Icknield Court is a vibrant and friendly care home located within the town of Princes Risborough. Providing residential and dementia care, the home offers a comfortable environment with a strong sense of community.

The kind and experienced care team take the time to build relationships with residents and get to know each individual’s preferences, so that high quality person centred care can be delivered to all.

The home is split across six ‘houses’, all with communal spaces which are ideal for meeting up with friends and family. There are two lovely enclosed courtyard gardens, both designed to be dementia friendly, interactive and stimulating that everyone can enjoy at their leisure.

Activities are arranged by the enthusiastic co-ordinator to ensure a range of hobbies and interests are catered for including painting and reminiscence activities.

My father has just spent a week in respite care to allow me to go on holiday, and I must say his care was amazing. The facilities were great, and the home is clean and very well looked after. The staff are truly wonderful, each and every one of them; they do an amazing job and are so helpful in every
way. Only one small thing some of the younger staff members struggled to get Dad's hearing in, and without them, he is deaf.
He said the food was great, he enjoyed every meal, and the rooms were bright and clean, but I would suggest taking your own TV in if your loved one is in respite. He loved the activities, said one lady and the team were fantastic and made him feel very welcome and part of everything, so a huge thank you to her for doing such a great job. You even had him singing, which he has not done since my mum passed away. The manager was also very helpful, as I had never put Dad into respite before; he was very helpful with all my questions. I would recommend this home to anyone in the future.

A lovely afternoon spent celebrating the Queens Platinum Jubilee. All staff are very welcoming and attentive to the residents. Everyone seems happy and well cared for.

My mother has been in Icknield Court for about 7 months and in the time she has resided there I have seen tremendous improvements in her. This is due to her having people around her. The staff are great and are not afraid to ask my advice with regard to my mother's temperament. In turn, my mum gets
on well with the staff and the other residents. I am so pleased she went to Icknield Court and this is a testament to all concerned who also go out of their way to welcome me as well.

The care at Icknield Court is second to none. The staff are always organising various activities for ht residents and my grandad seems to have settled in so well.

What a lovely Photography Exhibition evening. A lot of trouble was gone too. Canapes delicious, drinks flowing and fun had by all. The staff made sure everyone was looked after as well as their residents. Love coming here.

I have found the home very friendly. The staff have all been brilliant and my father-in-law seems to have settled in nicely. My family liked the feel of the home on their first visit and they made a good decision. Thanks to all the staff.

A fantastic care home with very friendly and supportive staff. The care home is well presented and does have a warm and friendly atmosphere. My family and I have been given so much help, support and encouragement during the process and have taken such great care of my grandad since he took residence
a few weeks ago.

I just wanted to express our thanks to all the staff and management team at Icknield Court for the care and support you have provided to my mother since she first came to the home in August 2021. She had stayed at the home for respite some 2-3 years earlier and the experience was not great. The changes
implemented over the last year or so have transformed the home. In just a matter of months, we have seen a huge change in mums health and wellbeing. She engages with all the activities and is just happy and content. She has made lots of new friends and that staff have simply been amazing. I cannot thank you enough for all your care and support.

A lovely Halloween party. All the staff were dressed up and the room was decorated beautifully.

Today was Icknield Courts Halloween Party which was a very good Party the activities was first class everyone was enjoying themselves and dancing together. The food and drink was a really nice touch and the singer was really good. The home looked lovely and clean and very welcoming.

I would like to thank all the staff for their kindness. professionalism and care they have shown my mum over the previous and difficult year. As a family, you've shown us a lot of support for instance giving us up to date information with phone calls, emails, letters etc and most importantly any change
in mum's health or care. We have also been very lucky to have been able to visit mum when safe to do so.

With thanks to all departments, admin, carers, seniors, maintenance, housekeeping and kitchen. So very pleased to have my mother reside here at Icknield Court.
The whole process from the beginning has been an experience I wished we had gone through with other care providers. On each of my visits, I

Emma Fielder

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

I began my career in Health and Social Care back in 2002 in my hometown of North Wales, working as a Care Assistant. It was there that I discovered my passion for supporting others. In 2007, I became a Registered Nurse, earning a BSc (Hons) in Nursing, and in 2015, I completed a master’s degree in management.


Over the years, I’ve worked in Nursing and Dementia care environments, and I genuinely love what I do. Caring for others is such a privilege—being a part of someone’s life is incredibly special and something I value deeply.


What inspired me to work in the care sector


For me, nursing wasn’t just a career choice; it felt like a calling. One morning, I woke up and said to myself, “I want to be a nurse!” My late grandmother, who was a retired Night Sister, inspired me to take that step. Her dedication and passion for overseeing high-quality care have always been a source of motivation for me.


My passions outside of work


When I’m not at work, I love spending time outdoors, especially on long walks in the countryside or visiting new places with my family. I also enjoy tending to my garden, which is filled with a variety of flowers and even includes a large grapevine—I take great pride in it!


What makes me proud of Icknield Court


I’m genuinely excited to be part of the Icknield Court team. We have a “home from home” approach to care, which creates such a warm and welcoming environment for residents.


Even though we’re a large team, we’ve managed to build a strong sense of family, and every day feels different and fulfilling. Our well-being programme is full and varied, involving our residents in meaningful activities and staying connected to the local community.


It’s the little things—watching the team make a real difference, seeing residents smile, and having fun together—that make me so proud to lead here at Icknield Court.
