The Vicarage Care Home is excellent. My Dad is being looked after very well.
The Staff and facilities are super and he is always clean and well looked after. The home cope extremely well with his high level of needs (dementia and paralysis).
Also, visitors are always made extremely welcome and a
shout out to the Chef who cooks meals to my father's needs and they always smell delicious.

Staff are polite and show respect and care to all the residents.
Food looks good quality ,portion size is very good and plenty of drinks available.
The home inside needs updating but you can see in the last year that the house has been
tidied up.
The gardens are looking lovely now a lovely space to spend time.
I understand my mum enjoys some of the activities, the singing although I do not visit much during the day mostly at weekends.

Everyone seems nice, and helpful and friendly. House is old and could do with being more modern and on one level, with en suite bathrooms. They seem to look after everyone well, although funding is obviously tight in social care now.

Mum is well looked after in a safe warm environment, the staff are friendly and professional, there are activities for the residents to do and her care needs are well taken care of and she seems happy

My mother has been at The Old Vicarage care home for over 2 months now. I can only say that she has had excellent care. Staff are always cheerful and happy. They treat the residents with respect and love. It was a very difficult time for our family, as we had never had the experience of putting a
loved one into care, but the whole staff, including management, made us feel so much better to know that our mother is happy, content and safe. I cannot praise these lovely people more, they are all truly wonderful.

Dad has now been at the Old Vicarage over a year our family would only want the best care for our father and this is the case. As his Alzheimer's progresses his care is always being adapted to take into account his additional needs.
The staff are always friendly and attentive and we have enjoyed
attending the family events such as the VE Day celebrations.

We had used Vicarage Residential Care Home for respite several times for my aunt, so when it came to the time that my aunt needed 24-hour care, we knew exactly where to go. The manager had always been so helpful, and nothing was ever too much to ask. With her strong team, they make it a home from
home for their residents, and when I visit, I never see an unhappy face. Putting a loved one into care is never easy, and I found this very hard. With the help and support of the manager and the home's owner, it made it a lot easier. I will be forever grateful.

At the age of 97, Mum finally became too frail to live independently any more and moved into the Vicarage. She settled remarkably quickly and spoke highly of the care shown by the staff. The management team are very responsive, dealing well with the staff shortages that afflict every care home in
the present climate and attending to Mum's every need. Indeed, the management team encouraged full and frank discussions to ensure Mum settled happily and quickly. As Mum did not have dementia, if anything was amiss, she (or I) would let the management team know and they would amend her care plan as necessary and fully update the staff. Visitors are greeted with a friendly smile, put at ease and made to feel welcome and a part of the community. Her room was bright with large windows looking onto a small patio and garden. Overall, the food was very good and she ate well. I am very happy with the care and attention Mum received during the last few months of her life at this home.

My mother moved into The Old Vicarage in August 2022 having lived with me for the previous thirteen years. It was amazing how quickly she settled and seeing her sitting comfortably and happily surrounded by other residents and caring staff immediately put to rest any worries I had held about a move.
The home is in the beautiful Kent countryside. Her comfortable bedroom overlooks a pretty bird-filled garden with roses outside her window. The care staff are always welcoming, flexible and accommodating about visits. They demonstrate genuine affection for Mummy, greeting her with warmth when we return her after trips out. In the communal areas there is always a buzz of activity and Mummy enjoys watching everything that is going on around her. The food smells delicious and Mummy continues to eat well. In summary, she is thriving in spite of her frailty at the grand age of nearly 97. She is happy and I, and my brothers and sisters, couldn't be happier with this lovely home.

My mum was taken into care after losing my dad and needs 24-hour care. The Old Vicarage have been brilliant. The staff and manager are lovely, really helpful and friendly. The room is great, looking onto the garden, bright and clean. Mum is eating well and settled in really well. They are very
patient with Mum when she is having an off day, especially when Mum is struggling with losing her husband and has dementia.
I can highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to find somewhere for their loved ones. We all feel very relieved.

Mum has been at The Old Vicarage since January. The staff welcomed her into the small, cosy community and have all been very kind to her. Settling in there, being cared for and having the chance to meet everyone there, she regained her communication skills.
As the weather improved she was able to
get outside, enjoy the fresh air, the peace and quiet, the birds, and the trees.
Helping the gardener has been a real plus point. Planting a magnolia tree and preparing hanging baskets was something she really enjoyed.
Now that she is at The Old Vicarage, Mum is eating and drinking regularly and receiving the level of care that sadly she was not getting before. She has improved greatly and is in a room with a view out to a bird feeder, kindly placed there by the Manager and her team. She is really happy.
Her comment, “If my Mum had ever needed to go into a care home, I’d have liked it to be like this one!” speaks volumes.
She has praise for the staff each time we visit. A great team.

We are very happy with the care my dad is receiving at The Old Vicarage. The manager is really lovely, and all the staff really care about making my dad as happy and comfortable as possible. They have made a difficult time so much easier for our whole family.
22 June 2022
The care is very good. The home though needs updating, in particular, the garden needs to be more accessible for the residents. With a decent path, as it is too uneven. Clients should be able to walk around, without having to wait for carers. Flowers are needed and the garden furniture needs
updating and to be more comfortable for the clients. Everything in the home from photos I've seen (as my wife is the only one been allowed in the home) is tired looking and not inviting. On a positive, as stated before, staff appear to be good and friendly.
14 June 2022
The manager is great! Really good at keeping me informed when my mum hurt her wrist. I was notified each step of the way. All the staff are always very helpful when I visit and mum loves them all.
16 December 2021
My father came to the Vicarage in November of 2021. He was made to feel very at home, and the staff were very welcoming. Their care is spot on. The manager is very approachable and caring to all the residents and staff. I would recommend this home to anyone who is thinking about putting a loved one
into a home. My father has dementia, and it was very important to me that I could get him somewhere where I thought he would be happy and mainly cared for.

Mum lived with us at ours for around 14 months until we became unable to meet her needs, particularly around the challenges of Dementia. We had to request help from social services which proved quite frustrating, leading my wife and me to find a local home ourselves for mum. Within a week of this
placement, the wheels came off and matters became quite serious, to the point of again us asking for help. Eventually, a social worker located Vicarage Residential Care Home as a possible care home that could care for and meet Mums needs. The manager and the staff immediately made Mum welcome and despite a few early setbacks with Mums behaviour, she quickly became settled through the support and care the home provides. The staff are always helpful and cheerful, even during the stresses of the Covid restrictions. We were happy to recommend Vicarage Residential Care Home to our friends, who were looking for a caring location for their father and he duly moved in last week. Thank you.
09 April 2021
My mum has been a resident at The Old Vicarage for just over two years, suffering from mixed dementia and with mobility issues which have both significantly progressed. Before lockdown, I visited most days and found the staff at all levels, amazing. The residents are treated with dignity and respect
and I found the interaction between all the staff (from the manager down) and residents lovely to see and listen to, almost as if they were dealing with elderly family members. My mum lived on her own for years and can find the hustle and bustle of the communal spaces very tiring. The staff respect this and take her to her room when it all gets too much, even though this makes so much extra work for them and is something not allowed when in respite care at other places. Any lack of facilities and activities are more than made up for by the care given. I can only agree wholeheartedly with all the other reviews given.
