Icknield Court is a vibrant and friendly care home located within the town of Princes Risborough. Providing residential and dementia care, the home offers a comfortable environment with a strong sense of community.

The kind and experienced care team take the time to build relationships with residents and get to know each individual’s preferences, so that high quality person centred care can be delivered to all.

The home is split across six ‘houses’, all with communal spaces which are ideal for meeting up with friends and family. There are two lovely enclosed courtyard gardens, both designed to be dementia friendly, interactive and stimulating that everyone can enjoy at their leisure.

Activities are arranged by the enthusiastic co-ordinator to ensure a range of hobbies and interests are catered for including painting and reminiscence activities.

The care team are amazing. Mum is very happy at Ickneild Court. The care mum receives is exactly what she needs to keep her safe and well. The team are alway attentive to individuals needs. Very happy with mum's care. She is always clean, and all her needs are met. Her room is always clean and tidy. Some belongings disappear, some turn up again, some don't, even though they are all labelled. Mum seems happy, which is our prime concern.l

My lovely dad has been with you for about 3 weeks, he is so much happier than his last home. Its so great to see him smile and have a laugh with all the staff. Thank you so much to house 4 for making him feel so comfortable, when I come for visits everyone is so great I feel complete peace.

My wife has not settled in well but this is due to her condition! The staff have worked hard to welcome her and get her to join in with their residents. I am impressed that the home has provided a room to allow her to entertain friends. My family considered this to be over and above what we expected.

I have had great support and kindness from all the staff since I came here early August on a temporary basis.
It helped me to gain confidence and I have had a happy stay.

To know that my father is keen to return to his home after a lovely day out with me gives me reassurance of how safe, secure, and happily well-looked after, he is at Icknield Court. I have peace of mind knowing he is in the best place for him., I feel heard when talking to staff. His main carer has
taken the time to get to know him and his little ways to ease his anxiety. We are comforted to know the hardest decision we as a family had to make moving dad here was not very hard. For that, we will be forever grateful.

My husband spent 4 weeks here everyone was good. The only problem I had to ask after nearly 3 weeks was for him to have a shower and to empty his bin with stoma bags - very smelly.

I cannot fault the care and love shown to my mum's recent death. She loved the carers, I had no worries about her care, I was always kept up to date with any issues. She was so happy, always looked cared for, even to her nails and jewellery and regular baths which she loved. Thank you so much.

My mum has been a guest of Icknield Court Care Home since February 2023. At first, she was her grumpy self but in the last five months, never seen her happier, she is really settled which is great as she is a good mum. So thank you Icknield Court.

From the moment I first visited to explore Icknield Court Care Home as a suitable care home for my 94-year-old mother, throughout the time she was resident to the sad time when she passed away just four months later, the welcome and care all of us received was exemplary. As an ex-headmistress, my mother
was a fiercely independent and intelligent lady who had exacting standards that her family and those around her could find tricky to meet! So once her frailty meant she was no longer able to safely live alone, we worried that she would find it difficult to settle into life in a care home. However, the caring, friendly, social, energetic atmosphere throughout the whole of Icknield Court meant that she immediately felt at home and threw herself into life there, particularly enjoying the wide-ranging activities. It was always about her as an individual and nothing was ever too much trouble for any of the staff who were always flexible to any request. And critically, always kind, caring and respectful.

My mother has been here now for two weeks and I have found the care home excellent. It is clean and well-maintained, food looks good and facilities are excellent. I find the staff very pleasant, helpful, polite and respectful. My sister and I feel that we could not have found a better home for our mother.

Emma Fielder

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

I began my career in Health and Social Care back in 2002 in my hometown of North Wales, working as a Care Assistant. It was there that I discovered my passion for supporting others. In 2007, I became a Registered Nurse, earning a BSc (Hons) in Nursing, and in 2015, I completed a master’s degree in management.


Over the years, I’ve worked in Nursing and Dementia care environments, and I genuinely love what I do. Caring for others is such a privilege—being a part of someone’s life is incredibly special and something I value deeply.


What inspired me to work in the care sector


For me, nursing wasn’t just a career choice; it felt like a calling. One morning, I woke up and said to myself, “I want to be a nurse!” My late grandmother, who was a retired Night Sister, inspired me to take that step. Her dedication and passion for overseeing high-quality care have always been a source of motivation for me.


My passions outside of work


When I’m not at work, I love spending time outdoors, especially on long walks in the countryside or visiting new places with my family. I also enjoy tending to my garden, which is filled with a variety of flowers and even includes a large grapevine—I take great pride in it!


What makes me proud of Icknield Court


I’m genuinely excited to be part of the Icknield Court team. We have a “home from home” approach to care, which creates such a warm and welcoming environment for residents.


Even though we’re a large team, we’ve managed to build a strong sense of family, and every day feels different and fulfilling. Our well-being programme is full and varied, involving our residents in meaningful activities and staying connected to the local community.


It’s the little things—watching the team make a real difference, seeing residents smile, and having fun together—that make me so proud to lead here at Icknield Court.
