Excellent friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. They are always happy to help and keep me updated as to how my aunt is doing. My aunt seems settled and happy in her new home. My aunt enjoys getting her hair done and enjoys the activities provided. I always leave happy knowing she is well looked after and safe.

My mother was admitted to Mavisbank in May 2022, along with her sister.

Since they moved to Mavisbank, we, as a family, have been very happy with the standard of care they have received. Staff are always friendly and welcoming to visitors and have the resident's best interests at heart. The staff are led by an excellent home manager.

I have noticed a real difference in my mum since she moved into Mavisbank. She looks and sounds happier. She is definitely benefitting from the company around meal times and is eating better. I can see she feels more secure and both supported in the home. She has really enjoyed interacting with staff pets. It was so lovely to see the photos of her with "Harvey" (therapy pet). Thank you for taking such good care of Mum. She talks about her room as her "home".

The manager is a first-class professional at her job. She runs a well-organised care home with the highest of care delivery and standards. All the staff are caring and very respectful in all aspects of this service. As a nurse of 35 years and in the caring profession myself I was very impressed by the manager the first time me and my brother met her, we were very impressed by her approach and were more than happy to put our Mum into her care. Thank you.

From the first day of entering the home the staff have been 100%, from management to cleaners. Makes my family and I at ease to see my wife happy, comfortable and content, as at first she was very agitated. I can not praise them enough.

In my experience, the care provided by Mavisbank Care Home staff has been excellent. My mum is happy and in good physical condition despite her Alzheimers. She enjoys the activities provided and social provisions. The home staff are very good at maintaining contact with myself, ensuring that I am always informed of my mum's condition and any issues that have arisen.

The home is an excellent place for the elderly with disabilities. Unfortunately, as my mother was visually handicapped and deaf it was not right for her and I think she will be much happier with her family.
Staff are excellent, treating residents like family.

My only complaint is about laundry, although the lady is lovely, quite often Mum was wearing other people's clothes instead of her own, especially knickers and socks. All clothes were labelled, she needed more help with 60 residents.

Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Mavisbank Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback and we would like to wish your mother all the best with her family. We will review our laundry processes and hours to see how we can improve, following your feedback.

Personal care is excellent. Friendly staff, genuine care. Helpful and professional.
My only gripe is when residents are being readied please put a sign on the door, 'Busy' or similar.

Mavisbank is cleaner looking too.

We found Mavisbank to be welcoming and friendly. Staff are warm and friendly and always exhibit genuine empathy and kindness. The care home itself is warm and comfortable, with high-quality pictures and fittings - there is certainly a homely atmosphere. Staff always make time to answer any queries and provide privacy for personal discussions with residents' relatives. So far, our family is more than happy with our decision to move our relative into Mavisbank.

My mother moved to Mavisbank Care Home in the summer of this year. Since then, I have always been impressed with the staff. They care about all their residents and take time with them. No request for help is ignored and they encourage the residents to do things, from dressing themselves to joining in social events.

My mother has only been in the home for 3 days. First impressions are good. My mum, who is 97 and blind seems settled. Obviously, she is still finding her way around. She is enjoying her meals and the staff are lovely with her.

As I live in France and am 75, I can only visit occasionally but will keep in touch by telephone.
