My wife attends the daycare centre once a week. There is a great feeling of homeliness and care. The staff are very professional and always available to provide feedback relating to my wife's involvement with activities. The management team have been particularly helpful and supportive. I feel very
confident that my wife will be treated with dignity and given excellent care. Dur to my wife's dementia, she can't provide feedback of her day, but always leaves the daycare happy and content.

My sister has been in Bemerton Lodge for approximately 9 months, when she was first admitted, she was filthy and dishevelled and refusing all help, within days she was clean and had started to eat properly and interact with the staff and other residents taken part in organised activities. The change
in her are very noticeable, and I feel this is mainly due to the skills and perseverance of the staff.

My Mother has been at Bemerton Lodge for over 2 years. She is 94 years of age, suffering from Dementia and despite previously very happy in her Warden Assisted Accommodation she started "wandering" at night which became a risk, when she was found on a dual carrigeway in Salisbury.
She soon settled
in Bemerton Lodge, despite her dementia deteriorating, she always tells me how lovely the carers are, the food is also very good and most importantly she is safe & well cared for.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at Bemerton LodgeThank you for sharing your experience and for trusting Bemerton Lodge with your mother's care over the past two years. We are so pleased to hear that she settled well with us and continues to feel happy and supported by our team. Knowing that she speaks so warmly about our carers and enjoys the food means a great deal to everyone here. Most importantly, we are glad that your mother feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Your kind words and support are truly appreciated and will be shared with the whole team.

Bemerton Lodge keeps me up to date on anything required for my sister in law's well being, ie. vaccinations permission required and are also supporting with a possible visit to hospital for dental treatment and current balance of her personal account for local purchases.
More importantly, the team
ensure she is safe, well and happy in her environment. Not once has she complained about her care and stay when we take her out. If she, or us, her family requires something, it is done. Whenever we visit, the staff team are welcoming, friendly and open. My sister in law and her family appreciate what they do for her.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at Bemerton LodgeThank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. Whilst my mother generally has good care. She has broken three bones on separate occasions in your care, collar bone and 2 hip replacements. The last was because another resident pushed her over. On a different occasion she was punched in the mouth by another resident.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Bemerton LodgeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about the incidents your mother has experienced whilst in our care, and we understand how distressing this must have been for both you and your family. The safety and wellbeing of all residents is extremely important to us, and we take all accidents and resident-to-resident incidents very seriously. We appreciate you acknowledging the good care your mother generally receives, but we also recognise the concerns you have raised regarding these specific events. Please be assured that incidents of this nature are thoroughly reviewed, with appropriate actions and care measures put in place to help reduce risks and support residents' safety and wellbeing. The staff at the care home are always friendly and helpful. They always keep the family informed of any medical interventions that my mother is having or checking for consent in a timely fashion.
There are regular activities available for the resident to engage in if they choose to.
I appreciate what
they do for my mother in a way that I can't, and the fact that they remain positive, while doing, what can be, a difficult job. Would definitely recommend.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Bemerton LodgeThank you so much for your kind words and recommendation. Since our mother became a resident at Bemerton Lodge almost a year ago, I have been deeply impressed by the quality of care provided, and i feel that our family was very lucky to find a place available for her here. Everything is very well and ethically organised, and all of the staff are very friendly
and helpful, and go out of their way to accommodate the particular needs and comforts of each resident. I enormously appreciate the effort and imagination put into providing residents with frequent, appealing and stimulating activities to keep life interesting and enjoyable, such as supervised group garden work, outings to a farm with a chance to feed goats (!), themed parties with food and costumes from different parts of the world, talks and films on places and topics that offer something new and interesting to learn. Our mother, a retired musician, is facilitated to play music, which helps to honour and retain who she is. She is very happy living here and socialises well.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Bemerton LodgeThank you for your wonderful review of Bemerton Lodge. We are delighted to hear how happy your mother has been during her time with us and that your family feels reassured by the quality of care she receives. Your kind comments about our friendly, dedicated staff and the way they support each resident as an individual mean a great deal to us. We are especially pleased that your mother enjoys the varied activities and experiences available, from gardening and outings to themed events and educational talks. It is lovely to hear that she is encouraged to continue playing music, helping her maintain such an important part of her identity and wellbeing. Creating a stimulating, supportive and enjoyable environment for residents is at the heart of what we do, so your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and your kind words with us.

My sister and I both feel our mother has been extremely lucky to have been given a place in this care home; it was the first choice offered by the Council, but even if her resources could have covered a greater range of options, we feel she could hardly have found a living environment better suited
to her needs. The staff are unfailingly friendly and cheerful, the rooms and facilities are colourful, clean and well-cared for, and the encouragement of social interaction and activities is embedded in their philosophy and the design of the building, along with its beautiful mature garden, where they facilitated a wonderful birthday party for our mother last year. She is clearly very happy there, enjoys the food and company, and has a wonderful relationship with the caring staff.
We are both very grateful to both Bemerton Lodge and the Council who have enabled her placement there.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Bemerton LodgeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We are truly delighted to hear that your mother has settled so well at Bemerton Lodge and that you and your sister feel reassured by the care and support she receives. It is especially rewarding to know that the friendly and cheerful atmosphere, along with the cleanliness of the home and quality of the facilities, has made such a positive impression. We are also very pleased that she enjoys the food, company, and activities, and that the environment, including the garden and special occasions like her birthday celebration, has helped her feel happy and at home. Your kind words about our team mean a great deal. We strive to create a warm, engaging, and person-centred environment for all residents, and it is wonderful to hear this has been reflected in your experience. My partner has been a resident of Bemerton Lodge since May 2025. At Christmas she became very poorly and was admitted to hospital. After five weeks, she recovered, and was able to go back to Bemerton Lodge, where her care needs increased.

Rebecca and her team are unfailingly cheerful and caring, always making us feel welcome and going out of their way to make her comfortable. She always smiles

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
