care home is good. Dad is happy. He has a nice room that is kept clean and tidy. His key carer seems to be very good with him. Dad arrived at the care home during lockdown so I cannot comment on things like activities and the normal running of the home. I did find at times office staff inconsistent with Covid information which led to confusion and upset at times.

I am extremely happy with my partner being in this care home. He is always saying how well he is treated. When I see him with different nurses he is always laughing. I leave him with a heavy heart but knowing how well he is being treated and cared for I can ask for no more.

In my humble opinion, 1000% goes to those who work here.

My mother who is 101 years old is well looked after. At this home and in a safe and secure place. As a caring son, I am happy knowing my mother is well looked after. The activities have been limited due to Covid hence why the activity marking is love. Overall very pleased the home meets good standards in my opinion.

The staff are all very caring; can't fault them, they are all sociable. Sometimes they are busy so take time to come and help me, but they do come. The food is good, and we have plenty to eat. I'm happy living here; they can't do enough to help me with my problems eg, UTIs and mobility issues.

Parents are happy at Hayward; they are given excellent care and attention. The staff communicate consistently with updates on their health, any problems and what action they are taking along with my input. The food is excellent, and my parents enjoy it very much. If parents have a medical problem, the staff act quickly and don't hesitate to call doctors.

Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions, I am unable to comment on the rooms/cleanliness etc. as I have only stood in the porchway and been in the visiting pod. The staff I have met are all lovely, friendly, approachable and considerate to my dad and his needs. Happy to review again when I can see more of the place. The invoices need to be a little more specific regarding 'extras' such as foot care etc. rather than just stating the amount.

I have been here for 3 years. Carers and staff are always polite, loving and helpful. The food is good. I have a record of dates that meals come to me cold. Activities, we have had very little. now we have new coordinators things will change. As I get so tired and job to go to take part, have to wait and see.

My wife became a resident here in January 2017, it was found for her by Social Services after previous daycare homes couldn't cope with my wife's active behaviour. Hayward were absolutely brilliant from day 1. All the staff were very caring and looked after me as well as my wife. The rooms were like 5-star hotels and had lovely views of the landscaped gardens. There was a choice of meals and great activities. My wife was a carer before she had Alzheimer's and she would tell me how difficult the job was. I cannot praise Hayward enough. Thank you.

Due to Covid restrictions, I have not been able to enter this care home, however, on first impressions, I believe it to be a clean, safe and happy place for its residents with pleasant and caring staff. Staff are able to answer my queries in a professional manner and are open to suggestions for my family. My father appears well cared for and relatively happy. Had I have been able to visit inside the building I feel certain my opinions below would be of a higher standard.

The staff are friendly and helpful and although mum's mood varies she seems generally settled and comfortable. Contact with mum is an issue but this will hopefully improve with the lessening of COVID impact. I can't put any excellent reports as we cannot get a realistic idea at present.

The staff at the home are really lovely and care beautifully for a lady whom I used to care for in her home. I now bring her brother to visit her and the staff look after him with kindness and compassion and always make his visits as nice as they can be at the moment with all the restrictions due to Covid. Would highly recommend Hayward Care Centre.

Over the years, Helen has completed her QCF levels 5 and 7 in health and social care.

In her spare time, Helen loves spending time with her family. She has three amazing children and two dachshunds, Jasper and Daphne, who keep her very busy. She enjoys keeping active by swimming and running regularly, making the most of any opportunity to get outdoors.

Glynnis oversees the care across the home and her ethos of care is that it’s all about enabling people to live their lives how they choose. She has worked for OSJCT since 2007 and at Hayward Care Centre since 2015.

Glynnis is a qualified psychiatric nurse and has links with the local churches to support Hayward’s residents.

She organises a varied programme of activities for our residents at Hayward Care Centre and spends time talking to everyone, learning what each likes to do or would like to try. The activities include regular favourites like skittles, curling, music and movement, bingo, and the ever popular – and competitive! – Friday quiz.

Previously, she worked as a cabin crew.

Suzanne loves following jobs through to the end, and loves the attention to detail that her job allows, remembering all the little things about the people she cares for; who likes their tea in a mug and who prefers a cup and saucer? Who likes their toast cut into squares and who prefers triangles?

When she’s not working, Suzanne loves spending time with her young family and being out in the countryside.

Georgie Hill
