Nan was resident at Mount tryon for just over a year. The family found that in this short time was some of the happiest moments she lived. The nurses and assistants was alway's in tears of laughter, brought on by Nan. This was a new side to Nan, one that we rarly seen. The family would like to thank all the staff from top to bottom for there care and attention when looking after Nan. Thankyou.
I have ticked all the boxes, happy with Mum, living here, wouldn't want to go anywhere as Mum is very settled
Very happy with my stay, lovely gardens and excellent atmosphere.
My husband has been in Mount Tryon Nursing Home for over a year. He has received exemplary care and my family and I are happy he is in the best possible place. All the staff are wonderful, patient, caring, efficient and treat the residents with utmost dignity. Nothing is too much trouble.I have been kept informed and updated whenever appropriate. Mount Tryon has a warm ,friendly atmosphere as soon as you arrive, and frequently greet you by name. The entire staff, housekeeping ,cleaning ,catering, maintenance, activities team, admin, volunteers, carers, nurses and management work so well together to achieve a happy family home from home.
Mum moved into Mount Tryon as a short term basis/trial period due to early onset dementia and recently suffering a nasty fall. Within a week Mum decided to stay perminatly. She enjoys the activities, people to talk to and especially the food. Whilst living alone at home she was wasting away, she is putting on weight and able to get around now. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful with any event that may arise. Update.. Mum has now been there for about 5 months and still happy as Larry! The carers have gone out of their way to help mum with serious podiatrist care, and making sure she is always looking clean, hair done and everything taken care of! She is piling the weight back on, thank goodness and loving the entertainment! Thanks so much Mt Tryon x
The home is very welcoming. The staff are very friendly. The arts and crafts are certainly 100% This helps very much with the social side. The care is good but not exceptional, in the fact of not knowing who to contact. On the whole I think my sister is happy.
It was a great pleasure for me and my wife to visit my cousin in Barchester Mount Tryon Care Home. My cousin is receiving care which is, in my opinion, second to none. The staff are first class, nothing is a bother for them and it feel such a happy place. It is also spotlessly clean and the rooms and garden areas are superb. I'm not very good at remembering names but the chef is a very caring person and her and her staff supply wonderful varied food for everyone. To end, I'd just say it was a wonderful experience.
We recently needed some respite care for my Mum. Admitted to hospital and being told she was medically fit we had to turn to looking for care homes at short notice. We went around several homes and were extremely disappointed. We went to Mount Tryon and were overwhelmed by their kindness, compassion and professionalism. They completed an assessment with mum and she was admitted the same day. Two weeks on we couldn't be happier. Mum has settled and decided she will stay permanently. Very happy, big thank you to everyone at Mount Tryon.
I previously left a review for Mount Tryon as my aunt is a resident here & I couldn't speak more highly of the home or its staff. I now volunteer here once a week visiting residents on Memory Lane who either don't have regular visitors or some who don't have any visitors. I had previously said that once I retired I would return to voluntary work as when my children were young I helped to run a mother & toddler group & a playgroup & had envisioned returning to something similar or possibly a primary school. When I was asked by the activities co-ordinator if I'd like to volunteer here it was a no-brainer, I'd already begun chatting to one of the ladies & really enjoyed our chats. Well over a year later I know it was the right decision, I really look forward to my Friday visits, hopefully as much as the residents look forward to seeing me. I feel honoured to have been asked to help with this, I am made to feel very welcome by everyone at Mount Tryon & always feel a part of the team.
My daughter and I chose Mount Tryon as we needed a safe and comfortable environment where my 87 year old mother could recover from a broken leg and heart surgery before returning home. The staff, accommodation and facilities were absolutely first class. The management manage their friendly staff and every aspect of Mount Tryon extremely well and extend their kindness, patience and caring to guests and visitors as well as the residents. The experience could be likened to being in a hotel with large, comfortable bedrooms, spacious lounge areas, lovely gardens and a restaurant offering delicious menu choices each day. There was even a hairdressing salon! Mount Tryon is an excellent home from home and exceeded our expectations.
My dad has been in memory lane for 4 months following a hospital stay. It has been a disappointing experience which has been very stressful & upsetting for me although my dad has been unaware due to his lack of capacity. The management do not appear to be interested in resolving concerns & a number of safeguarding issues have been raised by Social Services. My dad's been on antibiotics pretty much the entire time he has been there and this initially made his dementia worse. However following a fracture which resulted in him going to hospital we were phoned and told they could not take him back as they could not meet his needs. This is after I was assured this would not happen as his baseline level couldn't be assessed until he was clear of infection. The carers overall have been lovely as have the cleaners, catering & laundry staff. I hadn't realised that the deputy manager & head of the dementia unit are married which I think raises a conflict of interest.
My friend was a resident when I visited her, the staff and management were all lovely and helpful, the home was nice and clean and the meals looked good. The residents appeared to be well looked after and the staff were very attentive. Some of the residents I saw were enjoying being shown how to make creative activities that were on offer.
This is a lovely home, it's more like a hotel. I didn't know homes like this still existed. Very clean, staff are friendly and so kind to the residents. The cake is delicious and I cannot recommend this home enough.
They give you lovely care, treat you really well with extreme dignity, wonderful place.
My grandma, who is 96, moved in recently and it's been not only a weight off my family's shoulders knowing that she's being so well looked after but so lovely to see the care and dedication that all of the staff provide to her. We looked at numerous care/nursing homes before choosing Barchester Mount Tryon Care Home and I can honestly say, without a doubt, Mount Tryon was the most welcoming, organised, cleanest, caring, friendliest, homely and well-run out of all of them. Grandma had become somewhat of a recluse mainly due to being housebound but since being at Mount Tryon, she has a new lease of life. She takes part in the daily activities that the loveliest of activity coordinators organise and joins the residents in the dining room most days for food. She's made new friends and it's actually quite emotional at times seeing just how happy she is now.
We were looking for a care home for my mum. We wanted somewhere welcoming, homely, clean and providing daily activities and stimulation for the residents. Barchester Mount Tryon Care Home ticked all the boxes and more besides. Mount Tryon was a breath of fresh air, from the first step we took into the building, it felt like being home. Mount Tryon was spotlessly clean, with excellent facilities. Apart from the daily activities, there are frequent theme days with residents and their families invited to get involved. Above all, the staff at Mount Tryon were brilliant in every way, friendly and welcoming with an excellent ratio of staff to residents. The dining room is beautiful, as are the gardens. The cosy coffee lounge allows residents and their visitors to help themselves to drinks and freshly homemade baked cakes at any time of the day. There is also a residents' lounge with a selection of books for those who like to read. I would recommend Mount Tryon to anyone in need of residential or respite care.
My mum came here after a lengthy stay in hospital in September last year. All staff are professional, friendly, and supportive, they go over and beyond every single day to ensure that all residents' needs are catered for. There is a lovely dining room, coffee lounge, and residents lounge. There are freshly baked cakes every day, all food is prepared fresh the same day it is on the menu. It was a very hard decision for her to make as she was not coping at home, this was made easier by the amazing surroundings, truly wonderful staff, 24-hour nursing staff on-site, daily activities and the feeling that you are part of the family. I would 100% recommend this to anyone requiring respite care, recuperation from a hospital stay or anyone not coping at home.
Definitely five stars. I was on my way to a holiday in Devon and did a little detour to see an old friend who was in for respite due to an illness. I must admit, I was not looking forward to seeing them and a bit worried what to expect. She was making cakes with the activity girl when we arrived, she looked amazing and was having a lovely time and looked so well. The home was also not what I expected, I think I will retire there myself when my time comes. Staff were amazing and so caring. Thank you so much for everything you have done and keep doing.
My husband recently had some respite care at Mount Tryon, after he was hospitalised and not well enough to return home. The staff were so kind and caring, the food was delicious, he enjoyed the activities and I was made to feel welcome on every visit. For us, this was a daunting experience made very easy thanks to this wonderful home. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Mount Tryon again and we would recommend it to anyone looking for wonderful care.
