View Full Details of Mavisbank Care HomeOur dad was in Mavisbank Care Home from August 2024 til he sadly passed away in March 2025. At our initial meeting with the management team it was emphasised the importance of treating Mavisbak as the residents' home and throughout our Dad's time there that is exactly as we found it. The managers and their team treat the residents with care and compassion and do everything they can to make the environment friendly and fun for them. During our Dad's last days the staff team demonstrated genuine compassion, sensitivity and thoughtfulness and we will always be truly grateful for that.
Every day I visit my mother as soon as I enter I am always greeted with a hello how are you from the management team right down to the cleaners and kitchen staff all the staff are happy, smiling, cheerful, talkative its as if they like their work and want to be there. I am very happy with the care my mother receives. After each visit I know I picked the right care home for my mother (Thank yous)
I always feel relaxed and welcome when i go to visit my aunt in this care home. The staff are always communicating and catering for the residents individual needs and seem to know the families well and always welcome you with a smile and say hello. They are always having activities etc to get not only the residents involved but their families too. Any suggestions etc are always welcomed and appreciated. Thank you to the manager and wonderful staff for their hard work and dedication!
Lovely, calm, clean and relaxing care home. My aunt is always spoken to/cared for in a respectful and dignified manner by the staff. The manager and Staff ate always very friendly and appear to know everyone including family members well.
I visit the care home weekly to visit my auntie. The staff are always busy but take the time to say hello. They are always so caring and attentive to the residents. I think the manager and her staff team do a fantastic job!! Keep up the good work!!
I think this is brilliant care home. It is warm, and there is a friendly, welcoming and caring atmosphere throughout. The manger is always very welcoming when you first go in and takes the time to speak to everyone. Her staff team are always on the go but their also attentive, kind and caring towards all the residents. The care home is always trying to get families etc involved and always open to suggestions and ideas. You can really tell this is more than just a job to the staff and the genuinely care about the residents which I think is the most important thing. Thank you to the manager and your wonderful staff team for the amazing job you all do!!!!
After looking at other care homes Mavisbank was the one that my sister and I decided this one that we wanted dad to be in. From the moment we were introduced to the Manager then the Deputy Manager gave us a tour of the home. Staff and residents are friendly and dad has settled in well and its peace of mind for the family that he is well looked after and at 96 years young he is keeping the staff on their toes. Dad enjoyed his day out, a credit to all the staff.
What a great time my dad had today in Mavisbank. Local singer in today for residents. Dad loves to dance and hardly sat down today apart from drinking his tea. Thanks to all the team for organising this. Hopefully there will be more of this to come
On looking at MB as an option for my mother, I was very impressed with the enthusiasm & genuine interest shown in the residents' care. This clearly filters down to the nurses, carers & auxiliary staff. They know everyone's name & always stop & talk to them; there's lots of laughter & a very homely atmosphere. As a relative, I feel welcomed, & comfortable when I have questions or concerns. I moved mum to MB after 2 years in a different care home. I now know she is well taken care of has settled well despite her dementia. Faced with a sad & difficult situation my parents and I definitely feel my burden has been eased by the caring and compassionate staff here.
My mother-in-law has been settled and was made very welcomed. And cant fault the care staff, are so lovely and manager door is always open for support and would recommend encourage to visit and to make their home.
Excellent service and care continue for my mum. From all the staff. The staff are responsive to all my mums needs and keep me up to date at all times.
We have an ongoing issue with laundry. Wrong clothes put in room - clothes not put away properly. The condition of the window frames in the lounge and bedrooms is shocking. Window frames need to be replaced urgently. Also, residents' en-suite bathrooms are freezing - heating needs addressing.
Pleased with the care my mum receives. Management and staff are approachable. Any issues I have raised have been dealt with. Nice atmosphere for residents.
The staff have been very caring with my 98 year old very frail mum. I no longer feel I have to worry about her constantly as she is being well looked after.
My mother has been in the home for 18 months. This is her second care home, as her previous one had offered a poor standard. Mavisbank is totally different. The staff are very attentive and caring. They are a shining beacon in the care home community.
I think the staff are professional, caring and considerate. They always treat my mother with kindness and understanding. Nothing is too much for them. Over the past year, I have got to know the staff, from management, receptionist, nurses, carers, cleaners and kitchen staff and they always treat my mother and her visitors with kindness.
Lovely location. The staff greet you at the door. No complaints at all about the interior of the home - spotless. Patients are well looked after, always lovely dressed and happy. We love our visits with our friend. The staff are so good and make us very welcome.
Mavisbank continues to deliver high-quality levels of care for my mum. The home is spotlessly clean, all the staff are friendly and the carers and nurses take good care of all the residents. Management are highly visible and always happy to have a chat/give advice or update what's going on in the home.
My two sisters came to Mavisbank in 2022. Unfortunately one of them passed away in December last year. The care and attention she received from all members of staff were excellent and we also received great help throughout the period. Mavisbank is an excellent care home and my nephew has also advised a few people of the home and whose relatives are now residents here. I also would have no hesitation in recommending it.
My observations on visiting my sister. 1. On entering staff very pleasant and welcoming, including manager and reception. 2, My sister always out of bed and usually in day area, that is important to me. 3. Day area, staff always engaging with occupants. 4. Rooms always clean and tidy. Very happy with Mavisbank Care Home. Thanks, Peter Young
