Paternoster House offers up to 40 residents compassionate, individualised residential, nursing and respite care. The home is situated in a quiet area of Cirencester, a renowned Cotswold market town. The home has pretty, well-maintained gardens, is close to the church and pleasant parkland and within a short walking distance of the shops.

Cosy lounges are available to relax in, as is the secure garden on sunny days and social activities take place daily for your enjoyment. If however, you'd like a little more privacy, then your own bedroom offers a peaceful oasis. To give you the support you need when you need it, a friendly, professionally trained team are on hand around-the-clock to support you in how you wish to spend your day enabling you to continue to enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.

A dedicated Activities Coordinator organises a varied programme of events around each individual's requests, hobbies and interests. The team will be delighted to assist you to continue with existing pastimes, as well as give you the opportunity to try something new if you would like to. They make sure everyone is able to enjoy themselves to the fullest, be that with arts and crafts, a coffee morning or more individual pursuits. Visits from outside entertainers happen regularly. The home has access to a Trust minibus for trips out.

A talented cook and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals. The freshly prepared, delicious dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and take into account individual dietary requirements and preferences. Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join.

These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and

Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

My dear sister sadly passed away at Paternoster on 2nd August after excellent care since January 2025, the kindness & dignity shown by every member of staff associated with her was second to none, we spent every day of her last week by her side and the staff couldn't have been kinder they certainly
made what was a dreadful time for us more bearable with plenty of comfort, tea etc, we couldn't have asked for anywhere better for my sister to live out her last days and take comfort in the knowledge she was so happy there..

From the moment my mother arrived at Paternoster House in January this year through to her sad passing in August, each and every staff member has excelled in their own particular role.


Be they front-facing within the reception, daily carers, senior nurses, cleaners, kitchen or maintenance staff,

their warmth, genuine kindness, humility and love is apparent throughout the entire house-hold; therein absolute peace of mind that mum was always in the best possible professional and loving care.

As soon as I entered through the door and was greeted with warmth and smiles, I knew I was in a place that was very special. Music and light were in the lift and I was guided to my friend's room - it was home from home. Immaculate crisp bed linen, pretty top, birdsong flowing through the window and

All of the staff are patient and caring. They treat the residents with dignity and respect- even when that requires one to one help/reassurance. Potential improvements, many rooms not having ensuite toilets, use commodes. These can get smelly. Opening windows is not always acceptable. It would be helpful
to install extractor fans. Other than that, the home is comfortable and well equipped, and is kept clean and safe.

My brother had a very bad 2023 and spent most of it in hospital. When we went to Paternoster House in 2024 I expected him not to last very long. Mum began living in the Paternoster Nursing Care Home in early January. She has dementia which has progressed rapidly and she has lost all mobility. Her needs are intense.
The staff at Paternoster have been incredibly friendly and supportive to Mum, and to our family. They've allowed us to decorate
Mum's room so it feels very much like home.
Every time we visit Mum, we are struck by the friendly, secure, family atmosphere in the home - and that goes for not just the staff but the other residents. It is a happy place. Dogs and other pets are welcome to visit, and there are activities such as music with the amazing charity Mindsong which Mum enjoys.
We are very confident in the level of professional care being provided for Mum at Paternoster, and grateful to those providing it.

My dad receives excellent care. The staff are lovely and treat him with dignity and patience even at times when things are difficult. They look to ensure that all the residents have the best quality of life possible whilst living with Alzheimer's. It is like a home from home in the Paternoster family

I think the staff do a very good job in sometimes challenging circumstances. A major issue seems to be the lift which is almost out of order for as long as it is useable. Mum recently moved to Paternoster House from another care home in Cirencester, where in our opinion and safeguarding opinion she had been neglected. She was in bed all day and her weight went down to under 6 stone. Since being at Paternoster for the last three weeks she is a new woman. The care she

Attended a garden party for the Jubilee. Event was well organised and attended well by residents, family members and staff. Sharon

Sharon Dewsbury

Job Title: Activities Co-ordinator Joined: 2013

Sharon has worked as the Activities Co-ordinator at Paternoster House since 2013 but has worked in the care industry for over 18 years.
Sharon has completed a level 3 qualification in dementia care and has completed her care certificate too. Sharon likes that every day at work is different, one day she could be organising a party, trips out or organising outdoor games the next she could be organising dementia friendly cinemas, entertainers or just arranging a varied programme of activities that are tailored to meet the residents’ interests and preferences.
Sharon’s fondest memory is when Paternoster House had two residents who turned 100, all the staff dressed in vintage clothes from a variety of era’s, and everyone enjoyed a brilliant party.
Outside of work Sharon loves taking her two terriers for a walk and socialising with friends and family.

Lindsey

Lindsey Worthy

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2020

Lindsey is the Home Manager at Paternoster House, having taken on the role permanently in March 2025. She joined the Trust in August 2020 after relocating from Devon, where she previously ran her own catering business for 10 years.


Lindsey began her OSJCT journey as a Bursar before moving to the eCare team as a Subject Matter Expert, supporting homes across divisions with the rollout of digital care planning. In 2024, she transitioned into the Trainee Home Manager role within the Oxford division, where she achieved her Level 5 qualification in Operations Management. During this time, she also supported the reopening of the day centre at Lake House in Adderbury, which had been closed since the pandemic. Lindsey is currently working towards her Level 7 Senior Leader qualification.


Lindsey finds the most rewarding part of her role is helping residents maintain their independence. She is proud to be part of a team at Paternoster that truly feels like family.
