View Full Details of Hawthorn LodgeMy dad is a resident at Hawthorn Lodge and is so happy there and whenever I visit him, it is obvious why! All of the staff, not only the carers, are so friendly and approachable, and they genuinely do care. There are plenty of activities for the residents to get involved in, as well as downtime for them to enjoy too. The residents really are treated like family, it is their home and they are made to feel like it. I can't thank the staff at Hawthorn Lodge enough for everything they do for my dad, I know it can't be easy but you are so appreciated. Thank you!!
Amazing love the staff , they all do amazing job and look after my nan amazing. Since my nan started living there she having showers and eating the right foods and looking after fully snd getting her into activity s and making friends.
I moved my Nan in to Hawthorne lodge in February due to her needing more care than I can provide and I honestly can not praise the staff enough, they have been amazing with her care and are so patient. I visit my nan weekly but I know in between visits she is looked after and if anything happens I always get a call no matter how big or small. The staff also communicate well with the family and are extremely polite when asked a question. If your looking for somewhere to house an elderly family member who needs extra support I highly recommend Hawthorne lodge.
Carers are always so kind and friendly to residents and visitors. Such a warm homely environment! A lovely home, it gives me and my family such peace of mind knowing my nans happy and settled there.
We were searching for the right place for our mum, we realised that while it's easy to focus on how a home looks, what matters is the care, compassion, and dedication of the staff. Hawthorn stood out from the very beginning. The manager, was excellent-answering all questions promptly and working with agencies to make sure our mum could be placed quickly and smoothly. When we were shown around we immediately felt at ease. They took time to really listen to what we needed, and made us feel reassured. The staff have gone above and beyond to help her settle in. Every request has been acted on swiftly. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming-you are always greeted with a smile, and the staff team work so well together. Residents we've spoken to say it feels like family that's exactly the sense you get!.If you are looking for somewhere your loved one will be truly cared for, where relatives views are respected, where staff prioritise resident wellbeing we can wholeheartedly recommend Hawthorn
Honestly Hawthorn Lodge have made massive improvemts. You can see the happiness in not only the residents but the staff. You've always been amazing but the improvement is fantastic. Uncle John is very happy with you all.
I would just like to say everything at Hawthorn Lodge is kept to a very high standard from management to staff are all very professional. It gives me peace of mind knowing my mum is well cared for.
After hospital care, my mum was admitted to the care home. The transition was expertly handled by the home. Mum settled in quickly, and this was all due to the management and staff at the home. The staff are all lovely and approachable and really do look after not only my mum but other residents as well with care and attention. Mum is very happy and relaxed, and I feel more at ease now that she is safe and secure. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hawthorn to anyone.
I am always made welcome as a visitor to Hawthorn Lodge which has a friendly homely atmosphere. The staff are very kind to my Mother, and undertake their caring duties very conscientiously. They have been exceptional at dealing with several medical emergencies which have arisen. Communications with all staff are always clear and helpful. The home and Mum's room are always kept spotlessly clean and tidy. She really enjoys the food served and the special events arranged for residents and is very happy and settled here.
My uncle has been staying at Hawthorne Lodge since September last year. He's had a couple of falls but the home have been amazing. They telephone to update when he was taken into hospital. We also had my mum in care at the time, they were very understanding and just contacted me with updates, I always feel supported not pressurised, one member of staff in particular has been extremely empathetic. My uncle is declining but I feel reassured that he is being looked after. All staff are caring and attentive, thank you
My mum receives excellent care and support. The food is brilliant and the staff can not do enough for her. I would recommend the home. The cleaning is spotless, managers great and the carers are fantastic.
Every time we visit my uncle, we feel welcomed as one of the family. Someone always comes to check on him whilst we're in his room so I feel his safeguarding is paramount to the home. He is never without a hot drink and something to eat. His face lights up when the staff talk to him. He was in quite a bad place prior to residing at Hawthorne Lodge but he has most definitely improved and seems content. I don't want to sound patronising but I need to tell you that each and every single one of you are doing an amazing job. I don't think you realise how important it is, as a relative, that we leave our visit knowing our relatives are safe and being looked after by people who care. Thank you isn't enough.
Every time I visited, the staff have been welcoming, friendly and have time for a chat if I have any questions. Nothing ever seems too much. My brother is happy and settled.
My dad has been a resident at Hawthorne Lodge for almost a year now. He was a tricky customer when he first arrived at the care home due to his deteriorating physical and mental health and mood but within a few months he had settled well, thanks to the wonderful care team. As a nurse myself, I have visited many care homes during my career and although this isn’t the ‘poshest ‘ or ‘most plushly decorated’ care home, I feel that it’s the staff and care and love provided by the staff that make a care home a ‘home’. The staff are second to none and there are some real gems of carers there. I leave my dad there knowing that he is well cared for. Dad enjoys the food a lot. He doesn’t really partake in any activities but he is settled and has made some friends within the home. The manager and senior staff are all approachable and keep me informed of any issues straight away. The GP from the local surgery who provides health care is also good and keeps me updated.
My brother really enjoys it at Hawthorn Lodge. Staff are very friendly and all his needs are met. Updates to me are very good.
My mum arrived at this care home extremely distressed and suffering from severe dementia. This home brought my mum back from the brink of despair and confusion to the mum we knew and loved. I have no idea how they did this but they did. Suffice to say that when my mum passed she had been her old self for 3 months and both the staff and ourselves were equally as sad to lose her. I could not recommend this home enough. They didn't just care for our mum - they cared for us!
My mother was in this care home for 9 yrs, the care that she received was extremely good over the years. My mother had vascular dementia and over the last few years mother got quite nasty and lash out. But the care home coped with this very well. The care she received never faltered. Mum passed away on the 17th Jan 2020. The care home allowed us to have the wake at the home and they really did her well.
Excellent care and empathy. Always keeps me informed of any health issues etc.
The staff are very friendly and caring towards residents and visitors. They go above and beyond what I expected of them.
My mum has been in Hawthorn Lodge now for almost 2 years. I am so grateful for the care and kindness shown to her. When she is ill, we are kept informed and her GP contacted without delay. My mum's dementia is advanced, so it is difficult for her to join in with activities but she is provided with pampering, hand massages and her feet tap to the music when artist are on. Management and staff are always approachable, professional and kind.
