The staff in the home are just fantastic. I can't speak highly enough of them, they are so caring and cheerful. The unit my mum is in is also very wll-staffed in terms of numbers and this is critical to the care provided.
The rooms are basic and could do with renovating but on balance ai would
rather trade this for the staff.

My goodness how to start. The respite for my Dad has been second to none. All the staff, admin etc are excellent, best care I could have hoped for my dad. He loves it here. Until next time Golfhill, Godbless you all.

Lovely place .
Friendly staff .
Plenty activities for residents .
The cafe is great for when the weather is rubbish .
Staff are always willing to help whenever there's an issue but that's not very often to be fair.

I can't thank the staff at Golfhill enough, my grandmother moved in on end of life care, the staff in craigpark looked after my gran until her last days and helped out family through this awful time, my mum has also moved into golfhill, my mum can be so demanding but the staff are so understanding
and deal with my mum so professionally with care.
A massive thank you to the manager and the staff, our family will be forever grateful.

I would highly recommend Golfhill. My mum has been in the Alexandra unit for 2 years. She broke her hip recently and the staff have been absolutely wonderful with her. The staff in there are run off their feet, but always take the time to talk to you, if required. Maybe the top dogs should hire
more staff. Also glad to see it being decorated and new furniture. It looks a lot brighter and not so clinical.
Once again thank you to all the staff in the Alexandra Unit.

Good experience for the first time using respite care, staff are easy to talk to. We had clear communication from start to finish
My friend enjoyed her stay and felt safe that was huge for us. We will request Golfhill again.

I feel there is a lack of staff. The staff are very busy with the residents which means we have to wait for the door to be answered and also when leaving . The staff are very helpful . I also feel that all members of staff should have a name badge .
14 May 2025
My impression of the home is happy, inclusive and caring. The staff are professional and ensure that the residents have their needs and any problems they make sure that it is dealt with straight away.

Golfhill is brilliant for my mum. My mum been in Golfhill over 25 years. Can't recommend them enough. Staff very friendly and look after my mum well. Thank you for everything you do for mum and all the residents

Since arriving at Whitehill Golfhill Care Home the staff have shown great care and compassion towards my mum. All staff are friendly and go out of their way to help answer my questions about dementia and medical needs. The staff are fantastic at encouraging Mum to participate in activities, she
loves to crochet, get her nails done, karaoke, baking and getting her hair done. They encourage her to remain mobile and independent. I never leave worried about her after visiting as I know she is in good caring hands. Lots of festive parties to look forward to.

My grandad had been a resident in Golfhill Care Home since December 31st 2022 until recently when he passed away on May 17th 2024. The care standards that he received during his time living there were by far the best we could have asked for. The staff treated him like family and it touched all of
the family to see he was cared for so well. We will always be so grateful to the staff for everything they have done for him and for how welcome they made us all feel when visiting. Truly a great bunch of people.

My mother was in here for respite for a week as I was away on a break and thought it would be safer for her to go into 24/7 care. I picked her up today to be horrified by the lack of care she has received. She has stitches in her head and is covered in bruises, left to sit soaked in her urine all
day. Honestly, I wouldn't advise anyone to put their loved ones into this care home no matter how short the stay. Today has been hard seeing the state of my mum. The staff don't seem to have a clue what's going on. Avoid at all costs! I'd give zero if could.
05 March 2024
My mum got an emergency respite place until a permanent place closer to family became available. Mum seemed to befriend the staff rather than the other residents. The staff were great with her.
14 September 2023
The care staff are amazing, each and every one of them. They make a fuss of my mum and she loves all the attention. It was my mum's 100th birthday on July 1st and they put on a fantastic party for her. The rooms could do with updating; painting, new flooring, new furniture (Mum's drawers need
replacing). The room is small - not a lot can be done about that. It's time visitors were allowed in the dayroom - like before COVID!

This is a positive review of my nephew who is disabled and staying at Golfhill Care Home. His care is good, and the staff are patient and kind. They are professional and he is given support and made to feel at home at a very difficult time for him. He has only been there a short time and we hope he
will continue to be happy there.

My mum was admitted to the Dennistoun Unit from the hospital last year following a fall and stroke. I live in the USA and was immediately impressed with the way the staff there made the extra effort to involve me remotely in Mum's care plan. Unfortunately, Mum has since been diagnosed with
Alzheimer's and I really wanted to have her cared for by Golfhill Care Home again - this time in their memory unit, Whitehill. There were a ton of administrative roadblocks in our way to achieving this goal and, without the support and guidance of the customer relations manager, I honestly don't think I could have done so. Mum has been in Whitehill for 3 days now and some of the staff from the Dennistoun Unit remembered her and came to greet her. All of the staff there have been amazingly caring - requesting many details from me so that they can ensure Mum's individual requirements are met. I am so relieved to know Mum's in a safe and caring environment.

I have found the carers at the home very attentive and look after my wife well. I had a problem with one of the carers, but it was resolved. The person concerned was quite aggressive to the residents, but I reported her to the management, and she was reprimanded; thankfully, she has left the home,
which made me feel more at ease knowing she is not there anymore.

I visited my brother on Wednesday the 13th of July 2022, on entering Golfhill I was welcomed by a very nice staff member. On entering my brother's room I found it to be very clean, neat and tidy. I always find the staff very friendly and pleasant. The care he is given on a daily basis is excellent
which is of comfort to me knowing my brother is in safe hands at all times.

My sister is in Golfhill and although individual staff are kind and supportive a great deal needs to improve.
Staffing levels are an issue, especially at the weekends. There is also staff churn which impacts the relationships that are built up over time.
The standard of the food is poor and the
times when you can ask for a meal are subject to the times the kitchen is open.
There is a culture of saying no rather than thinking about how can we make that happen.
It’s a difficult job and the pay is not great but more needs to be done to provide staff with support in relation to training and understanding of complex needs.

My mum lives in Golfhill Care Home. She has Alzheimer’s disease and the care she gets in Whitehill House is outstanding. She fell and broke her hip last October and the rehabilitation programme set up by the manager and her staff literally got Mum back on her feet again. Every resident is treated
with great care and respect. The staff very quickly get to know the residents natures, their likes and dislikes and treat them accordingly.
Golfhill closed for visitors about ten days before lockdown, and the staff have done an amazing job in caring for their residents throughout this Coronavirus situation. It is very difficult not being able to see our mother at this very vulnerable stage in her life, but the staff have kept us up to date at all times. They have put telephone/FaceTime arrangements in place for residents/families. There is also a Facebook page where pictures are posted, usually during a fun activity or a celebration. We can see that Mum is happy, healthy and safe.
