View Full Details of Bright Meadows Care HomeBased on a weekly visit observation, overall I would say that the staff at the care home all seem to be caring and diligent, although it sometimes appears that they are stretched and possibly under resourced to cope with the ongoing demands and requirements of the residents. My mum only has good things to say about the staff, but she isn't quite as complimentary about the choice of food on the menu.
There is a lack of care for the residents; they are not cared for with respect or regard for their dignity. My dad is often dirty and unshaven. He has lost a lot of weight and as a result he is supposed to be individually supervised at mealtimes, but the staff don't do it. The management keeps promising to resolve the issues, but it doesn't improve. There are some excellent staff members, particularly the nurses in charge of the unit.
Visited mum on Autumn Berry, Mum is settled and always looks well: mum loves the food, her room is always clean which is brilliant as I am really fussy. The whole place is very welcoming, clean and knowledgeable. I'm happy so far, just wish there was more to do during the day as mum is very active still.
I always look forward to coming and wish I could stop longer. Staff are always helpful and caring with the residents. They (the staff) are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, they have a connection with the residents that's built on trust, you can see this while visiting, the staff try their best and no one can ask for anything more.
Whilst I understand that the residents can at time be challanging. The overall experience is good. The staff seem to care about the residents, but there have been some issues with laundry and the cleanliness of her room. I do understand she can be quite difficult at times but I dont want to visit and spend quality time cleaning & tidying her room. I have passed these issues with the senior in charge and they take on board my concerns and make every effort to keep on top of things. As with all things there is room for improvment. But I do understand the difficulty the staff face daily. And my wife seems settled.
My experience is generally good Staff are helpfull issues are addressed & Mum is doing well.
After being a resident for 4 years I know Mum is always safe and looked after. The management are attentive and proactive.
My wife has been a resident at Bright Meadows Care Home for 21 months. The home is always spotlessly clean and well maintained. Her care is exceptional by dedicated carers. Every member of management, carers, nursing etc. are very friendly and thoughtful. I'd like to mention the area manager, I asked for a special request and he delivered within the week. My wife and myself benefitted from this show of kindness. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bright Meadows for your loved ones.
I am extremely happy with the care my mum has received since arriving at Bright Meadows. All the staff are very caring and attentive. I am reassured that she is in the very best hands. One staff member goes above and beyond on every level and is an absolute asset.
Carers amazing. Food could be improved. Chair in the lounge (winter) poorly maintained, stained, smelly at times, cushions missing. Gardens done to a high standard, as with cleaning of the rooms, resident areas. Updated cafe area amazing. My husband has received excellent care from the first day he moved into Bright Meadows.
My mother came into this care home January '25. The care she recieves is brilliant. My mum is struggling with anxiety she does not like the fact that other residents are getting into her room. She has been told to lock her room door but she forgets sometimes due to dementia. She does not feel safe she has told us and its is one reason why she does not want to leave her room as she feels her possesions will be stolen. As a family we dont like people going into her room either. Staff just say lock the door.
My review of the care home is that it is an excellent home for my husband. It is a caring and clean home.
It was my wife's birthday on 19 March she had a lovely day. We went to the community room and played music with many residents and friends. My daughter and sister came we had drinks and cake it was lovely. The day after her sister came and we sat in the garden with the weather being nice. Other residents came out we had a really good time. Thanks to all the staff she had a wonderful birthday.
Very impressed with the care home. Rooms are kept very clean and my friend is very well looked after. All the staff I have met are lovely and are very helpful. Always have a smile on their faces under very difficult conditions as my friend like a lot of the residents are not very well.
My husband was admitted to Bright Meadows Care Home in the middle of August 2024. I was very surprised when entering the building to my husband's bedroom, no nasty smells, everywhere is clean and bright. The whole care team greeted me with a warm, friendly smile and polite conversation. My worries and concerns have all gone. He is receiving excellent care and wants to stay forever.
Excellent home, my dad is happy, secure and so well looked after. Peace of mind for the family at last. The home management make a real effort to get to know him and really treat him with dignity and best of all, humour. All staff are excellent, from the reception to care team. Would recommend the home, excellent care. Thank you.
I have been visiting my mum for one week. She is happy here which is down to the environment and the staff. Everything appears very clean and tidy. The lounge and Mum's room are bright and airy, and the en-suite is a real bonus. Overall my first impressions are very good. Never been during meal times so I can't comment on the food, but Mum said it's very good.
Not the best, each time I visit it's not clean, not enough carers. Most carers are lovely and caring, some aren't. The sensory room is a great idea. The residents need more attention i.e so many carers to so many residents. I feel most of the time the carers are all together in one place, instead of being spread. This would help with things like accidents.
My wife seems settled. She has a nice room, staff very helpful, home looks nice and clean, staff also very polite. Outside areas are clean and tidy.
Bright Meadows Care Home provides care for my nana. The staff are nice and occasionally will stop and have a chat about my nan's care and how she has been doing.
