View Full Details of Church Farm at RusticusI am very happy with the care my husband receives at Rusticus The staff are always kind and caring even with residents who are difficult to deal with .I have noticed that my suggestion about the sun being too hot coming through the skylights has been dealt with and is so much better I have also noticed that after a meal staff now go round and clean the floor as soon as residents are settled in armchairs. I would definitely recommend this nursing home to anyone looking for good care for their loved ones
As far as I am aware my husband is well cared for. I have not been able to visit him in recent weeks due to my ill health but it gives me peace of mind that they will ring me if there are any issues.
This is a lovely home with lots of character (the grounds, staff and residents!) When my relative transitioned to another home Rusticus made is easy, nothing was too much trouble, the managers explained everything in clear detail and I felt at ease. I have been involved in all aspects of her care and when I visit everyone is so welcoming. Everyone is so kind, I see lots of things happening and unlike the previous home, residents are not just sat around sleeping or staring into space with nothing to do and just 'wasting away'. It's good to see the wonderful work that goes on to keeping people with lots of needs, happy and well. My relative has flourished and that is all due to the collective efforts of the staff.
All the staff are brilliant with my dad. Whenever I visit the staff are so patient and kind with him and with other residents. They are excellent at keeping everyone calm. My dad has settled well and as a family we are very happy with the home.
I find everyone very friendly always smiling and very helpful. I am able to ask questions and get answers and anything I have concerns about is always actioned upon. I feel the garden area is neglected and looks untidy. Colour is important to people with Dementia and this lacking in the garden.
My brother and I visit our Mum every week. She has been at Church Farm at Rusticus for approximately 18 months. We always find Mum dressed and clean. She sits quietly by herself most of the time (which is her way) and the staff often stop by to ask her if she is OK, and if she wants a drink or something to eat. We are always made to feel welcome. There are different staff sometimes but we soon get to know them. We expect our Mum to be cared for and looked after to a high standard and we feel that this is what she receives. Unfortunately, looking after people with dementia is not a 'one size fits all' situation, and there are high demands from some residents more than others, but overall, we feel that the staff are caring and do tailor to their needs quite well. We know most of the other residents, too, and they all look well-cared for. A great deal of effort goes into activities, and celebrations of birthdays and significant days in the calendar, too, which is lovely.
My father has received excellent care from Church Farms Rusticus. The Carers are very friendly and professional. Really helpful. Also home is well managed. The manager, deputy and all staff very good. Work hard to make residents feel at home.
Good overall but little niggles i'm afraid with clothing (lost, dirty, ruined or someone else wearing them) and staff should sit with residents that are awake not the ones that are a sleep. Finally hope to see residents sitting outside with this warmer weather we have had & having. Fresh air is good for everyone. My mum loves to be outside.
Very happy with the care my husband receives in the area of the home in which he lives. They are sensitive to his needs and has always been treated with respect. All staff there are receptive to any observations I make and responsive to any issues that may arise.
My mother, has been a resident at the care home for the last 2 years and has settled in really well after a really restless start , I used to call in at 17.00 when they were having their tea and it was a very difficult time for the staff twilight time had kicked in and the residents were very restless, so to call in at 11.00 and see all the residents sat down relaxed having tea eating fruit and a chocolate bar was a real eye opener . The staff are really lovely with the residents and very calming . My only issue is the personnel belongs clothes etc that go missing, my mother collects other people's items also but rooms cannot be locked.
Have always found staff at church farm very helpful and willing to listen. I am happy with the care my sister receives and feel she is in safe hands. At times can be difficult to get through a specific lounge but do appreciate that staff are busy. Overall all my dealings with the home are very positive.
My Father was a resident at Rusticus for 6 months. He was admitted as a very poorly, frail 95 year old, barely able to get out of bed. Hospital specialists thought his life expectancy was weeks, months at best. I am pleased to say that he is leaving as a new man and his health is so much improved that he is now able to live at home with my Mother again. This is due to the wonderful care and kindness of the very dedicated staff in the Hickling Lodge at Rusticus for which the whole family is most grateful.
After several months and two care homes, my husband was placed at Church Farm at Rusticus. What a very welcoming place, all the staff were very helpful to me and to my husband. I know it is very early days, but, it has been the most positive and caring approach by the carer's and support team that has given me confidence that my husband will settle here very well. The home is modern very clean, and spacious. The garden and outdoor areas are beautiful. All in all I can relax and sleep better knowing my loved one is safe and well cared for.
The standard of care I have observed given to the residents is always very good, and delivered with compassion. It's particularly nice to see affection shown to the residents, and see the calming effect and smiles in response. Dad's personal care is delivered with kindness and always offered quietly, acknowledging his need for dignity. Situations that arise, say between residents, seem to be diffused effectively, with respect for everyone involved. I think the staff are great. The managers are also very good and have always responded promptly to the small number of issues or questions I have raised whilst dad has been a resident.
I hate leaving poor reviews but do feel this is necessary. My family member has been at church farm blue bell for some time. I have requested her to be moved a few times and have been informed by social workers that because of report done by the care home it isn't possible as they feel there is no where suitable for her needs. I have witnessed on a few occasions things I'm not happy with. Residents walking around wet or Soild and no staff member seems to be in a rush to help. Residents walking around in dirty clothes and not changed. Iv witnessed residents having lunch and tea put in front of them and not being aided with feeding until there meal is cold. Iv found some of the care staff very uncaring. Some of the staff will go above and beyond. £1000s of pounds spent of clothes and are washed and shrunk. Property lost like teeth and glasses! My family member is bored most of the time and upset! I feel so upset when I visit! Doesn't feel warm or friendly Wish I could write more
I was struggling to find quality day respite for my Alzheimer's suffering wonderful partner who due to his illness presented systems of wanting to walk continuously and explore every where .We were told by a lot of day care facilities they couldn't or wouldn't accommodate him . However this lovely place who actually truly accommodates for the individual not the mass shoes us compassion and patience and they greet us like friends and he always comes come . My partner is precious to me and I feel happy that when he attends he is always welcome .They allow him to walk around but still make sure he's attended too ,given and encouragement to eat there fantastic meals they offer the residents .my partner is happy when there and allows me to have a break and feel ready for another day .Thankyou to everyone .
After my father entered this care home nearly 18 months ago for Dementia, I have nothing but praise for the care, respect and overall commitment of all who work there. Nothing is too much trouble and at least it makes me feel better that he is getting the correct care he needs. Puts my mind at rest knowing that the Carer's, Nurses, Management and cleaning staff treat him well.
In the 4 months our Dad has been in the care of Church Farm, we have been very impressed with the care, compassion & kindness the staff have shown to not only him, but to our family & his friends too. The outdoor space & coffee hub areas are a particular special feature of the home & really do set it aside from so many other places we visited. The food & drink is also superb. The rooms are a very generous size & we've been able to make it as homely as possible. Communication between our family & the home has also to this point, been excellent.
The staff in Hawthorn House deal with a complex and varied set of issues but provide a caring and loving environment for their residents. They form a deep understanding of each individual resident and do the best they can to care for them and to enrich their lives. The residents are treated with respect and I witness small acts of kindness every time I visit.
When I was going through the endless list of care homes, I was very underwhelmed with what was on offer in the local area, that was until I came across Church Farm at Rusticus. I was made to feel welcome, the girls on the receptions were so lovely and helpful, the two managers made me feel at ease, it was so easy to talk to them, they had so much knowledge, both had a caring attitude and I felt at home straight away. It's bright, specious, with lots of things to do. I was shown around, the cafe, cinema and garden is such a special place. Every visit is a pleasure. The food, especially of late, is exceptional, rooms are clean, it smells fresh, of course there are times when dementia patients can make messes but it's clean and tidy and very homely. I am involved in care and get contacted about changes in care needs and the plan of living. My relative has thrived and the staff are amazing. It's a wonderful place. I can't wait to move in!
