Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. I am happy that you are pleased with care and attention your mother receives here at Hayward. I have passed on your concerns to the Head of Care on your mother's household and can assure you that this will be monitored very closely.
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review and I’m pleased that you are happy with the support we are giving to your mother. I will certainly share your comments with the team, who I know will much appreciate them. I think everyone finds the move to a new home a little odd. Inevitably, the atmosphere of a previously familiar and much loved environment cannot be replicated, and it takes some time for new surroundings to gain that homeliness. This is especially true when moving from an older building to a brand new one, since everything is quite different. I hope that, as the months pass, you are finding that Hayward is gradually becoming equally homely and comfortable in its own way.
I have just read the CQC report for the Centre which wasn't available until recently and I am surprised that the findings are below standard in most areas. Given that the Centre is fairly new I can only assume that policies and procedures are still evolving. From my impression of Hayward I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
Thank you very much for your review. As you say, we are all still getting used to our new living and working environment so everything is still evolving. It is, therefore, particularly pleasing to hear that you are happy with the service we are providing and that your mother has settled in so well.
Thank you for your review. I know that the support workers looking after your mother will very much appreciate your comments and will be sure to pass these on. I am also pleased that we have had an opportunity to discuss various issues which were causing you concern and, as agreed, will look forward to meeting you again shortly to ensure that those concerns have been addressed.
Thank you for acknowledging the “excellent facilities” we have here. We welcome relatives and others in helping us to identify any “teething problems” in this brand new building and I can confirm that most of these were solved within the first six months. However, in a new building it can sometimes take an infuriatingly long time to work out the best way to rectify apparently simple problems. Please rest assured that although there are some difficulties still being worked on, these are being addressed as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your review of our services, which is much appreciated. I am pleased that you are happy with the overall service we provide and the environment of the home. I have taken note of your point in relation to your husband having more opportunity to walk around, and we will do our best to ensure that this happens in future.

Helen started her care career in 2001, and joined Hayward Care Centre as home manager in February 2025. She joined OSJCT Watersmead in 2011 as a carer and worked her way through many different roles. In April 2017 she was appointed Head of Care at OSJCT Brookside in Melksham and then she returned to Watersmead, where she became Home Manager, in July 2018.
Helen is extremely passionate about creating a wonderful home for her residents and championing person-centred care. “This is what I want to pass onto the team to support and develop them all to be the very best they can be”, Helen says.
Over the years Helen has completed her QCF level 2 and 3 in health and social care and she is currently working through her Level 5.
In her spare time, Helen loves spending time with her family. She has three amazing children along with Jasper, her long-haired dachshund, who she takes everywhere at the weekends. She also enjoys keeping fit with regular Zumba sessions and swimming.
Glynnis oversees the care across the home and her ethos of care is that it’s all about enabling people to live their lives how they choose. She has worked for OSJCT since 2007 and at Hayward Care Centre since 2015.
Glynnis is a qualified psychiatric nurse and has links with the local churches to support Hayward’s residents.
She loves walking through the doors in the morning knowing that she’s going to make a difference to people in the home. Outside work, Glynnis volunteers with the local Alzheimer’s support group.
Jemima loves to work with people, and that is evident in everything she does. She organises a varied programme of activities for our residents at Hayward Care Centre and spends time talking to everyone, learning what each likes to do or would like to try. The activities include regular favourites like skittles, curling, music and movement, bingo, and the ever popular – and competitive! – Friday quiz.
Outside work, Jemima runs a Brownie group and teaches a ballet class. Previous roles have included being a nanny, and an outdoor activity instructor. Jemima has worked at Hayward Care Centre since February 2024.
Suzanne has worked at Hayward Care Centre since November 2023, and this is her first role in care.
Previously, she worked as a cabin crew.
Suzanne loves following jobs through to the end, and loves the attention to detail that her job allows, remembering all the little things about the people she cares for; who likes their tea in a mug and who prefers a cup and saucer? Who likes their toast cut into squares and who prefers triangles?
When she’s not working, Suzanne loves spending time with her young family and being out in the countryside.
Georgie has been with the Trust, and Hayward Care Centre, since 2020 and previously ran a pub with her dad before. Her role now is to support residents however they need, promoting their independence.
Georgie says that the best thing about her job is being there for the residents, day in, and day out, and hearing about their lives because everyone is different.
Outside work, Georgie likes to spend time with her family, including her nephews.
