View Full Details of Leighton ForestThe manager has been of excellent help to my family, as we have been going through a lot. We have a lot to talk about, my wife and her wishes. The care staff are of great help most of the time, but are good. I do wish the manager and staff well.
A lovely care home set in a beautiful location, my mum was treated with care, respect and dignity. The staff were welcoming, polite, and professional. Thank you for looking after my mum and keeping her safe during her final days.
My mum came in for respite care after living at home and having several falls. It was decided that she needed to stay permanently. Whilst she has found it hard to settle I think she is coming to terms that she is in the best possible place. I can only have praise for the way my mum was welcomed by all the staff and they have quickly got to know how she likes to be helped.i have found all the staff friendly, welcoming and professional. I am very happy that she is being well cared for.
The most important thing in a care home is the people who provide the care, everyone I met at Leighton Forrest was lovely to my mum, and also to my dad who who was feeling guilty about having to give up caring for her himself. Thanks to everyone!
Since my brother has been a resident he has been slowly introduced to the home staff and residents, from living a solitary life has had difficulty in adjusting. Now he seems much happier, is becoming more social and is putting on weight. He now has a more rewarding life with social interaction, good food and personal care.
My Mum spent the final six weeks of her life at Leighton Forest. She was relieved to be out of hospital and have her own room and telly but what meant much more to her was the personal care she received. Everyone made an effort to get to know Mum, including which flavor of ice cream she liked. This is much more important than correctly following all procedures. For bed-bound residents the vital thing is how fast the call button is answered, this was great on the whole and Mum wasn't forgotten even when many other residents had also pressed theirs. The only thing I would improve is the food, a few times it was lukewarm when it got to Mum's room and a few times fish and gravy were on the same plate. My grandfather-in-law spent years in care homes, I know how bad they can be. Leighton Forest is the best I've ever experienced.
A group of friends visited to celebrate an early Christmas with our friend who is a resident. We were all made most welcome and a communal room made available for a carol concert. The room was clean and welcoming. The whole environment in the building was warm, welcoming and clean and tidy. Without any smell. A great experience for everyone.
A sizeable group of us visited our friend in the care home. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff. The manager was so professional, she spoke to us all privately about how to speak and behave with our poorly friend who has Parkinson's. We found that to show genuine care and empathy for our friend. The whole environment was clean and well cared for.
My father recently moved to Leighton Forest. I work in healthcare and have experience of working with a number of care homes. I am really happy with our experience at Leighton Forest. The staff are friendly and professional - they take the time to get to know both the resident and their family. The management team are present and responsive - they take on board feedback and it is clear that the resident's wellbeing is their top priority. The home itself is nice - good social space, it is clean and the woodland setting is lovely.
My Mother was in Leighton Forest for D2A. She was treated with respect, dignity, and fabulous care from each member of staff from start to finish. The home was very well-staffed and very clean. She was included in activities and enjoyed them.
Would like to say wow a big thank you for the care that Mum got today 7th October. Above and beyond are the words today. The family really appreciated what the manager did today. Mum couldn't have been in better hands. Thank you.
My father came to Leighton Forest directly from hospital under assessment and for end-of-life care. He passed away after only three weeks but the care he and we, his family, received was outstanding. Although he wanted to be at home, he frequently told us how kind and helpful the staff were. During his last week of life, every (cleaners, carers, nurses, admin and management) showed so much care and support, sympathy and dignity. We cannot thank them enough.
My wife had been in Hospital for 2 weeks and was unable to come home so we went unannounced as requested by the home. The Manager met us and spent an hour with us talking about the home and showing us the facilities. At the conclusion my two daughters and I decided we did not need to look further. My wife was admitted on 5th August and from the word go she was treated with care and compassion by all staff and there were several who went above and beyond.
My mum was transferred to Leighton Forest from a dreadful care home. I only wished my mum had come here straight away from the hospital after a fall. The staff are lovely and caring and my mum loves it here. I truly believe that Leighton Forest will get my mum walking again. I am very happy with the care my mum is getting. Thank you.
Following Dad being discharged from the hospital, Leighton Forest was suggested as the best place for his needs. Although he was only there for 3 weeks before he died, he was looked after with care and dignity. The staff were all lovely to Dad and the family.
Very nice clean and modern care home with excellent and very friendly and helpful staff. My dad who was extremely against going there for a respite stay settled in very quickly and enjoyed his time there. Thanks to all the staff he is a lot better now and is able to return home.
I was transferred from the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital to the Leighton Forest Care Home on 21st May suffering with Terminal Cancer. From the moment I arrived the service and care I have received has been exceptional. The Medical and Caring staff go out of their way to make life easier for me and nothing seems to be too much trouble. My room is very comfortable with all the facilities I need. Caring and Medical staff are available at the press of an alarm button with a prompt response time. Tea and Coffee is served throughout the day. There is a very good and varied choice of food. There is an extensive choice of activities throughout the day for those who wish to participate. Hairdressing is also available once a week. A very professional, caring and pro-active manager leading by example. I would have no hesitation in recommending Leighton Forest.
My husband was a resident of Leighton Forest for 2 months. During his stay, he received truly excellent care. He was quite a challenge at times but the staff treated him with such tender kindness and patience. No one could have looked after him better. I do not hesitate to recommend Leighton Forest to others searching for excellent care for their loved ones, especially those nearing the end of their lives.
Beautifully furnished and decorated care home with lovely caring staff. The manager is very pro-active and nothing is too much trouble for her. There were a couple of minor issues with the food as Mum is vegetarian and the food choice was repetitive but this was mainly down to my mum being particularly fussy! Mum loved her stay at Leighton Forest and will definitely return for respite care. Thank you to everyone involved in Mum's care.
Mother fought tooth and nail not to go into a care home. Truth is she hasn’t been this happy for a long time. She is more herself now than she has been in years. The staff are lovely, professional and very supportive. I couldn’t be more relieved and hopeful for a brighter future for Mother and us. I would recommend Leighton Forest as the right place for your loved one, should the time come.
