View Full Details of GreenacresThe team at Greenacres do a wonderful job in caring for, being a friend to and looking after Mum, enabling her to live with her dementia and for myself and my family to have much better quality time with her. From top to bottom, the team are so welcoming, so friendly, so kind, the food so good and the entertainment never ending that Mum is able to live a much better quality of life. Having lived in Meltham for over sixty years, it's also important for Mum to maintain the links into the local community and the team at Greenacres do just that, which I know is appreciated by Mum, as well as by our family.
The most important thing for me about a home is that my mother is happy and well cared for and at Greenacres she is. The staff are always friendly and treat my mother with both respect and kindness which has made her feel she belongs there. The food is always good, they have a choice at all meals and most importantly for mum a home made cake or pudding. All in all I have only good things to say about our experience and want to thank all the staff involved.
Greenacres's is a very friendly home. All the staff are welcoming , kind and professional. I am always kept updated on any issues mum has healthwise and feel she is getting excellent care. The home is very clean in all the communal areas and bedrooms. Always lot going on and the activities are interesting and varied. Mum joins in almost everything and is thriving and enjoying the company of people her own age. The activities organiser is amazing.
I can totally recommend Greenacres. My mother in law came to live here at the beginning of July. She has a lovely first floor room which is tastefully decorated and furnished. She brought her own settee with her. The room overlooks a beautiful garden where residents can sit and chat. Her room also has an en-suite wet room which is perfect. The staff are on the ball and are very helpful, kind and approachable. Nothing is too much trouble. The kitchen provides great food, and can be eaten in the residents own room or in the spacious dining room. So far cannot find fault with Greenacres. We have peace of mind knowing that she is safe and in very capable hands.
Always plenty of events, activities and trips residents can involve themselves in. Whenever i visit it is always nice and clean, and has a super positive atmosphere and lovely staff that create a welcoming environment.
My parents have been resident at Greenacres since June 2025. The carers are very kind and helpful, special thanks to one. The management have a very good understanding of all my parents needs, and are always very supportive. Special mentions and thanks for the front of house manager, the unit manager and the duty manager. The home provide many activities for the residents, very well organised by the activities lady. I am very happy with Greenacres and the care my parents are receiving.
As I live a good distance away I am unable to visit my brother regularly. On the occasions I have been able to visit Greenacres I have been most impressed by the excellent standard of care and kindness shown by staff towards him and other residents. Greenacres is well designed with lovely outside spaces to spend time with visitors. The building is modern, bright, safe and welcoming. I have regular telephone contact with staff who we always happy to update me on my brother's situation. When I visit I am relieved and re-assured that he is in the best possible place and beign cared for with dignity. I am grateful for all the care Greenacres offers and congratulate everyone involved for maintaining such high standards.
My Mum has been in Greenacres dementia unit for 2 years now and there has never been a time when we have had to question the standard of care she receives. From the personal care and medical care to comfort and food we cannot fault it. And there's always something going on by way of stimulation and entertainment.
Thank you is such an inadequate work to say for the last five and a half years of care you have all given to my mum I always knew she was cared for in the most amazing way possible until her death the compassion you showed at the end of her life will never be forgotten by all of us
This was our 93 year old parents first stay in respite care and they really enjoyed it. They were treated with respect, care and dignity during the three weeks they were there. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and for us, it meant that we had no worries whilst they were there knowing that they were being well looked after. It was such a success, that we are hoping to repeat the experience later on in the year!
Mum was in for a short visit - respite care. She was treated with dignity & respect & received excellent care. She wasn't keen on the activities but said so & was settled somewhere else as requested. The staff have all been brilliant so a very big thank you to all involved.
Mum moved, reluctantly, to Greenacres three years ago. Gradually, with the help of all the staff, she settled into a routine which reduced her anxiety and enables her to live comfortably and safely. The food is very good which is important to Mum. Our family feel so fortunate that Mum is well cared for at Greenacres. The staff are, without exception, kind and welcoming. Management and senior carers are professional and knowledgeable. Any (rare) concerns or questions which we have about Mum's care are always dealt with promptly and thoroughly. Greenacres work hard to maintain links with the local community and this is also something which we really appreciate.
Mum has been a resident of Greenacres for several years in the residential care unit. As a family we feel Mum is in a safe and supportive environment. Ladies have been continuous senior members of staff who we know we can contact and feel comfort in the honesty of replies. Mum has gone from Private to Local Authority funding which from our dealings with Greenacres was seamless. The possibility of having to move Mum was removed and the stress of this disappeared.
Management very supportive in helping new residents to settle in. Tackled teething problems effectively giving me confidence that loved one is safe and well cared for. Staff are all lovely altho often appear to be insufficient to give fast responses to calls (eg. toilet visits). Overall very happy. THANK YOU TEAM GREENACRES!!
Having visited the home at least once or twice weekly over the last 2 and a half years I have always found the staff friendly and management always respond promptly to my queries and requests. During January they tried very hard to make my friend happy, encouraging participation in many activities including a foot spa, quizzes, singsongs even letting her help on the reception area to help her feeling of lonliness. A very caring staff.
This was our first Christmas with mum being in Greenacres and we were really worried about how it would be! Happy to say they made Christmas very special for all the residents as they do all the time lots of activities and they include everyone! They all enjoy trips out and they even took mum and her friend to the pub! Such a special place we are lucky and mum is so happy there.
My mum and dad have both been settled at Greenacres since October 2024 and we've been really happy with the choice. The home is well maintained and always clean, tidy and there are a range of comfortable communal areas. The home is well run by a very competent management team and all the carers are wonderful. They go to great lengths to attend to the residents needs and everyone is treated with respect and kindness. I am particularly impressed with the thought and effort that goes into the additional activities that are planned throughout the week.
My Mum resided at Greenacres Care Home from May 2022 to January 2025, when she died of old age. The care Mum received during this time was exemplary - we could not have wished for a more supportive, nurturing and caring environment. Mum flourished at Greenacres - her health improved, her cognitive abilities improved, and she was much loved by all the staff. Thank you Greenacres for being such a fantastic care home.
Welcoming, friendly staff. Personalised care. The staff have got to know my Aunt and go out of their way to have a chat and a laugh with her. Freshly-prepared food, and beautiful care for her birthday in October. Varied activities; some providing links to the local community. Some decor (dining, lounge, carpet) and wallpaper could do with being replaced, otherwise a warm homely environment.
Positive in every respect. Pleasant and good-natured staff. Helpful at every turn. Comfortable room and excellent food.
