Icknield Court is a vibrant and friendly care home located within the town of Princes Risborough. Providing residential and dementia care, the home offers a comfortable environment with a strong sense of community.

The kind and experienced care team take the time to build relationships with residents and get to know each individual’s preferences, so that high quality person centred care can be delivered to all.

The home is split across six ‘houses’, all with communal spaces which are ideal for meeting up with friends and family. There are two lovely enclosed courtyard gardens, both designed to be dementia friendly, interactive and stimulating that everyone can enjoy at their leisure.

Activities are arranged by the enthusiastic co-ordinator to ensure a range of hobbies and interests are catered for including painting and reminiscence activities.

The staff are very helpful. The care home is clean and tidy. Booking an appointment happens with ease. My nan is well looked after. My name has always said the food is good and looked after, she is happy here. My nan likes and enjoys the activities.

From the moment I entered the home, I felt safe and happy. The staff started talking about clothes and hair; I was very happy. I absolutely love the food. It is healthy, suitable and delicious.

Management and care staff have worked very hard during a very difficult time and not neglecting the residents. The staff have always been polite and friendly. Icknield Court has a friendly homely feel about it.

Excellent!
The care staff and those on reception are friendly, knowledgeable, patient and good-humoured.
The catering is first class - particularly the birthday cake!
Dad is there during lockdown and so visiting is tricky..... no problem... video calls are arranged easily and efficiently.

Difficult year with Covid, and I think the home coped extremely well in the circumstances. Some management changes have improved certain areas, and I cannot speak too highly of the care staff directly involved in supporting my mother.

I think the staff are doing an amazing job at a very difficult time. I'm not online but have been kept in touch with each development either by phone or letter. I have been able to speak to my sister in her room by a member of staff cheerfully handing out a mobile. Obviously, we haven't been able to
visit so can't get an overall picture but at Christmas, the whole place was very festive and colourful with lots of activities taking place. I look forward to visiting again next week.

Afternoon tea could have been better. Sandwiches had too much filling and were white bread (my mother prefers brown). Small, dry fairy cake - did look a bit dull.

Thank you for the wonderful care you have provided for my grandad. Nothing is too much trouble and I am so grateful to all the staff there for their hard work. I recently moved to Australia and the staff have done everything they can to allow me to communicate with him regularly, including phone calls
in the middle of the night, video calls Via google Duo and the familygram app.


Thank you again. It is a great comfort to know the staff really care as if he was part of their family.

My father has been a resident at Icknield Court for 3 years. During the first two years we were weekly weekend visitors and always found Dad happy and well and usually entertaining the staff with a song or two. Tea and biscuits were always free-flowing and the staff always delighted to see us.
This
last year has been so difficult with the Covid virus reducing our visiting options. However the staff at Icknield Court have been absolutely amazing with ensuring that garden visits and then socially distanced room visits were available. They also kept us updated with regular phone calls.
During the last two weeks my dads Alzheimer's accelerated and he passed away peacefully last night. Every member of staff sought me out to tell me how much they loved my dad and how much he would be missed.
The team at Icknield Court are amazing and I feel truly blessed that my dad was cared for by such a caring team.

Mum has been here for 4 years and is extremely happy. Mum has had Santa visit today and is feeling festive! Lots of activities going on over Christmas! The manager came in and wished us all Merry Christmas which was nice and was giving out chocolate! The checks as we entered were very thorough! Plenty

I can confidently say, in 10-years my father has been a resident at Icknield Court, my family and I have never had to question whether or not he is in the right place. The high level of care and attention he continues to receive has not only been consistent, but his wants and needs have always been

My mother has vascular dementia which is very upsetting for her and for her family. However, the care that the staff at Icknield have shown towards her and their tremendous kindness especially doing this incredibly testing time of COVID has been so consoling and so very excellent. We have been able
to relax over Christmas knowing that my mother had not only a superb menu of Christmas food to choose and enjoy; but also lots of fun things like pyjama parties, karaoke, visits from Father Christmas to enjoy. This made our own Christmas without her; something also special. I cannot thank the staff especially in House 1 enough for their extraordinary caring attitudes and kindness. We have been kept informed at all stages of the action taken to protect the residents from Covid and this is reassuring. We are very much hoping that the vaccine will arrive soon in the Home. Well done staff and residents for everything you put into your lives there. We are very proud of you.

Emma Fielder

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

I began my career in Health and Social Care back in 2002 in my hometown of North Wales, working as a Care Assistant. It was there that I discovered my passion for supporting others. In 2007, I became a Registered Nurse, earning a BSc (Hons) in Nursing, and in 2015, I completed a master’s degree in management.


Over the years, I’ve worked in Nursing and Dementia care environments, and I genuinely love what I do. Caring for others is such a privilege—being a part of someone’s life is incredibly special and something I value deeply.


What inspired me to work in the care sector


For me, nursing wasn’t just a career choice; it felt like a calling. One morning, I woke up and said to myself, “I want to be a nurse!” My late grandmother, who was a retired Night Sister, inspired me to take that step. Her dedication and passion for overseeing high-quality care have always been a source of motivation for me.


My passions outside of work


When I’m not at work, I love spending time outdoors, especially on long walks in the countryside or visiting new places with my family. I also enjoy tending to my garden, which is filled with a variety of flowers and even includes a large grapevine—I take great pride in it!


What makes me proud of Icknield Court


I’m genuinely excited to be part of the Icknield Court team. We have a “home from home” approach to care, which creates such a warm and welcoming environment for residents.


Even though we’re a large team, we’ve managed to build a strong sense of family, and every day feels different and fulfilling. Our well-being programme is full and varied, involving our residents in meaningful activities and staying connected to the local community.


It’s the little things—watching the team make a real difference, seeing residents smile, and having fun together—that make me so proud to lead here at Icknield Court.
