Reviews

9.3 Mavis Bank Care Home has a Review Score of 9.3 (9.275)

The Review Score of 9.3 (maximum of 10) for Mavis Bank Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 11 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Mavis Bank Care Home in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.608 for Mavis Bank Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (83 Excellents x 5) + (35 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 125 Ratings = 4.608

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.667 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mavis Bank Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 12 positive Reviews (60 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 8 Reviews ÷ 12 Target = 0.667

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My ninety-two year old mother received respite care for three weeks in Mavisbank.
We were very happy with the care and attention she received.
All the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. She had a very nice room. We also felt that Mavisbank had a nice fresh and clean air to it. We will certainly be happy for my mother to return there.

Mavis Bank is a well-situated house with good facilities and caring staff. There are lots of activities suitable for all the residents. Communication is good and staff are receptive to my concerns. It is a safe home and while is now in need of some decoration is clean and adequate.

Excellent entertainment within establishment, with exceptional external visits to local amenities. Good use of local schools and third sector to support initiatives and activities.
I'm particularly impressed with the commitment of staff and management.
Premises are tired and require some investment.
I am more than satisfied with the care provided to my father.

My mum has came on excellent since coming to stay here. She was placed in two different homes prior to this which was a nightmare. Mavis Bank is fantastic and the care is 100%. Patients are happy and the staff are so pleasant. I couldn't recommend this place any more. It doesn't feel like a care home, its like one big house with such a welcoming feeling. The staff go that extra mile for the patients too!
