View Full Details of Laurel Bank Care HomeWe want to express our gratitude for the exceptional care and support given to our mum. Specifically keeping her clean, fresh and content with her personal care and dignity. We want to acknowledge the impact their work has on our mum's well-being and our peace of mind. Mum likes to watch entertainers, singers and dancers but, little craft work even though they try to encourage her. However, they take time to engage in conversation with mum and every resident, taking time with them. They welcome her family and they never discourage when we sometimes turn up at the same time in numbers. We did have concerns at the beginning of her residency, that she wasn't drinking. We want to thank management for turning this around. All staff care for all residents with respect and kindness. They are all angels and we love them.
Lovely home. Caring staff. Dad loves it and that is the most important thing. Well run and approachable management. They solve issues straight away. Fantastic.
I find Laurel Bank a lovely place for my brother staff are very kind and lovely. The rooms are cleaned every day and are a good standard. Plenty of activities if clients want to join in. I am happy my brother is a resident here.
The care received by my mother is first lass all the staff show care and compassion to her but also to the family. They always keep me informed of any changes I could not ask for better care.
Excellent care given to my mum. When she first went in she was quite poorly & they took goid care of her & reassured her. She is now better than when she first went in & needs less care now but still is cared for very well.
The caring support given to my relative is so reassuring to me. Having a loved one in a home is difficult but all the staff, from catering and housekeeping to carers and management, are truly caring. With the new owners I hope to see more improvements both internal and external.
Lovely care home. Staff are caring and compassionate. The cleanliness of the home is second to non. The meals are always varied and well received. I wouldn't fail to recommend this home.
During repeated visits to see my uncle, such an alarming experience. Clearly Chronic Understaffing - Reception consistently unmanned; staff rarely visible. Emergency alarms (used by my uncle) went unanswered, risking safety during crises. Hygiene Failures, Persistent foul odors, and dirty, No visitor sign in book on some visits, creating critical fire evacuation risks. Reception area not staffed. Residents isolated for hours without checks, we sat for over a hour without any staff making a visit. Some Common areas sit empty, yet TVs/lights wastefully run, reflecting poor oversight. Systemic Disarray, The facility lacks structure, prioritisation of care, and staff engagement. Basic hygiene, safety, and dignity appear to be disregarded. Clothing missing for weeks on end, This is not how a patient with dementia should be treated. The place appears to lack quality management and leadership.
On my first visit to Laurel Bank to assess whether my mother should move there from another care home I was impressed with the car park facility and the actual building of the care home. It's a purpose-built home unlike a lot of others I visited. Large bedrooms/toilet facilities etc. Large hallways/lounges/dining rooms. Clean everywhere. Friendly and courteous staff. Menus very varied.
I find the staff very helpful and welcoming. They always get back to me when requesting respite care for mum with available dates and try their best to accommodate requests. I feel mum is safe and well looked after whilst on respite which gives me a much needed break.
Laurel Bank Care Home has a warm and friendly welcoming when you first arrive, which makes you feel confident and relaxed when you know the staff here are looking after your mum, who you want the best care for. Mum is suffering from dementia bless her, so she gets very confused some days but all the staff are so lovely with her, reassuring her all the time. They always make her look nice for when any of her family go to visit her, which is every day. From the cleaners to the entertainment staff, it feels like one big family, which is what mum is used to. Her room is always lovely and clean so we are very happy mum is staying there. Thank you.
Mum seems to have settled well at Laurel Bank. She hasn't been there long but she seems to have settled well. All the staff are really good to her and try really hard to meet her needs.
My mum has been in the care of Laurel Bank since September and has settled well due to the friendly and caring staff both those who directly care for her and those that administer and organise. All staff have been supportive of Mum, myself, and the wider family during what could have been a difficult time for Mum. Whenever I have called in, the home is clean and tidy, friendly and helpful, attentive and professional. They all listen well and get creative to help make things happen. Their community connections are very helpful and lovely to see the range of daily activities to keep residents stimulated and interested in all that is going on. Thank you.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The care of my Father is very good. Communication with the home/staff is good. The home needs refurbishing in communal areas and individual rooms but this is being addressed.
My stepmother has been in the care of Laurel Bank since January 2024 and from the beginning of her care has enjoyed continual professional care. We (my husband +1) are truly confident that my stepmother is receiving the best care possible. The transition from home to care was not easy for my stepmother, but at every turn, she was treated with great patience and respect. Now she is in her final weeks, everything is being done that can possibly be done. Laurel Bank and its staff have my total gratitude.
Laurel Bank greets everyone with a warm and friendly welcome. The manager of the home is excellent as are the deputy manager, care manager, and administrator giving time and commitment to help people whatever their needs, whilst remembering names and situations. All the staff employed in different roles contribute to the smooth running of the home by doing their best in a pleasant friendly way. The carers are wonderful in attending to the personal needs of the residents with patience, understanding, and care and their commitment to residents is to be recommended and is reassuring.
Laurel Bank has been looking after my Brother since 11.07.24. I find the care they have shown to my Brother to be outstanding. They are kind and caring, not just to my Brother but also to me his Sister, and my extended family. My Brother is settled and happy at Laurel Bank. He has made friends and feels safe.
My partner has been here since the 15th of July. I am very happy with everything and peace of mind knowing he is being cared for 24 hours a day. If they need me they ring me straight away. Keep up the good work.
Staff always friendly on arrival and good with keeping you informed on relatives' progress. Solutions are offered if any problems and always support if you need it. Home is always tidy and clean, reception always cheery and nicely decorated with patient artwork and crafting as the seasons and events pass.
My mother has been in Laurel Bank Care Home since February 2023. She is very well cared for, kept clean, warm, well fed and comfortable. We are very satisfied with the care she is receiving.
