My partner has excellent care from all the staff, demonstrated most recently when he has been quite ill. He is surrounded by kindness and encouragement, concern and optimism. Staff have popped in to his room with cheerful smiles and friendly comments.
The Manager is very approachable and I find
it valuable to share her experience concerning my partner's care.
There is a wide variety of activities for residents to enjoy and become involved in throughout the year. My partner particularly enjoys music of all genres (classical and popular). He loves being entertained by the weekly singers, and occasionally by an opera singer. The choir, of which he is a former member, has been invited to perform in the home. My partner enjoys flower and vegetable gardening in the grounds during the spring and summer months.
Staff take time and consideration to match hobbies so that residents remain stimulated and active. A friendly atmosphere where residents physical and mental wellbeing matter.

The staff have been marvellous to mum. And she can be challenging. It is spotlessly clean and the food lovely. They are always accommodating when we have a family meet for her birthday on may when she will be 100. We have no complaints

We honestly couldn't have asked for a better place for my dad. From the moment he arrived, the care, kindness and respect shown to him, and to us as a family has been exceptional. The staff go above and beyond every single day, not just meeting his needs but genuinely caring about his wellbeing, comfort
and happiness. There is such a warm, welcoming atmosphere throughout the home, and it's clear that everyone takes pride in what they do. Communication with the family is excellent, and it gives us real peace of mind knowing my dad is safe, supported and treated with dignity. Thank you to the whole team for everything you do, your compassion and dedication truly make all the difference.

Unfortunately, Dad's dementia has taken a real turn for the worse over the last few months, but the staff at Gregory House have been brilliant in supporting him with his declining health and with his extra care needs. Staff are always welcoming, helpful and supportive with us at such a difficult time.

I cannot praise Gregory House enough. My husband goes for daycare due his dementia. The care he receives is excellent. There appears to be a very low turnover of Staff at Gregory House which indicates high engagement and ensures continuity if care.

My mum attends for Day Care.
All staff are extremely friendly and caring. When we arrive, we are always given a warm welcome and made to feel wanted. Staff are very helpful and always aim to accommodate requests. Meals are provided with a selection to suit all tastes.
My mum enjoys her time here
and is eager to return. As my mum visits for Day Care and doesn't have experience of a room, I have commented as I find the downstairs areas that I have seen and assume rooms are equally as good.
Keep up the good work, everyone.

From the moment my mother-in-law arrived at the home she was made to feel welcome and cared for. Since that time, all of the staff have been extremely attentive to all of her needs. She is very happy and content and we, as a family, feel that is down to the staff and how she is treated. We've always
been kept informed, invited to different functions and welcomed each visit. We sing the praises of this care home all of the time and are extremely thankful that mum has a place here. We can't thank the staff of Gregory House enough for all they do!

My mother entered the care home and she has be resident now for 2 months. A care plan has been developed and implemented to ensure that my mum's needs are met. I am confident that my mum is being looked after by people who care and have experience in making life as comfortable and homely as possible.
The care home is managed with the needs of the residents in mind, and that is a key factor in delivering peace of mind for relatives of the residents.

The staff at Gregory House have been taking excellent care of my mother and particularly so when just before Christmas she had a decline in her health and mobility. The staff went above and beyond to assist and encourage mum to regain mobility and have brought her back to her old self.

Mum has been using the home for 8 months now and from the very first conversations with the staff (and a brief period of respite care prior to full admission), the staff have been so welcoming, supporting and professional. The move to care can be daunting for both the residents and their relatives...Mum
was dealt with so sympathetically and was given great support and was made to feel welcome from the off. I visit regularly with a couple of dogs and the staff (and residents) couldn't make us feel more welcome (often getting requests to bring the dogs back more often!!). I doubt anyone choses a Care Home for fun, but given the support Mum needed support was necessary and the team at Gregory House have made that decision easy. If you need one, this is a good 'un!

Gregory House is a small quiet care home that is well run with very caring and friendly staff.
The interior is warm and welcoming but with some areas needing refreshing. However there are plans in place to make significant changes that will enhance and improve the overall appearance.
The private grounds
are very well kept and a joy for the residents to experience during the summer months.
Overall a very good care home with excellent caring, medical & administrative staff and a very efficient management team.

My husband attends once a week for 1 day. He is always given a very warm welcome and staff make him feel important. He enjoys his lunch and any activities they have during the day.

PS it is not really relevant for me to review rooms as he is a day visitor and does not have a room but reception rooms

are satisfactory.

Care at Gregory House was second to none for my mum at a recent respite visit. Food was good and plentiful and always a choice. In particular, 2 carers really cared for mum. The home is definitely a little tired around the edges and could do with a makeover, but the most important thing is that the
residents are warm, well cared for and respected. This place is super clean.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.830)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.830) out of 10 for Gregory House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.830 for Gregory House is calculated as follows: ( (265 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 311 Ratings = 4.83
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Gregory House is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
