Coombe End Court is located on the outskirts of Marlborough, a historic market town with plenty of shops, offering residential, dementia and respite care services.

The home underwent a major refurbishment in 2016 and now boasts a separate dementia care household, incorporating elements of best practice dementia design to support its residents living with dementia.

As part of the refurbishment, a new café, cinema and shop were added to bring the heart of the home to life, with lounges and the hair salon also being updated for resident comfort and relaxation.

Spacious bedrooms with en-suite facilities look out onto landscaped gardens, and the team of staff are on hand at all times to ensure every resident continues to be as independent as they can be.

There is a varied programme of events, activities and outings where residents can continue to pursue their hobbies and interests and also try some new things out. Daily social activities include:

physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care my mum received at Coombe End Court in the last three months of her life. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and treated her with real dignity and warmth, supporting our whole family through a very difficult time.
In her final days, their care was exceptional.
They kept her comfortable and were always there when we needed reassurance. It meant so much knowing she was in such caring hands.
They also arranged a beautiful funeral tea, which many attendees commented on.
I know Care homes don't always have the best reputation, but Coombe End Court truly stands apart. I am deeply grateful to all the staff for the compassion and support they showed my mum and our family

The dementia wing at Coombe End Court (Pearl) where my wife is a resident has a very friendly, welcoming ambience, as does the whole care home. The care team on Pearl are all very kind and gentle, nothing being too much trouble for those they are looking after. The management at CEC are a highly skilled
and motivated team who put the residents first, and are scrupulous in keeping the relatives well informed of everything concerning their loved one. The kitchen (and the food which emanates from it) is quite exceptional for a care home. In summary I remain beyond delighted with the way that CEC look after my wife.

I feel mum is very well looked after and on the whole in clothing coordinate which in the past would have mattered to her. I think perhaps more activities would be good than I do realise it might be hard to get residents in Pearl to cooperate.

I brought my husband in for 11 days while I went on holiday. He has dementia. He has been staying on + off for about 2 years. He enjoys his time here and is always made welcome + comfortable.

My father has been in Coombe End for 10 weeks and generally it has been a positive experience. The things he has mentioned which he is less happy about are his breakfast is often late and there is no chair in his room for visitors. Overall things are progressing slowly but hopefully he will settle in
and socialise.

My husband has been here for about 3 months or so due to a flood at his previous home. I come every day to visit him, so I see what goes on here. It is a very good home. I feel so sorry at times when a carer calls in sick, as it is, I am sure very difficult to get another carer at short notice, but
the staff are hard working and very kind to re-home my husband for 1-3 months.

The staff are very friendly and always helpful when I visit.
The activities are good but possibly more needed at weekends as my Nan is more settled with a routine.
We all love the garden and cafe area.

Since being at Coombe End Court (10/22) my mum has thrived in every way, physically and emotionally. She is always beautifully dressed, clean and happy. The care staff are amazing, addressing her every need with kindness and compassion. The range of activities provided by the staff are mentally stimulating,
catering for all needs (mum particularly enjoys the animals and music) The food is of a high standard and wholesome and mum has gained in weight since being here.

Lovely care home everyone is so friednly and kind, always loads of activities for people to do.

Concerning activities - staff are very good in encouraging my mother but depending on how tired she is, she will join the activities. More often than not however, she declines. As vistors, we are always made welcome. We are very happy at how well Pam is looked after.

My mum has been at Coombe End Court for the past year and a bit. The staff and management have been enormously helpful, caring and consistent. Mum took a while to settle in but seems happy now. We can't thank you enough for you help over the past year.

My dear mum has been a resident at Coombe End Court for over 14 years. She has seen a lot of faces come and go. It took mum a few years to get used to being in a care home environment, she now calls it her home, which is nice to hear. Mum likes to feel clean and tidy which is always the case. She enjoys
the activities and enjoys a game of Scrabble. She is always happy with the meals unless it is pork, which causes a frown. As mum has gotten older and less able, the staff she finds are so caring and considerate towards her needs. I would recommend Coombe End Court for a loved ones care.

Lovely home my mum has been there a year now.
It has taken a while for her to settle in. However the staff and care given has made the transition much easy and kinder.

My father came for respite, after a long hospitalisation period, around 6 months ago, and is now a permanent resident. We chose it for him due to its homeliness, spaciousness, cleanliness, nicely appointed and well maintained rooms, and how approachable everyone was. We love the care home cat too!
Dad
always says how caring and respectful the care staff are to him. He has had a few hospitalisations since, and the care team have mostly been good at communicating with us. He's always so relieved to be back home afterwards!
Our family have been similarly welcomed here, and we have made use of the fantastic cafe area, private dining room for family occasions, and joined him for occasional meals.
The activity team are fantastic, and the events timetable is full, varied and bring dad much joy. The animal visits are his highlights, along with any musical events. We have enjoyed the fairs and coffee mornings that bring families and residents together.
We appreciate all they do.

My mother came into Coombe End Court in February after suffering a stroke in October 2022, as she was finding living on her own with stairs and looking after herself very difficult. After 6 months, she has improved considerably and I have total peace of mind. She does find having to live and eat with
other people. Quite stressful as she has always been very independent and living on her own most of her life.

This wonderful home with its wonderful staff took my father-in-law in for the night in an emergency. They showed compassion and care second to none, supporting him in his time of need. He was so happy with his care, he would happily return.

Hannah Mason

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2018

Hannah has worked in Health and Social Care since the age of 16, starting her career as a carer in a small residential home. From the very beginning, Hannah realised that supporting and caring for elderly people was something she was truly passionate about.


Hannah went on to study Health and Social Care at Level 3 and quickly progressed within the care sector. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of roles, including Care Assistant, Night Care Assistant, and Senior Care Assistant. Hannah remained in a Senior Care Assistant role for around eight years, during which time she expanded her knowledge, developed her leadership skills, and completed her QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care.


In 2018, Hannah joined The Orders of St John and was later appointed as Deputy Home Manager, continuing to build her experience across a range of homes and services. This provided her with a wealth of experience and a broad range of skills to support different care settings and individual needs.


In 2023, Hannah was appointed as Home Manager and has since also supported other homes from a Peripatetic perspective. Hannah is extremely passionate about sharing her experience with others, supporting teams to embed compliance, and driving continuous improvements in standards of care.


Most recently, Hannah has completed her Level 7 qualification, further strengthening her leadership and management expertise within the Health and Social Care sector.

Vanessa Coles

Job Title: Care Leader Joined: 2013

Vanessa has always worked in healthcare, with some years with the ambulance service before joining the Trust and Coombe End Court. She started as a carer and soon found she was learning more skills and was promoted.


Vanessa loves how supportive the team at Coombe End Court is, getting to know the residents and listening to all their fascinating life stories. Getting to know the residents’ families is also very important to Vanessa so that they feel able to come to her if ever they need anything.
