My mother was sent to the assessment floor after being in the hospital for a week and we found the staff to be very caring towards my mother and very responsive to when she needed help. If I had anything I was concerned about I would call the manager and she would sort very quickly and efficiently.
The building and grounds were beautifully cared for. Lovely surroundings and easy parking for visiting.

My wife came from the hospital and was with you for ten weeks. I was very pleased with the care she received. I know that she was with you to be assessed and because you are not a nursing home had to be sent to another care home. But many thanks to management and staff for the love and care you gave
my wife.

Mum has been really happy at Hayward Care Centre. The staff are friendly and approachable. Mum enjoys having a laugh with them. After spending the last six months in hospital Mum has been enabled to be herself again.

My 98 year old mother was treated with dignity throughout her stay, by all members of the care team. Everyone had time for her and also for me. My mum settled in The Orders of St John Care Trust from day one. she was extremely well cared for and throughout her stay she felt safe. The meals were of good
quality, which she said were delicious and tasted home cooked. The Orders of St John Care Trust appear to invest in their staff who appear happy and confident in their roles.

Overall stay good, apart from some of my mother's medication being lost. This was unacceptable and reported it to the manager.

Since Mum's admission to the home, her mental health and overall health and wellbeing have improved. I'd say due to the careful control and administration of her daily medications for one, but also due to the kind and friendly carers who go the extra mile to make sure Mum is well looked after. Her room
facilities are excellent for a 'council funded' room, it is kept clean and tidy and feels fresh and comfortable. The lounge and dining room are always clean and welcoming, and daily activities are designed and arranged to meet residents' needs and encourage a social community feel. The garden is lovely and well tended. I have no complaints and extend immense thanks and gratitude to all at Haywards for how they've looked after my mother these past three months or so. 10 out of 10.

When I discovered the home, I thought it was a very modern building kept in good order. On entering the building I was met by excellent admin staff, who kindly directed us to where we should go once we had signed in. Internally, wherever we went, in lifts, along corridors, cloakrooms etc. the home was
spotlessly clean. All the staff we met were so helpful and pointed out an excellent dining room and lounge on the first floor. On arriving to the room where we were directed this too was excellent with a bathroom. Once again everything was in superb condition and well looked after. The food and drink offered to the residents is very good indeed. They also have a cafe on the ground floor. As for safety, main doors are kept locked and guests asked to be aware of the safety within Hayward Care Home.
Congratulations to you all. I have been visiting the Hayward Care Home at Devizes for the past year when allowed to do so. (The Covid19 virus closed the home down).

The staff at Hayward are love to both my parent and all family members. My parent loves them.
Agency staff not so friendly with my parent, can be abrupt.
Parents room needs painting and carpet looks warn, but otherwise okay.
Food, on one occasion my parent not offered a suitable option when parent
didn't like that days menu
Activities, my parent would wish for there to be more to do, but the activities staff do a wonderful job.
Haywards has changed since precovid and doesn't feel as wonderful as it once was but overall okay.

After initial anxieties following the move from home to Hayward Care centre my friend is settling in very well. She is well cared for and her individuality and care needs have been assessed to suit her particular needs. She is calm, happy, safe and has been able to be included in activities as one of
a group and individually. She has a good rapport with her caring key worker. Her capabilities of daily life are regularly assessed to keep her independence, and her personal quirks are catered for which is lovely. I feel welcome and included when I regularly visit. Well staffed.

My mother has been in Hayward Care Centre for two years. she has always been very well cared for. Physically and emotionally.
She is smart clean and well groomed whenever I see her, and more importantly is calm, happy and enjoying herself. She has warm friendly relationships with all the staff and
is always treated with kindness and respect. I am very happy with the care that she receives at Hayward Care Centre.

Overall standard of the care home is good. Dad is happy. He has a nice room that is kept clean and tidy. His key carer seems to be very good with him. Dad arrived at the care home during lockdown so I cannot comment on things like activities and the normal running of the home. I did find at times office
staff inconsistent with Covid information which led to confusion and upset at times.

I am extremely happy with my partner being in this care home. He is always saying how well he is treated. When I see him with different nurses he is always laughing. I leave him with a heavy heart but knowing how well he is being treated and cared for I can ask for no more.
In my humble opinion, 1000%

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.544)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.544) out of 10 for Hayward Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 37 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.544 for Hayward Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (273 Excellents x 5) + (114 Goods x 4) + (26 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 421 Ratings = 4.544
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hayward Care Centre is based on 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 35 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
