View Full Details of Woodlands View Care HomeMum went into Woodlands for a respite stay, which we extended because she clearly benefitted from the input we were unable to provide at home. The consistent rota of carers was warm and welcoming to Mum and the whole family from the outset. Nothing was too much bother - the cheery, good- humoured way things are done there made a difficult set of circumstances seem easier. They took a keen interest in her wellbeing and were very perceptive about her needs. She, initially, had reservations about not having an en suite, which is the only downside, but that was increasingly irrelevant as her stay progressed. When mum had a medical incident requiring an ambulance, it was reassuring to have such a compassionate and efficient carer stay with her all the way through. Our experience has been entirely positive and I wish I could name the individuals who made it so.
Although mum was only at the home for a very short time the staff showed empathy, compassion and kindness and were wonderful with her. Within days they had her up, washed and dressed and sitting in a chair - something hospital staff had said would never happen. Mum was looking forward to having her hair done, nails painted and seeing the chiropodist and after many months was feeling more positive about life which is completely down to the staff. Sadly she passed suddenly and didn't get to experience the leisure activities at the home which were also excellent. A special thank you also to the Managers who went above and beyond helping in the battle to get mum discharged from an out of county hospital and the support that they offered us as a family.
Very happy with the care my husband gets. Always plenty of staff on hand and always polite. Good food and activities for the residents. I know he will always be cared for and any problems they contact me.
My husband is well looked after. Management listen to concerns and try to implement suggestions. Activities run centrally are good.
Mum has been staying in residential respite care at Woodlands for three weeks now. We had hit a bit of a crisis point and had no choice about where a bed would be available . We landed so luckily here! The care is beyond brilliant. Every member of staff is kind and respectful. The team work well together and clearly all get on well which makes for a happy atmosphere. It feels like kindness and love wrap around you as you enter. Mum gets to choose to have a cooked breakfast, or whatever she wants, and it is made fresh for her. The menu choices and quality of food are good. Mum did have a stay in a different rehabilitation/respite home last year and the care was nothing like as good as the care at Woodlands. I had been worried about her going into respite because of that previous experience. The wonderful team at Woodlands have restored my faith in care homes! If I were to need to live in a care home myself, I would choose Lucas House at Woodlands and I know that I would be happy.
I cannot express enough gratitude for the care, compassion and dignity shown to my mum during such a tender and difficult time. From the moment she arrived at Woodlands View, it was clear she was in the most loving hands. The manager is nothing short of amazing, kind, professional and deeply devoted to ensuring every resident is treated with warmth and respect. Her entire team is wonderful, every carer, nurse and staff member has treated Mum with gentle attention and me with kindness and support.

On my 1st visit to see grandad I was happy to see how comfortable and relax he was. It is a very nice place with lovely kind caring staff. my grandad loves it Would definitely recommend others needing a similar care service.
Woodlands View have gone above and beyond for my Granddad. The staff are amazing. They have created a wonderful relationship with my granddad and my granddad is genuinely happy. Thank you to all the staff at Woodlands View
Lucas House where mum is happy and stable. Would be good if one carer could speak the same language, especially as here and a couple of staff in the other houses, would give me piece of mind knowing mum could talk and convey her concerns. We visit daily, however, it must still get lonely for her. 3 staff members in particular are fabulous and we are so happy with the care they give her.
My husband was recently in the Care Home and myself and family couldn't have been more pleased with them. The staff were wonderful and very caring and we were very appreciative of the standard of care my husband received.
The staff are all very helpful and pleasant, they relate well to the residents, and genuinely seem to care. I like the idea of having different houses for different levels of care, and the fact residents are taken to different houses to meet residents for coffee morning.
Staff are very good and caring.
I find the care home a very pleasant place. The staff are always very friendly and polite. The friend that I visit is perfectly happy to be there, he is at home.
My husband has been at Woodlands View Nursing Home for a year now. Having cared for him previously I fully understand how much care goes into keeping him healthy and clean. Care is expensive, but when the fee is broken down it is less than £8 an hour. I visit twice every day and he is always clean and quite content. Having Parkinson's and dementia he needs a lot of looking after. I love the day that I can visit any time. When he arrived last December he had been in and out of hospital and was in a bad state when he arrived. The care home has got him back to a normal weight and he can now live a lot longer because of the wonderful care he gets.
My dad's care since he moved in last August has been fantastic. The manager's office, staff, carers have all been very supportive. They always resolve situations to their highest ability. My dad is always clean, tidy and well-dressed. He is always happy when I go in. Everything I have asked for has been done. Thank you.
Extremely happy with everything. Mum is extremely well looked after - everyone is welcoming and very kind. No complaints at all. Thank you everyone for looking after Mum so well and for giving her a wonderful 100th birthday party.
My brother's stay at this home was the result of an emergency admission to the hospital. He was discharged after recovery for a period of respite. He was made welcome, despite a resistance to residential care with, as he saw it, a loss of independent living! He has been looked after very well, the staff taking a real interest in him and promoting a sense of independence whilst at the same time, ensuring he is clean, well-fed, hydrated, and properly supported in taking his medication. The home staff and the manager, in particular, have kept the family informed of progress, reflecting, that in other circumstances he would like to stay at the home. It is pleasantly situated with easy country walking close to hand. The socialising (e.g. at meal times), has been encouraging my brother to better manage his drift from isolation, as well as supporting his independence. He can engage or disengage to the degree he is comfortable with. We are very happy with the home and its services.
It is extremely hard when a parent has to move out of his/her home and into a care facility. I dreaded entering the home to visit my mum but I was pleasantly surprised. The whole atmosphere was warm and inviting which is down to the wonderful, hard-working staff that go out of their way to make family welcome and the residents feel safe and loved. Since being in the home, my mum has flourished and improved so much. She engages in fun activities and enjoys the amazing food. I feel relieved that she is in a very safe and nurturing environment.
