View Full Details of Linlithgow Care HomeMy mother has been well cared for over the last 2 years since she became a resident. She has no mobility so is totally dependent on the staff for all her needs. The staff are kind, patient and understand what's required for her care. The new telephone system is not as good as the last one so it can be difficult to reach her wing. They keep me informed of any changes to her wellbeing.
My husband has been in Linlithgow Care Home for 4.5 years because of dementia. In this time he has deteriorated until he now has to have help with all functions. Since he entered the home he has been very well looked after both physically and mentally. All the staff are very caring and friendly both to the residents and their families. Any queries about my husbands care are always answered quickly and helpfully.
Sadly, my mum passed away whilst in care at Linlithgow. My "Ma" spent her final months with supportive and caring people after Dementia took its toll. The Nursing and Administrative staff took the time to look after my mum's needs and supported my family throughout. The staff were always willing to take time out of their hectic day to keep us informed of any developments in her condition. As my mum's life came to an end, caring staff were with her in her final moments. Even when the end came, the staff were there for us to answer any questions and help us with a reassuring smile. I cannot thank them enough.
Mum is becoming more sociable, spending time with the other residents and taking part in the organised activities. When I visited in May she proudly showed me her beautiful nails - she'd had a manicure! I've never seen her wearing nail polish and she was very happy with it. Of course I then had to admire all her friend's nails as well.
The review was very good and enlightening. We were informed of all the treatment and help my husband has received. I could not be more pleased.
We have had some ups and downs since my mother was admitted to the care home in November 23. With a history of oral thrush infections, reliant on regular & good mouth care, mum was admitted to hospital in the autumn of 24. There seems to be confusion between local GP & care home as to how to treat this, resulting in hospitalisation. Fortunately, the issue has been resolved for the time being. Missing clothes still seems to be an issue. I would like to see plans on renovations of the rooms - mum's could do with a freshen up, including new window curtains, light fittings as well as better ventilation, it is often far too warm.
My mother has been a resident of the Linlithgow Carehome - Cockleroy section, since September 2023. Suffering dementia and being immobile, the staff in the home have been outstanding tending to her needs and being a source of friendly support and advice to the family. Throughout this time the staff have been really warm, kind and supportive. This has been very comforting, especially in the last few days of my mothers life where she has been treated with a lot of respect and dignity.
Individual dignity entitlement and constant respect are in abundance day-to-day and week-to-week. The nurses and staff are approachable, caring, and responsive and work hard on emotional wellbeing proving and giving a high level of care. Thank you!
We are generally satisfied with the standard of care. The staff appear to be genuinely concerned about the residents and their comfort. We feel that the rooms look a bit tired and would benefit from a refresh and modernisation. Our main concern is the standard of food. There are occasions when the food is not age-appropriate and is not served at a constant temperature and does not represent value for money.
My sister seems to be happy and settled.
Both my parents have been residents in Linlithgow Care Home over the past three and a half years, so I have some experience of the establishment. In recent months, I have noticed a significant decline in the morale of the care staff. They regularly appear to be under pressure due to staff shortages, or having to 'train' inexperienced agency staff, resulting in some very experienced long-serving staff to leave. There is a sense of being undervalued and that they do not have the quality time they would like to spend with residents. I have also seen a significant decline in the quality of food in the home, both in terms of main meals but also tea and coffee breaks. I have raised concerns to the manager about poor nutrition. The carers and front-of-house staff are fantastic and do an amazing job. Please acknowledge this and make 'praise' rather than criticism the norm.
Staff are excellent, genuinely caring and treat everyone with dignity. Because of that, I would recommend the home to anyone. Staff go out of their way to take residents on outings and add homely touches. Overall, the home does the most important things about caring for my relative extremely well. I find the heating on the first floor oppressive. Some of my family, with their own health conditions, find it very difficult to visit because of the heat. My relative’s room is small, particularly with a wheelchair and walker in there. Laundry is frustrating at times, with delays if a machine breaks down and items go missing from time to time.
My mother recently became a resident. She has found it hard to settle in. The staff and management have gone out of their way to establish and support her needs. Our family are very appreciative of the care and support provided.
My uncle moved to Linlithgow Care Home in September 2023 after quite a traumatic few months. The staff made this experience so much easier for all of us, they were empathetic to everyone's needs, built confidence and showed infinite patience with my uncle whilst he adjusted to his new home. We visit almost daily and the consistency of the care is always of a high standard.
My relative was taken on an outing around the loch and she told us all about it and she was thoroughly amused by the whole event. The staff are always coming into her room and seeing if she is ok. They help her get her clothes together and she always looks good. She gets her hair done regularly and enjoys the attention, the rooms are always kept tidy and clean. And when you ask for something for our relative the staff always help. We as a family are pleased with the home and all the staff.
We are reassured that my mum is safe, secure and well looked after by friendly and caring staff. What could improve: A wider range of stimulating activities to support more abled residents. Improvements in information boards informing of activities noted/helpful. Food-We get a lot of complaints regarding bland/overcooked and lack of range of puddings.
I am very happy with my gran's care. I feel she has adapted well since her admission! And all the staff are very kind and caring! They make me and my sons feel very welcome whenever we visit! It was good to see my gran getting out and about, doing activities, she especially loved the summer fete! I would highly recommend this care home!
The care home is clean and tidy. Activities are arranged each day. The staff are often 'covering' or just started and not able to answer questions. I am going to contact the manager to discuss a few other issues, face-to-face.
My dad was accepted into a room last year following the death of my mum, his loving wife and carer. He was warmly welcomed by all the staff as were we. He settled into his new surroundings and seems to enjoy all aspects of the caring environment. All staff and residents appear happy and content everytime we visit. A big thank you to everyone.
My father is receiving first-class care in the Linlithgow Car Home. All the staff are kind and caring and very welcoming to all visitors. I was extremely anxious about placing him in a home however seeing how he is cared for on a daily basis and the interaction of staff with my father I feel happy and confident that he is in the best hands. The home itself is clean and tidy and the meals are all cooked on the premises from fresh produce. There is entertainment and various activities if my father wishes to join in with. There is always laughter and support when needed.
