View Full Details of Moorgate LodgePlease do not place your loved ones in this Nursing Home. This home is dangerous in my opinion. I found the nursing staff do not listen to the relatives of loved ones even when you are trying to advise them that your loved one may be ill. Management are obstructive and medical interventions are practically non existent. I found the nursing home to smell on the landings of body odour. Not surprising really with the extreme temperatures in this place. No fans or air conditioning even in the extreme temperatures. It's ridiculous, even the staff are nearly collapsing due to the heat. Stimulus is non existent too for the residents. Absolutely nothing to do in this place for the residents. All you see the poor residents do is sit or lay in their rooms. This place is literally soleless. I would not trust management in this place. It appears all about money not patient centred care. Please avoid at all costs.
When we first looked around we were met with a genuine warmth and friendliness by everyone. This is still the case whenever we visit. The love and care they give mum is amazing. She is a different person to when she first arrived. More confident and settled and physically and mentally so much improved. The staff encourage her to join in all the activities which she loved. The staff are always smiling and happy to chat - a fabulous family environment in which we are happy for mum to be a part of.
My mother in Law was looked after extremely well for her end of life care. The staff were professional and very caring. Other relatives we met included nurses who again praised the home and its staff very highly. The food there is also worth a mention. It is made by a chef and is delicious.
My mum has only been here a week but already we feel part of the family. Staff are so nice and helpful and the home is lovely and clean and homely.
My mum was at this nursing home for the last 3 months of her life. It was a difficult decision and stressful choosing the right home. We chose Moorgate Lodge and never regretted it. The care and love and professionalism was second to none. They not only looked after mum, they looked after us too. An awful time in our lives was made better thanks to these lovely staff and friends. Thank you- my love to all.
A first class care home. The manager and staff are very caring and professional. They made my mum feel cared for and safe in a very nice environment. Thank you for much for everything you did for my mum and family.
Moving mum into a care home was such a difficult decision for us as a family. The manager, deputy manager, nursing and care staff have all been wonderful. They care for mums needs so well, always cheerful professional and caring and they always have time to talk to us. I feel that this care home goes above and beyond in everything offered. The environment is bright and welcoming, the bedrooms are lovely. We are looking forward to the activities being planned for VE day! Well done Moorgate Lodge and thank you for getting it right.
my mom needed end of life care and we were fortunate to find Moorgate Lodge. The manager was so loving and caring from our first meeting. The whole team were fantastic ensuring ensuring mums room suited her individual needs, and her care was second to none. Evaluated on a daily basis to ensure she got the best out of her remaining time. We were treat like family by everyone and kept fully upto date. Mums passing was very peaceful, she was painfree and calm. An amazing Home / Team. Special thanks to the manager and the team.
We can't thank and praise the manager and her staff at Moorgate Lodge nursing home enough. They made our mums final months pleasurable and comfortable. Thank you.
My father was made so comfortable in his last few weeks staff friendly and very caring.
My mum moved into Moorgate Lodge in January from hospital following a fall at home. From our first initial meeting/visit to the home, we were made to feel very welcome and felt that Moorgate Lodge was the place that would meet our mum's physical, social and emotional needs. The home manager was very warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. I knew her aim was for her staff to deliver person-centred, evidence-based care to my mum. Which they did and more. Mum received a high standard of care from all members of staff. I stayed with Mum during her last night and I witnessed a high standard of care delivered to Mum with empathy and compassion. The home is tranquil but also has many activities to choose from, well furnished and very clean. Thank you to everyone at Moorgate Lodge.
Since our mum came to live here (2 years, just over) we have had peace of mind that she is well looked after and cared for. All staff are lovely and friendly and are for the most part consistent in caring for our mum.
The above home is like heaven to my uncle and he is looked after by first-class staff and nothing is too much trouble for them.
My mother moved into a very comfortable, good-sized room with a patio door. We created a small garden area for her where she watches the wildlife on her bird feeders. As she is virtually bedbound, this is a pleasure for her. Nursing and caring needs are well taken care of. The only downside being the lack of social interaction. We as a family visit daily, but other than that daily activities or interaction from staff is limited. I appreciate Mum is not able to participate in games, quizzes etc but a little conversation would be all we ask. Staff converse with family when we are there.
The staff are very friendly. Clean, welcoming, and well-looked-after environment. Lots of nice activities for residents.
Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful all the time, lots of activities, decorated nicely. Very well-kept place.
My Grandma has been in a care home now for quite some time. She moved from a previous care home that had closed down. I am so pleased with the level of care that she receives. Every need is tended to fully. It is the little things that really do mean a lot. Her hair is washed, her nails cut and her chin hair shaved. This makes my Grandma feel as normal as possible and we notice she is always very well put together. I am very happy with the level of care she gets here. Thank you.
Well looked after.
Lovely place. The staff are very friendly. Service users want for nothing. Good entertainment. Very clean. Mum seems happy.
