Ermine House

Over several years the staff have been very good dealing with my mother in law and this month have been excellent to increase the level and quality of care and support. The standard of food supplied depends on which chef has produced the meal, therefore I have not scored this aspect.

Mum has been a resident in Ermine House for over 9 years, In this time the staff have been an extended family to her. Unfortunately she has been put on end of life care and the staff have stepped up to support physically and emotionally this need without complaint, having compassion and patience throughout.

Came in for respite again for one week. Staff amazing as usual, friendly, helpful and caring. Will be back in August. Looking forward to it.

The staff at Ermine House are very friendly, caring, and helpful. They supported my sister with compassion and respect. Nothing was too much trouble, and she made some friends whilst she was being cared for. The food was lovely, and they encouraged her to eat, although she lost her appetite, sometimes even going off the menu to make her something she liked.

My mother died recently aged 97. For the past 2 and a half years, she has had respite care at Ermine House for 2 weeks, 4 times a year. I cannot praise the staff enough. They are kind, caring, and well organised. We could rest easy knowing she was in safe hands and receiving the best care.

During the past 4 years, my mother has been in Ermine House the manager and staff have always been welcoming and open. The day-to-day running of this home is exceptional, including trips, activities and social events which Mum is happy to participate in. I would never wish for my mum to be cared for and looked after in any other home.

Went in with trepidation but was quickly put at ease with the friendly staff. The food was very good with plenty of choice. The kitchen staff were extremely accommodating. I am sure I put weight on. The care was excellent; nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The room was spacious, light and clean.

The staff and management are very caring. First class!

My mother was a resident at Ermine House for 7 years and suffered from Alzheimer's. She enjoyed participating in the life of the home and built up friendships. She moved to a larger room which she loved and was proud of her ability to use the shower by herself. Having ensuite facilities was not an issue. She passed in December 2024 and the care and compassion of staff that I witnessed and benefitted from in the final days was exceptional. To me the staff who also talked to me about my mum what she got up to, are the most important ingredient and social care.

My wife was only a resident for 4 days before she died, so I am unable to give an in-depth review, However, all the staff proved to be sympathetic and caring.

Mum had a lovely premium en suite and the staff were excellent and without exception, they were welcoming and attentive. Mum remained in her room due to poor mobility so I cannot comment on other facilities.

I was a resident at Ermine House for 11 days following a hip replacement operation. Although my needs were not as much as expected at all times my care was excellent. I was treated with respect, kindness and patience. I was impressed with all the care shown to fellow residents, particularly the "difficult ones". I was particularly impressed not only with the meals but the care and concern shown by all the kitchen staff.

Staff have given excellent care and are an asset to the organisation.

Both my mother and father in their later years found themselves in need of 24-hour care, Ermine House was our first choice for Mum. The excellent care that she received during her stay and end of life care given by the amazing staff. Made the decision to place father in your caring loving hands. Both of them had amazing quality of life in their final year, months and days was down to the excellent staff who work at Ermine House. Angels on earth, thank you so much - we are better for knowing you.

My dad was a resident at Ermine House for just over a year and settled in well. He loved chatting with everyone and enjoyed the first half of his stay. As his dementia progressed his behaviour became more difficult. All the staff were marvellous and treated him with kindness and respect. They also looked after me when I became upset and provided a welcome cup of tea and reassurance. Thank you to everyone.

A fabulous care home. The care they gave my mum was amazing. The chef catered for mum’s needs. Thank you for making my mum’s last few weeks the most enjoyable and comforting possible. You really are a remarkable home

My father-in-law was a resident at Ermine House for just over a year. He suffered with dementia and therefore wasn't the easiest of people to care for. The staff at Ermine always showed immense kindness to him, everyone we encountered - carers, cleaners and kitchen staff. Whenever we visited the staff were always friendly and welcoming. We are truly grateful for the care he received. Thank you!

At a very traumatic time in our lives, staff treated us with loving care and personal attention. We felt welcomed into a family.

She is well fed and well cared for and appreciates it very much.
