View Full Details of Wickham Care HomeI cannot praise the staff and management highly enough, in every instance they are all kind, courteous, thoughtful, attentive and vigilant. The staff treat all residents respectfully and go to great lengths to satisfy their needs. I can't speak other than I find. Resdients visitors are treated well too.
Mum is always smiling and laughing when I visit. She seems happy and settled. She looks well cared for and has already built relationships with staff. All the carers and staff are so friendly, welcoming and does feel like a 'home from home'. I'm so glad I chose this for my mum.
Visited mum on a few occasions and the staff are always helpful and keep us updated with her progress. Rooms are always clean and tidy as is my mum.
I have always found the staff and management very kind and caring. Not only to the residents but to family as well which means so much. They will always find time to answer any questions and assist in every way possible.
The overall care of my mother is excellent. The staff are very attentive. Despite my mother's dementia she enjoys the meals and sometimes contributes to the activities depending on her current mood. Despite this, I have witnessed the staff's attempts to include her. The building itself is becoming quite tired. I am confident my mother is well looked after.
I have only visited 4 times for approximately one hour each time. I do not know anything about the activities or the food provided or the value for money so I couldn't complete the form very accurately, but everything seems fine to me. My cousin appears to be happier now than when she did when she first moved in.
I am happy with the way my wife is being cared for. The staff are generally helpful and friendly, and I am usually offered a drink when I visit. They are often talking to the residents, and sometimes, when I go there are activities happening.
Every visit, I am made very welcome. I find the staff considerate at all times.
Staff always very pleasant and helpful.
The home has changed so much over the last 2 years with the new staff team and management, the residents go into the community on a regular basis, the activity staff go out of their way to provide as much fun as they can each day, such a happy place to come and see my friend she seems so happy and settled.
Mum is very happy living here all the staff are fantastic and have been a great help to me with mum. Could not wish for more.
The home looked after my mum for two years now. Mum is very well cared for by all the staff. The activities team have a great program every week. They always keep the residents stimulated and they all enjoy activities most days. Mum's room is clean and tidy but the windows are always closed. The care staff have mum well dressed and her hair always looks beautiful just like she would like it. I don't know the main manager.
Everybody is so helpful and kind. Always carers on hand. Everybody is well looked after. The home is clean and well looked after. Plenty of drinks are available. Excellent all round.
Everyone at Willowmead has been fantastic with Mum and very helpful with everything. I have seen Mum improve so much since being here. She is so much happier in herself, and as for me, a weight has been lifted off my very heavy shoulders, so thank you for everything.
Very lovely to see Mum really happy. There are so many activities for Mum to do. Very nice to know Mum is safe here. Lovely to see Facebook showing all things you do here.
Since my father's death almost a year ago I have tried to obtain a copy of his daily care log for the day he passed. Despite 3 requests to the manager of Willowmead, e-mails to the CEO of Gold Care homes, the regional manager (plus a telephone call), and finally the complaints department of Gold Care homes, I have received nothing. Next of Kin are entitled to this information, yet all requests have been ignored by Gold Care Homes and I am at a complete loss as to why. This has meant the grieving process has been severely impacted by not understanding his final hours, nor why we were not called when he started to deteriorate. As a family, we are extremely disappointed and appalled by the complete lack of communication from the Manager and Gold Care Homes.
The care that my father-in-law receives is very good and I am pleased to see how well the staff have my father-in-law's interests at heart.
This home has come to the forefront in helping us to calm and care for my father, in what was a confusing and unstable time. To see how he has now settled has been pleasing for us.
Do not send your loved ones here. My father went in for respite care. Despite having Alzheimers he was healthy and walked in to the building. 4 days later he was stretchered out - and is still in hospital 4 weeks later and counting.
Absolutely appalling. My father-in-law was admitted on Wednesday. On Sunday, we had to call an ambulance to get him out of there. They hadn't fed him or given him any fluids. He is now in hospital. That is how we know he wasn't given any food or fluids.
