View Full Details of Broomcroft House Care HomeWe moved our parents to Broomcroft in Jun 2025.The home is in a nice setting, surrounded by trees, with lovely garden and outside space. Its a really pleasant home to visit. Inside, the environment is clean, well organised and maintained. Style is contemporary, but homely, with designated spaces for clinical activity. Rooms are lovely with good quality furnishings, bed linen etc. Food always smells good, and can be eaten in the dining room or residents own room. Activities/entertainment are provided on a daily basis, and TV/Radio in communal areas is chosen to reflect resident age/interests. Supporting our parents to leave their beloved home and move them into permanent care has been a long and harrowing journey for us. However, finding Broomcroft has felt a safe harbour in our emotional storm. Staff have been welcoming, professional and caring. They have been really understanding and taken time to get to know our parents, and us as a family, which we are most grateful for. Thankyou.
Welcomed by caring professional staff. A little overwhelmed by all the different staff coloured uniforms and grades which I had not worked out by the end of my one week respite stay. Unable to go outside in my wheelchair which was unfortunate because of the time of year and the replacement of windows. Nothing was too much trouble for staff and enjoyable food was served regularly either in the dining room or your own room whichever you chose. Good to go home but would be happy to return for respite care if required in the future.
This was my husband's second respite visit to Broomcroft. Once again he settled well, has been very well cared for. He was disappointed the weather was not as warm as his visit in the summer as he loves the outdoor facilities! He said the food was good but portions too big - overfacing him. His room was smaller than previously which meant no room for a spare chair for visitors but that is only a minor grumble - otherwise very good. I have felt completely relaxed whilst he has been in care.
My husband settled well for his short respite stay of 10 days. So it was perfect.
My partner is looked after very well, with kindness and good humour. The staff are excellent, friendly and supportive and communication is good. The home is clean and the food looks nice! My partner seems contented and it is a comfort to know that he appears happy in a safe and caring environment.
My dad came into Broomcroft in March this year. He has settled well and the staff have been amazing with him. He can be awkward but nothing is too much for them. We often ring and they always give him the phone and keep us up to date with anything he needs. Would recommend to others.
My mum has settled into life at Broomcroft. She has enjoyed being outside during the hot weather, especially the ice creams! The outdoor space has also provided a good place to entertain visitors. Mum has enjoyed the food, a wide variety. The activities have been appropriate and good to participate in. The VE Day celebrations were a highlight. The staff could not have done more to give the residents a fun day.
My husband has just had his second respite stay at Broomcroft House Care Home. He was extremely well looked after - all staff are unfailingly positive, caring and efficient. The good and plentiful food and interesting activities (especially the singing group) all helped time to pass pleasantly. Thanks to all from us both.
Wonderful level of care and attention from beginning to end. The staff were always friendly and happy to talk things through no matter how busy they were. The end of life care, although short, was very attentive
I visit my wife three/four times weekly between the hours of 12:30-2:30, so the staff I come into contact with are regular contacts. They are, at all times, helpful and cheerful, reception and carers alike always have a cheerful word. I must give a special thank you to the "activities" carers who seem to go out of their way to ensure pleasant entertainment for patients and relatives alike. Many thanks.
Always greeted by friendly and helpful staff who all seem very caring and generous with their time in caring for my mother. She has been a resident for approximately six years and seen many staff come and go but the care has been consistent throughout. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Broomcroft House Care Home, it is, by far, an excellent nursing home.
On the evening/early morning of 14th/15th June, my brother managed to get out of bed and walk with his frame into the corridor - this is unheard of as he is unable to walk more than a step or two. He fell and banged his head. I was called at 2.15 am and on attending the home, found him in very capable and caring hands. Everything had been done in terms of his care and an ambulance had been called. The Broomcroft House Care Home team could not have done more for them. Fortunately, no long-term damage.
I have always found the carers always very helpful whenever.
As a respite resident, this is my fourth stay. I think 'fourth' explains what I think of Broomcroft House Care Home and all its staff. The carers (all the staff) are committed to looking after all the residents and will help them in any way they can, 24 hours a day. My room was more than adequate in size with plenty of storage and a nice, comfortable bed which is adjustable like a hospital bed. The food was excellent and the dining room is clean and very spacious, perfect for wheelchair users, in fact, all the care home is kept clean and tidy. I would have no problem in recommending Broomcroft to anyone for respite or long-term stays.
Very good, my son has been here nearly 3 years now.
The sense of comfort we felt knowing that our mum was being cared for in a safe and friendly atmosphere was overwhelming. We were able to relax knowing that she was in such good hands. Everyone bent over backwards to make her feel special.
My sister has been much happier since the new events coordinator started. There have been many more interactions for her and she is mixing more with the other residents which she has never done before as she is a sociable person it has given her much more stimulation. I have always found the staff at Broomcroft House very helpful and pleasant!
My elderly mother transferred to Broomcroft from another care home. Our immediate impression is of a facility that is calm, well-managed, and comfortable. Mum is treated with kindness, respect and professionalism. With its garden setting low noise levels and friendly staff, Broomcroft would be hard to beat.
My wife entered the care home in April 2023. She has dementia and suffered a stroke in Feb 2023 and cannot walk or use her left hand. I visit most days. My wife is usually very content; she has a nice room, the staff are kind and courteous, the food is good (I have had several lunches) and my wife is enjoying an increasing number of relevant activities - visiting entertainers, sing-along choirs and recently help with her painting. We are both very satisfied.
My mother spent her last 18 months in Broomcroft House, and I and the family have nothing but praise for the care she received during her stay there. She was so well looked after, especially towards the end when the staff treated her with the utmost respect and love when she was no longer able to do anything for herself. Her final days there were peaceful, and the whole family felt looked after, as well as Mum, during this sad time. The staff at Broomcroft are amazing people, very kind and thoughtful in all they do. I cannot thank them enough for making Mum's last months comfortable and filled with love.
