Dad has been very well looked after and helped to integrate into the Hawthorn community. I am comfortable that he is safe and happy and he has made friends and joined in activities.

His room is adequate for his need and its his little comfy space with his memorabilia.

My dad goes to Hawthorne for a weeks respite at a time. Always happy to stay a bit longer if he could. Staff excellent, always time for help and a chat. Well looked after. Plenty of food and cups of tea. I'm happy that I know he is looked after to a high standard. I have given 5 stars because, they do what we want as a family. He is looked after and happy.

Before being admitted to the home mother in law was very independent, not mixing. This was a worry to us thinking that she would not settle. How wrong we were. Despite not being able to hear well she is getting involved not only with the staff but other residents as well. This is all down to the professionalism of the management, nursing staff, cleaners and cooks at the home. They have really made her comfortable in her new surroundings. Believe you me she would be the first to say if she was not happy. I attend on a regular basis and see that they show the same amount of care and patience to other residents.. So a huge thank you to Hawthorn for all that you do.

My dad is a resident at Hawthorn Lodge and is so happy there and whenever I visit him, it is obvious why! All of the staff, not only the carers, are so friendly and approachable, and they genuinely do care. There are plenty of activities for the residents to get involved in, as well as downtime for them to enjoy too. The residents really are treated like family, it is their home and they are made to feel like it. I can't thank the staff at Hawthorn Lodge enough for everything they do for my dad, I know it can't be easy but you are so appreciated. Thank you!!

I moved my Nan in to Hawthorne lodge in February due to her needing more care than I can provide and I honestly can not praise the staff enough, they have been amazing with her care and are so patient. I visit my nan weekly but I know in between visits she is looked after and if anything happens I always get a call no matter how big or small. The staff also communicate well with the family and are extremely polite when asked a question. If your looking for somewhere to house an elderly family member who needs extra support I highly recommend Hawthorne lodge.

We were searching for the right place for our mum, we realised that while it's easy to focus on how a home looks, what matters is the care, compassion, and dedication of the staff. Hawthorn stood out from the very beginning. The manager, was excellent-answering all questions promptly and working with agencies to make sure our mum could be placed quickly and smoothly. When we were shown around we immediately felt at ease. They took time to really listen to what we needed, and made us feel reassured. The staff have gone above and beyond to help her settle in. Every request has been acted on swiftly. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming-you are always greeted with a smile, and the staff team work so well together. Residents we've spoken to say it feels like family that's exactly the sense you get!.If you are looking for somewhere your loved one will be truly cared for, where relatives views are respected, where staff prioritise resident wellbeing we can wholeheartedly recommend Hawthorn

After hospital care, my mum was admitted to the care home. The transition was expertly handled by the home. Mum settled in quickly, and this was all due to the management and staff at the home. The staff are all lovely and approachable and really do look after not only my mum but other residents as well with care and attention. Mum is very happy and relaxed, and I feel more at ease now that she is safe and secure. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hawthorn to anyone.

I am always made welcome as a visitor to Hawthorn Lodge which has a friendly homely atmosphere. The staff are very kind to my Mother, and undertake their caring duties very conscientiously. They have been exceptional at dealing with several medical emergencies which have arisen. Communications with all staff are always clear and helpful. The home and Mum's room are always kept spotlessly clean and tidy. She really enjoys the food served and the special events arranged for residents and is very happy and settled here.

My uncle has been staying at Hawthorne Lodge since September last year.
He's had a couple of falls but the home have been amazing.
They telephone to update when he was taken into hospital. We also had my mum in care at the time, they were very understanding and just contacted me with updates, I always feel supported not pressurised, one member of staff in particular has been extremely empathetic.
My uncle is declining but I feel reassured that he is being looked after.

All staff are caring and attentive, thank you

Every time we visit my uncle, we feel welcomed as one of the family. Someone always comes to check on him whilst we're in his room so I feel his safeguarding is paramount to the home.
He is never without a hot drink and something to eat. His face lights up when the staff talk to him.
He was in quite a bad place prior to residing at Hawthorne Lodge but he has most definitely improved and seems content.
I don't want to sound patronising but I need to tell you that each and every single one of you are doing an amazing job. I don't think you realise how important it is, as a relative, that we leave our visit knowing our relatives are safe and being looked after by people who care.

Thank you isn't enough.

My dad has been a resident at Hawthorne Lodge for almost a year now.
He was a tricky customer when he first arrived at the care home due to his deteriorating physical and mental health and mood but within a few months he had settled well, thanks to the wonderful care team.
As a nurse myself, I have visited many care homes during my career and although this isn’t the ‘poshest ‘ or ‘most plushly decorated’ care home, I feel that it’s the staff and care and love provided by the staff that make a care home a ‘home’.
The staff are second to none and there are some real gems of carers there. I leave my dad there knowing that he is well cared for.
Dad enjoys the food a lot. He doesn’t really partake in any activities but he is settled and has made some friends within the home.

The manager and senior staff are all approachable and keep me informed of any issues straight away. The GP from the local surgery who provides health care is also good and keeps me updated.
