View Full Details of Harrogate Lodge Care HomeMy father was a resident at Harrogate Lodge for 2 years until his passing in September 2025. I was unable to visit very often as I live in the States , but whenever I did I was always impressed first and foremost by the kindness of all the staff. The carers all looked after him with dignity and respect and I always felt that he was well looked after. Another wonderful aspect of the home are the number and variety of activities provided for the residents, including outings to local restaurants etc. I also really appreciated the social media posts with all the many photos. The outpouring of love from the staff for my father and towards the family meant so much for us.
Mum was given rehabilitation care here following a three week stay in Leeds General Infirmary after a fall and breaking her hip in May 2025. I have nothing but the highest praise for all staff and management at Harrogate Lodge. Mum was only in their care for three weeks, but it was excellent throughout. Her room was lovely and homely. The physiotherapy team were so kind and considerate to my Mum and worked really hard with her to encourage her to mobilise and recover. Knowing she was in good hands was a great comfort to me as I lived many miles away. All the staff were never too busy to communicate with me and always listened when I needed to change things slightly as time went by. Sadly, in spite of all the team's efforts, Mum didn't want to engage and was transferred onwards to a nursing home, in which she has since passed away. I cannot thank everyone at Harrogate Lodge enough for all the kindness, and support they gave me and my Mum during a very difficult and worrying time.
The loving care given was second to none. His stay was made so easy. Lindsey, Natalie and team have been great and nothing has been too much trouble.
My dad has been in the home since June of this year Dad was given his Vascular Dementia at the beginning of the year. From the moment we were shown round my mum & I were made to feel so welcome . Dad is settled and in the care of a team of wonderful staff who are kind, compassionate and nothing is too much trouble. A team of people who do an extremely hard demanding job but do it with kindness a smile and make a hard decision to put dad in a home an easier one. Look beyond the bricks and mortar it's what's on the inside that counts and what is on the inside is a lovely lovely home Thank you for looking after dad.
My mother has been in HL for nearly 4 years against all the odds. She is always treated with respect and dignity despite her outbursts of violent behaviour towards the staff. It is important to say that as POA my wishes for her are also respected and complied with compassion and care. When I chose HL for mum it was just satisfactory - now due to competent leadership and management it is an outstanding facility for my mother. The staff are great, the cook, the cleaners the nursing and care staff and anyone else I have forgotten. Keep up the good work.
My mother in law has been in this home for a number of years. She has had Alzheimer's for approximately 7 years. Her care at this home has far excelled our expectations. The staff, management, nurses etc are all excellent. They provide activities to keep residents entertained and cared for. The appearance may not be a 5 star hotel but the care is. When her first home said they couldn't meet her needs the manager listened to us, understood what my mother in laws needs were and saw that she was bored. They have continued to be brilliant with the family and her as a resident. I would recommend here for great care. They are walk, clean, well fed and entertained. Don't be fooled by anywhere that looks like a 5 star hotel. Look beyond and see the care being given, it's what your loved one needs, not the furnishings.
I went to Harrogate Lodge for extra rehabilitation after a hip replacement because my mobility was very limited due to also needing a knee replacement in due course, I was very surprised as to how supportive and interested in my well being most of the staff were, they were a lot of long term staff who really enjoyed their jobs which made a stay here relaxing and made my recovery easier. If I need extra support when I have my knee done, I would hope to return to Harrogate Lodge. Knowing I will be looked after. Thank you so much to all.
My elderly mother spent nearly three weeks at Harrogate Lodge. Unable to walk when she arrived, she was very unhappy and scared; she was very quickly made to feel safe and cared for. Nurses ensured her pain relief and other medication was safely administered and Harrogate Lodge staff worked very well with hospital staff. She received a lot of physio and was soon able to walk again. All staff were kind, helpful and professional, they encouraged her to socialise and regain confidence, they were all delighted with her progress.
Very welcoming, staff are very helpful. Food excellent. Physio care excellent. Highly recommend.
I stayed at Harrogate Lodge Care Home for 7 weeks recently till early November. The staff were caring, kind and made me feel more confident and safe. I'm extremely likely to recommend Harrogate Lodge Care Home to anyone who feels they need full time care.
Outstanding! From the first welcoming phone call to our final farewell hugs! I could not have asked for more from every member of staff.
My mum has been here for 3 years, and the care she has received has been magnificent. She was withdrawn, underweight and lost when she arrived but now she has daily stimulation, staff who care and love her. She now has a healthy weight, interacts with everyone and is always smiling or singing with happiness. I am so pleased with the care my mum receives and the way our family is kept informed of her progress and any issues. The best thing that we ever did for our mum was to move her to Harrogate lodge!
I can't thank the team enough for the level of care they have provided for me and helped me as well. We have gone from one extreme to another with home and the team here. They not only look after my mum they try and make her special and they really care. Can't thank them enough
Mum has Alzheimer's and has been at Harrogate Lodge for over 2 years. The care and attention she has been given and the welcome we get when we visit is excellent. Mum is happy she has been difficult at times but the staff have the training and understanding to manage dementia patients. She is kept occupied and enjoys the activities provided. I have peace of mind that she is being well cared for.
Mum has settled in well to Harrogate Lodge and seems to have developed a good relationship with the staff. I am kept up to date with any physical changes that have occurred. Both myself and my family are welcome to see Mum at any time. The home made every effort to help Mum to engage in the activities.
My husband was in Harrogate Lodge, Leeds for almost five years. A wonderful, caring home. All the staff are wonderful, caring people. He was extremely happy there. He passed away in February this year. His care towards the end was amazing. They looked after me and my family with the most professional care. I still like to go into the home as I have, over the years, made such wonderful friends. I cannot praise them enough for all they have done for our family.
Mum has been a resident on the dementia suite for two years now. During this time she has received outstanding care. The staff are like an extended family and treat her with kindness and respect. Her room is always clean and tidy and there a is lovely co-ordinator who provides excellent daily activities to keep residents involved. Mum is taken out and there is a garden to sit out in when the weather permits. Staff care about the resident and their family and a lovely warm welcome always awaits on each visit. I receive regular updates and staff are always approachable if I have any concerns. Can't praise them highly enough for their care and dedication to keeping Mum safe and happy.
Lack of communication with the staff and the patients and the food is not at all good. The staff are not nice and polite, and some of the staff very rude to the people.
When I arrived I was welcomed wonderfully. But when handed over to two young ladies to complete the admissions form (a tick box questionnaire). They requested that my husband went on the landing to sit, (to which I objected to). They were adamant that this was going to happen. I reminded them several times that my husband, of 66 years, was not going to happen. They had no idea how of handling this and I feel that a short introduction to this questionnaire would be advisable (customer care).
Our aunt was a resident for eight years. I would like to express our gratitude for the care she has received at Harrogate Lodge. The staff are amazing, going above and beyond with the residents. We have nothing but good things to say about these caring people - and when the time came, they were equally amazing with us being supportive and compassionate. Forever grateful.
