The facilities are great and the home is comfortable, what makes this place special though is the excellent staff.
I am delighted to share my positive experience of my dads care home. Initially hesitant to leave his home of over 50 years, he quickly settled in and now feels comfortable and at home. The imaginative activities have brought him joy and companionship enriching his life significantly. As a family we feel grateful that he has found a new place to belong, where he is well cared for and happy. the care homes warm atmosphere and dedication to resident well being are truly commendable. At all times I can see he has his dignity and independence, which is truly remarkable
I thoroughly enjoy everything about being in PCH. The staff in particular are caring, always cheerful and helpful. Good to be in the company of nice people. It feels like a top quality hotel.
I came here after a stay in hospital with acute pancreatitis. I looked and felt awful. The care I have received has been wonderful. The staff are all amazing, really kind and thoughtful. The food is wonderful I have gained weight and look and feel so much better. The room is clean and bright and there is plenty of cupboard and drawer space. My visitors all say how well I look now. The staff arranged to have a visit from the GP too, The ladies at my table were lovely, cheerful, intelligent and friendly. Entertainment and activities are well arranged The home is excellent in every way. I am almost sorry to be going home!
I like living at PCH because it's very nice and everybody is nice. We go on weekly bus trips.
A very comfortable home. Friendly. Lots to do and days out.
My Dad moved into PC House in December and has settled in really well to a wonderful, homely, caring environment. The staff are simply exceptional and care for the residents in a genuine and thoughtful manner. My Dad really enjoys the food, the company and the large range of in-house activities and trips out. He's settled, safe and happy which is all we can ask for.
I have decided that I can no longer live safely on my own and Philip Cussins House has proved as an ideal solution to my problem. The staff are very caring without being fussy or controlling, and consequently, the atmosphere in here is very pleasant indeed. The food is excellent. Activities are provided and also trips out into this beautiful countryside. I think that I have been very lucky to have been accepted into Philip Cussins House.
Mam is going from strength to strength since becoming a resident in Philip Cussins House. Her mobility is much improved. She enjoys outings and mealtimes and special events. She enjoys chatting with other residents and to family during visits. The standard of care and consistency of staff is excellent with many staff members having worked here for 5 years. Thank you.
I was brought here following advice after a fall at home and given a single room. I have been very comfortable and fed extremely well. The staff throughout are charming with a delightful sense of humour, making day by day living enjoyable. Problems which may arise are dealt with in a sensible way, making day by day living very pleasant with staff and fellow guests. It is good to hear laughter from time to time.
My Mothers care at Philip Cussins House has been absolutely exemplary. The staff are outstanding and every effort is made to create a real home rather than an institution. The food is excellent and varied, and residents enjoy a wide range of activities and outings. Moving to PCH has improved her physical and mental health and I would recommend this care home very highly.
I found the home very clean and tidy and the staff very happy and welcoming.
My mother has lived at the home since the end of May 2024. She has settled well. The staff are excellent, caring and friendly. They treat my mother with dignity and care and are always kind to our family too. They encourage Mam to be independent as far as she can. Her mobility has improved which is really important. I can't praise this home enough.
I have just spent five weeks in respite care at Philip Cussins House. This was my second respite stay and there is nowhere else I'd want to stay. I cannot fault any aspect of the care given. The staff are so friendly, willing, hardworking and patient. Nothing is too much trouble and they are all so happy in their work. I have an open invitation to drop in anytime I'm passing, and I will!
Philip Cussins House is the most caring and friendly of residential homes. My mother had no hesitation in requesting a respite care stay following hospitalisation, after a previous stay last year. She was welcomed back like a long-lost friend and made to feel very much at home, with good food, a lively atmosphere and plenty of people to chat a laugh with, the days fly by. The staff really cannot do enough for all their residents.
The care and kindness shown by the staff to residents is wonderful. The food is always first class. The home is cleaned and well-maintained but is starting to look a little tired. I feel there are very few activities to stimulate residents other than the occasional Bingo and Dominoes. Guest speakers or debates amongst residents would be good. I feel also that the outside area could be made nicer for residents when the weather is good.
I am amazed at the care, concern, positive atmosphere and deep concern shown by all carers and especially the managers.
I enjoy the bus trips and walking out. I am happy here.
I have been accompanying my mother to the home and picking her up for 2-3 weeks. I spend up to an hour or so each time. In all that time, I have not once heard an impatient word from any staff member and only observed calm, caring and pleasant interaction between the staff and the residents. The rooms are all clean, neat and well-kept at all times and any request has been responded to quickly, efficiently and in a friendly way. It's a warm, homely environment!
