Icknield Court is a vibrant and friendly care home located within the town of Princes Risborough. Providing residential and dementia care, the home offers a comfortable environment with a strong sense of community.

The kind and experienced care team take the time to build relationships with residents and get to know each individual’s preferences, so that high quality person centred care can be delivered to all.

The home is split across six ‘houses’, all with communal spaces which are ideal for meeting up with friends and family. There are two lovely enclosed courtyard gardens, both designed to be dementia friendly, interactive and stimulating that everyone can enjoy at their leisure.

Activities are arranged by the enthusiastic co-ordinator to ensure a range of hobbies and interests are catered for including painting and reminiscence activities.

My mum is currently on 7 weeks respite with the hope of a permanent placement. The facilities are excellent and the staff are extremely friendly, caring, helpful and enthusiastic with all they have to deal with. The food is excellent and mum has been very happy here. I joined her in a karaoke morning
with other residents which she really enjoyed and also the afternoon tea party. The management is very kind and helpful and I would say this is a 5-star establishment.

Since my mum has been here she's got a new lease of life. The manager and his team are fantastic and so caring. They always make sure the residents and family are happy. The family now know that mum is happy and safe in their care. A big thank you to the management and his team.

My husband was admitted to Icknield COurt as an emergency admission eleven days later I visited home. I was truly impressed. The home is clean, tidy and well run. The staff are exceptional in the way they care. The activities programme is well thought out. The food is excellent, the portions are more
than adequate. I would not hesitate to ask Icknield Court to take my husband for respite care or even long term should the need arise.

My mother came into Icknield Court at the end of March 2021. As a family, we were concerned that she would settle in. She is so happy and contented. The staff are amazing, all of them, so kind and caring. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely care home. A home from home. Thank you to the manager

Always very attentive and caring. Attended a really fabulous garden party BBQ with the staff, residents and relatives, dancing and entertainment. A great afternoon. The food was outstanding and the portion sizes enormous.

My mother has been with you for 2/3 weeks at present, on my visits and phone calls I have found everyone to be very pleasant, helpful and a good willingness to help. It is a difficult time for all at present but this certainly does not seem to have affected the staff and colleagues willingness to do
an excellent job. I have not seen the rooms etc but I am sure they are very adequate. I have not seen activities etc but the staff are excellent.

I’d like to say how wonderful the two members of staff were at the door when we arrived at 1ish to set up for Nanas 100th! They were so welcoming, friendly and helped my father and me do our flow tests. Our party room was large & Homely. Our Pink theme was honoured, they provided a pink tablecloth,
pretty crockery and napkins etc. The sandwiches were delicious, fresh and nicely presented. The manager exceeded all expectations by kindly going out of his way to assist us with connecting my presentation to the care homes system. We could never have done it without him, that kind act made my Nana’s birthday celebration all that more special and removed a week's worth of stress from my shoulders! I loved some of the special touches, the piano, drum kit, bongo drums. The chicken pen, the gardens, the projection of the moving butterfly’s in the hallway, football decorations in the lobby. Nana has warmed to the carer and others I’m yet to meet. Loved the physio lady, she was fab!

We had such a glorious afternoon with our relative, celebrating her 100th birthday! It's Covid, and we were all so nervous about what was/is doable - and yet, the entire team made us as comfortable and helped us most. A wonderful tea party. While I must add - still caring (lifting, moving, handling)
for our relative - so grateful. It's such a beautiful place. Clean, beautifully kept - did not expect such kindness.

Mum was well looked after by the team who were really friendly and patient with her in these difficult times. If I lived nearer I would want to stay here but unfortunately, she now needs nursing care.

I’ve been in home for couple of weeks, having great food and drinks, going home to my home tomorrow, and have to do those things for myself, It’s a very nice place to live and nice carers too, I’ve had good accommodation, with all that I need. They also have things to do,that lots of people won’t normally
have a chance to do, had my hair cut yesterday in the home, and the woman done a good job ,at good price. Thanks.

Only having been able under strict Covid regulations to travel from Scotland into England, my wife and I journeyed by car early in May to visit our daughter who is a youthful resident at Icknield Court. Following a very long trip, we were welcomed with much dignity and respect as aged senior citizens.
It had been over one year since we had been able to see our beloved daughter in person, except for regular video calls and, of course, emotions were very evident. During the three days we were in the area we could not have been treated more respectfully by both management and staff, including being able to snack, lunch and breakfast with our daughter as well as being able to take her out for a run in the car. Only departure back home to Scotland, for now, was difficult for us both to cope with.

The staff at Icknield Court made a special effort to arrange and organise a 100th Birthday celebration for my mother. Even during the difficult periods of the pandemic they did an excellent job and made the day memorable for her, even though guest numbers were very limited.

Emma Fielder

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

I began my career in Health and Social Care back in 2002 in my hometown of North Wales, working as a Care Assistant. It was there that I discovered my passion for supporting others. In 2007, I became a Registered Nurse, earning a BSc (Hons) in Nursing, and in 2015, I completed a master’s degree in management.


Over the years, I’ve worked in Nursing and Dementia care environments, and I genuinely love what I do. Caring for others is such a privilege—being a part of someone’s life is incredibly special and something I value deeply.


What inspired me to work in the care sector


For me, nursing wasn’t just a career choice; it felt like a calling. One morning, I woke up and said to myself, “I want to be a nurse!” My late grandmother, who was a retired Night Sister, inspired me to take that step. Her dedication and passion for overseeing high-quality care have always been a source of motivation for me.


My passions outside of work


When I’m not at work, I love spending time outdoors, especially on long walks in the countryside or visiting new places with my family. I also enjoy tending to my garden, which is filled with a variety of flowers and even includes a large grapevine—I take great pride in it!


What makes me proud of Icknield Court


I’m genuinely excited to be part of the Icknield Court team. We have a “home from home” approach to care, which creates such a warm and welcoming environment for residents.


Even though we’re a large team, we’ve managed to build a strong sense of family, and every day feels different and fulfilling. Our well-being programme is full and varied, involving our residents in meaningful activities and staying connected to the local community.


It’s the little things—watching the team make a real difference, seeing residents smile, and having fun together—that make me so proud to lead here at Icknield Court.
