View Full Details of Ringway Mews Care HomeMy nan was in Wellington house for 7 months and the care she got was bad. She would go weeks without having a shower, hygiene was appalling, food is dire, in the short space of time she was there she had 4 water lesions as she wasn't being changed enough, she had 3 safeguarding referrals put in for falling out of bed, being burnt and weeks of dry skin at the top of her legs as the cream the Dr prescribed wasn't being put on regular. Majority of the carers in Wellington are lovely but unfortunately they are understaffed and don't have the time to look after everyone in the way they would like. Higher management don't care that basic needs of residents aren't being met, instead they gave my 91yr old nana 28 days notice stating they couldn't meet her needs, this was after us making the same complaints about basic needs, then my mum was asked to write a review and the management didn't like what she wrote so kicked nana out.
Partner been in Lancaster House since January 2025. I have always been kept informed about his care and any queries I have had have been dealt with straight away. All the staff I have dealt with have been very helpful and treated partner with respect. Manager of the unit always keeps me informed and always available. If i have any queries. The unit is looking tired and needs updating which I believe will be next year. Only problem I have in there is not much. Activities again I believe this is being looked at. All the staff on the unit work hard.
My mum is in the care home and is happy here. But there could be more improvements in the care she receives for eg the food could be more nutritious and sometimes the food is barely warm. Personal hygiene could also be improved by having showers/ baths more frequently, and hand washing after eating. Residents are sometimes left in the day room without drinks and supervision. The staff are kind and caring towards the residents and families, but in my opinion they are understaffed plus the hoists are always breaking down, which means residents are left in bed longer than necessary.
I have a family member on the Halifax unit. I must say the staff in there are wonderful, they are very attentive to my nana and they are very good with me and my family. Always sonebody around and ready to give a helping hand if we need anything during out visits.
My sister spent her final weeks in this care home after I read some of the reviews I was a bit sceptical about this place. I can honestly say that the care she received was good and made us as a family happy that she was looked after My sister was in Lancaster house and I want to thank all involved in looking after my sister and making her as comfortable as she could be.
The team at Lancaster House offer exceptional care to my mum and always keep me informed about her health and wellbeing. The team are a pleasure to deal with and my mum feels very happy and safe in their care. There is a lovely atmosphere throughout Lancaster House.
Overall, I am happy with the care that my husband has received. It is clean and tidy, but his room needs painting. The food is okay, but could be improved with a few more choices. His carer is good at her job, and if you have any questions, she will sort it out. My husband is in Lancaster House.
My husband has been looked after well. The staff are friendly and welcoming. My husband has settled in well, and the staff understand how to handle his agitation, which can be difficult when administering personal care of medication. Overall, Ringway Mews Lancaster Team are approachable and care for my husband's needs, even when it is not easy.
Our experience leads us to believe that this place will spell an early a miserable demise for anyone unlucky enough to be sent here. Personal belongings get stolen, patients are left in their soiled clothing, health conditions are not appropriately treated. Our experience was heartbreaking and we believe caused a miserable and unnecessarily rapid and painful decline and death of our relative that was sent here. Shocking!!
My darling Mum was in Ringway Mews for several months 2012/13. She died there. The care and surroundings were second to none. I can look back knowing she was well looked after. Now I am visiting my next door neighbour in Wellington House. It is different, needs decorating, splashes up the bedroom wall, YUK. I am aware that my neighbour is bedbound. And for £12 hundred pounds per week! Definitely needs updating. I cannot comment on the nursing care also my neighbour cannot eat food.. But decent surroundings mean so much.
A care home where people care, they really do. My wife is more calm and content than she has been for years. She has improved and now has a special chair and joins in the community lounge. The staff are happy to work here.
My Mother was in Wellington House following a difficult 6 months of A&E, wards which meant endless moves. Her final weeks were at WH - I cannot express how grateful we were it was there, the staff were so kind to Mum (and us). The care was exceptional, kind, loving, and respectful. Just the most wonderful place for Mum. - We will always have so much love for the team there and not enough people get this - They are absolutely wonderful and her final days were the best we could hope for, thank you.
My wife moved to Ringway Mews after several months in another home and it is easily the best thing that has happened to us in a long time. She settled in quickly and is cared for by hard-working, friendly, and professional staff. The home is well-staffed, the food is excellent and the surroundings pleasant. The management in particular are impressive, always proactive, up to speed with what is going on, and always takes the time to chat with us and keep us informed, creating a friendly family atmosphere.
My Mum has been staying at Ringway Mews for just over a year now. The staff in Anson House have been lovely and seem to have built up a wonderful bond with Mum, making her laugh and keeping her smiling. The care that she receives is great and I feel very happy she is somewhere where she is looked after so well.
My mum has lived in Halifax House since September 2021. On admission, she was not eating/drinking nor living her best life. She moved here from the hospital. Within a few days, she had restarted eating and drinking. She was adamant from the start of her residency she did not want to move anywhere else and she voiced this to all healthcare workers and social workers who listened. On her passing on 16/07/24 she was well cared for and all the staff came to pay their respects which I found touching. She did not want to move and her wishes were respected. She had a second family there.
My mum went to Ringway Care Home a few weeks ago. She is being assessed at the moment. But hopefully when the assessment is finished. Mum will be able to stay. From the beginning of the assessment, the manager and staff have been amazing, informative, and most of all caring towards Mum and her family. I cannot praise the home highly enough. Kind regards.
After staying in two other care homes my dad moved to Ringway Mews. He is now very happy and settled. He has a fantastic relationship with all of the staff who have really made him feel at home and always keep him laughing. The care is very good and the rooms are clean. I would highly recommend it.
The staff at Ringway Mews are always super friendly, professional and easy to approach. They treat my mum with care and respect and are always on hand to help or answer queries/concerns. My mum likes being at Ringway Mews and we have great peace of mind knowing she is properly cared for.
Activities are excellent, Mum went out on a trip.
It’s now five months since Mum moved into Shackleton House and she’s doing amazing, she is always dressed and clean and trusts the staff. I honestly believe this is due to the care and attention she receives from the staff, they are all fantastic with Mum. I truly believe it’s not just a job to them they really do seem to care. I go daily and see how they interact with other residents too. I can also leave each day knowing she’s safe and settled. The staff are always happy to answer any questions I may have and let me know how she’s been overnight. I didn’t think Mum would settle but she seems to be really happy there, nowhere is going to be 100% for our loved one but this, for us, is as near as, so glad we managed to get her a place in there, so thank you to you all at Shackleton for making this stage a whole lot easier for Mum and us, as a family.
