View Full Details of Ruckland Court Care HomeMy mother has been a resident in the above care home since January 2025, we chose Ruckland as mum was a self funder and when enquiring about the home the staff there were the ones who supported mum and also me . It was difficult for mum in the beginning but gradually she settled in and started enjoying all the activities. A big thumbs up for the well being team they make sure there are always activities to do, mum is in the choir and scrabble team which she enjoys very much. Anyone looking to take that step and go into care should consider this home for the quality of care and professionalism that the staff demonstrate on a daily basis . Well done to all that help look after my mum, at least I can be rest assured that she's getting the care and support which she needs.
Lovely, welcoming, helpful, kind and thoughtful staff. In all departments of the home staff were so friendly and helpful. Clean bright rooms with regular tea and biscuits, which my mum loves. Housekeeping - super helpful and friendly. Mums rooms was always clean and tidy. I have peace of mind know my mum is staying in Ruckland Court.
My husband has been in Ruckland Court for over 5years. I feel like one of the family. I'm happy to know that he is treated with kindness and dignity. Love that we can go to the coffee shop and have time to ourselves. I would recommend it to anyone..
I really cannot understand how they get the high quality reviews they do. The facilities appear towards the top end and the "sell in" appeared so positive however the reality of care was something very different to be observed and experienced. Promises of involvement and communication proved empty handed, care and compassion was clearly lacking with repetitive oversights despite raising concerns and not once, despite raising these concerns could they follow their own complaints process - not even the manager! It is pretty obvious that senior management has been promoted through longevity not ability or skill set - something that then fed down. Due to his fragile state of health we had to think long and hard about moving dad elsewhere but thank goodness we did as from the moment he arrived at his new home they were exceptional from beginning to end. Make sure you look through the gloss
Beautifully presented room a delight light and airy. Staff bright and cheerful, always happy to assist. Food good, English cooking great variety , well presented. All in all a great experience at a sad time.
I would like to thank all of the staff for the amazing care everyone at Ruckland Court has shown towards my Mum JB. It was a difficult decision for the family and father to take but with the Alziemers at an advanced level we had run out of options. We have been incredibly impressed with the facilities at Ruckland Court, along with the level of care, Mum couldn't be in a better place. Thank you three members of staff in particular for your help, very much appreciated.
Always found the day staff to be friendly, helpful and treated my husband with respect. Home was very accommodating at meal times, allowing family to join my husband for lunch. I found the staff very supportive in a very difficult time when my husband transitioned from care at home to moving into a care home.
Palliative care for my dad's last week of life. A very happy, welcoming home. Dad's dignity was respected at all times, even after he had passed away. Lovely friendly, caring staff.
My mum was in Ruckland Court for respite. The care she received was respectful and dignified. The rooms and facilities are outstanding. I would definitely recommend Ruckland Court. The sense of comfort it gave me to know such lovely people were helping mum really put my mind at ease.
The staff were lovely, kind, gentle and supportive. The home itself is clean and has great facilities. My father was admitted essentially for end-of-life care and was well looked after, treated with kindness, respect and dignity. Thank you to all the staff for their kindness and the respect and dignity shown to my father.
I cannot fault Ruckland at all. My Uncle has improved physically and mentally since moving in here. The staff are fantastic, polite, professional and genuinely caring. The management have been superb, very approachable and helpful. I work in healthcare and visit many sheltered housing schemes and Ruckland Court is quite simply the best I have known. Thank you so much for offering such excellent care.
Very impressed with the whole look of the care home, clean, smart, user-friendly, easy access to garden, pleasant garden experience for all. Staff exceptionally pleasant, helpful and always smiling. Bedroom and ensuite also of very high standard, access to all amenities very good, user loved the cinema and cafe and enjoyed his meals too, plenty of variety and would like to return soon.
It has been a really good experience overall. Thank you for your help. Staff lovely and helpful and management and receptionist very helpful.
My mum recently celebrated her 89th birthday in the Dam Buster bar at Ruckland Court. We had a family gathering of approx 25 people, all the staff on duty that day went out of their way to make it a thoroughly enjoyable experience for Mum, making sure we had everything we needed. Although mum has only been a resident for a short time, she and all the family have been made very welcome and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Lastly, the Dam Buster bar was the perfect venue for the party which was enjoyed by everyone. Many thanks.
Mum has been at Ruckland Court for almost 3 years and I have nothing but praise for the home and for everyone that works there. The difference in her is unbelievable and from a place of desperation as her Alzheimers took hold before moving there, to the happy, laughing person she has returned to, has been amazing and such a relief to see. She loves life again, and as much as possible with dementia, I have my mum back. I will be forever grateful for the time and effort that the manager and his team invest in all the residents, it's the little things they do, caring gestures, jokes to make them laugh etc, basically being family to them, when family can't be there that make the difference. Frankly, not only has Mum already been given 3 more years than than I thought possible, such was her decline, but my brother and I are now able to relax physically and mentally knowing she is safe and happy, and now in such beautiful surroundings too. Thank you will never be enough.
Since my mum became a resident almost 2 years ago, the care home has got better in terms of the environment she lives in and the staff who look after her. The new building which houses a spacious and relaxing lounge is excellent.
Both my parents are residents at Ruckland Court where they have their own rooms but spend their day together in Dad’s flat. We were encouraged to bring up many of their personal possessions collected over their long marriage so both their rooms have become a real home from home. Mum and Dad have the best of both worlds in the support provided being of light touch for Mum whilst she is relatively well and more in-depth for Dad who needs greater help with his daily living needs now. All staff know them both well and that includes us as the wider family too. I am on first-name terms with the whole team and I feel very able to bring up any worries I or my sister may have in order to resolve them in the best interests of my parents. I think this illustrates the open communication and respect demonstrated to the residents and families at Ruckland Court and provides reassurance to my sister and I that my parents are well cared for and settled.
I would just like say that my auntie has only been in Ruckland Court Care Home for about two weeks. So, at this, the information will only be based on this very short time we have at the moment. All the staff are very friendly and supporting in her needs, comfort and mind. Also, we find they have been very approachable in every area. So, a big thank you at this difficult time for our family.
Mum had a hospital appointment with an ongoing condition, when the sister took off Mum's dressings she said 'Wow! What home is Mum in?' 'They are looking after her very well, it must be a good home'. Yes, they are and yes it is!
Always find staff very kind and helpful. Everywhere was lovely and clean. Food always looks very nice and well presented.
