View Full Details of Swan House Care HomeThis is too hard to write tbh, my mum was only here for 5 days and passed away! It does make us wonder if she hadn't of come here she may of had longer with us! The lady "in charge" was rude and had no feelings especially as my mum passed away just as I got there! If it wasn't for the incredible nurse in charge on the day (red hair), I wouldn't of been able to cope. Nothing was explained to us, the manager didn't even come and see us whilst everything was happening it was left to one single nurse, who needs a massive thankyou. Also staff weren't quick enough when a buzzer was called for help. This was awful and I'm not sure if they are trained in end of life? We will obviously be taking this further. But at the moment we are having to sort everything out.
I am able to visit my Dad when I want and I go often. He is always clean and tidy. There is always a drink on his table and he has his meals taken to his room as he prefers that. He has his own bathroom and a buzzer in his room is he needs assistance. I have found the nursing staff very efficient. The carers are friendly and cheerful and the home has a good atmosphere. There seems to be plenty of staff around the home. The manager is extremely helpful, caring and approachable. Everyone has been very good in helping my Dad settle in and also helpful to me and a difficult time.
Hard working management and staff in all areas.
Communication between family and staff/management is some what lacking and they try to arrange options and hearing appointments are difficult if they require GP assistance for example Ear Syringing. The care given to my friend is done with dignity and care. He is well dressed ( with his own clothes). Meals can be a but 'same old same old' but that is being addressed with new menus it is just taking too long. The staff try to engage him in activities, not always successful. All in all the care given, the amenities are improving. The home was rebranded in September 2024, so has a way to go.
The professionalism, patience, and empathy have been outstanding from the nurses to the carers. Thank you for creating a warm welcome. Very happy with the care home.
Friendly atmosphere when you come into main door. Great staff. Brilliant activities.
Wow! Just had an amazing day at the VE party in Chatteris. A convoy of wheelchairs left Swan house care home, we has a buffet, quiz, entertainer and then a raffle. Everyone singing and laughing with the community. Thank you guys for looking after my dad as if he were yours, it means so much.
VE celebration 13 residents attended with wheelchairs, chatters working mens club, every body had a great time. The staff are amazing and very caring lovely people.
After visiting my cousin in the hospital where he spent 12 weeks I was sad to see his usual happy personality had gone. I have visited him 4 times in the past 6 weeks at Swan House and his persona has changed 100%. The staff are very helpful and attentive and he has nothing but praise for them. He is very happy at Swan House and cannot praise the food enough. Overall the cleanliness, the staff and the food are excellent. Thank you for keeping him happy and comfortable.
Dad moved into Swan House in February this year. I feel he has settled really well and this is down to the committed staff. Whenever I visit all of the staff are welcoming and friendly and when I leave Swan House I know that my dad will be safe and well cared for. The food provided is excellent and all dietary requirements are catered for. I feel my dad is treated with respect and dignity. The entertainment and activities are fun too.
Swan House is a very nice home, my mum has been here for a couple of years. The staff are wonderful and very kind and helpful and treat the residents with respect and dignity at all times. From what I can see on my visits, the food is very good and fresh and the cleanliness is brilliant. The decor needs to be updated but I understand this is to come now it is under new management, I personally am happy.
Mum was in Swan House for almost three years and enjoyed her time there. Recently she was very poorly, but in her last days was treated very caringly and compassionately. We could not have asked for anything better. All the staff were very considerate and were also very mindful of visitors. She was always treated with dignity and respect. I only have good things to say. Great entertainment and activities too.
Best care ever, staff excellent, management brilliant, love everything, Mum looks excellent.
Such a friendly place. The staff have become like family. Every single person I have come in contact with has been a joy to be around. Nothing is ever too much trouble and any issues are resolved immediately and with care. I can not recommend highly enough.
For the cert short time Mum was a resident here in Swan House, she settled very well. She was made very welcome and adapted to the environment well. She enjoyed the varied activities.
For the short time my stepdad was at Swan House he received excellent care, pleased with his room and very friendly and caring staff.
We had a review for our mother with a staff member and was quite a reassuring assessment of what the home provides and in the support plan. It was a very thorough review of our mother's current care needs and future needs.
My mother recently passed away in Swan House, where she had been a resident for 9 1/2 weeks. I cannot praise the staff and management enough. My mother experienced a difficult time during her stay due to her deteriorating health, and I felt reassured and very grateful for the support and care she received throughout. The care staff were wonderful, and nothing was too much trouble. The nursing staff were also amazing and were very open and transparent with me about all aspects of my mum's ongoing care and health needs. I consider losing my mum the hardest experience, and I was so grateful she was at Swan House, where they not only gave her the best care but consistently supported me.
My mum was a temporary resident at Swan House. The care was first class. All staff were very kind to my mum.
My father moved into Swan House a few months ago and has settled in very well. The staff and management team have made him feel very safe and welcome and provide an impressive and reassuring level of care. It's never easy when a parent moves into a care home, but the team at Swan House have been very helpful and supportive.
