View Full Details of Caton House Residential and Nursing HomeFriendly, caring and knowledgeable staff. Flexible visiting hours. 5 star service over 5 years.
Caton House continues to display excellent standards of care & compassion. All due to the excellent staff. Mom is very happy and settled special thanks and mention to the excellent entertainment team.
I have always found that all staff are superb they are professional, polite and answer any questions in an understanding and sympathetic manner.
The staff are superb! They listen to our concerns and my friends too. Room is always smart, tidy and very clean - every visit! With their care, she is afe, support and well cared for. She always said she was never going into a care home but Caton House has proved her wrong. She really likes all the care and fuss.
I would like to thank all the taff for the family BBQ held on Saturday 16th August. The food and drink provided was very good and plentiful. The staff were very helpful and polite. I know my mum enjoyed the event and I am sure many other residents did too.
Had such a lovely lunch with my mother in law today. Her brother came to visit too, which she absolutely loved. One member of staff made the whole experience wonderful - he was so welcoming, took great care of us, and even sat down for a proper chat, which made it feel extra special.
I would like to call out one gentleman as a fantastic member of the Caton House team. We were looked after by him when we brought mum's brother to visit. I honestly feel my mother would be far less happy without his care and attention
The standards have got worse since I came here. The food has got worse. The nursing staff who are here are good but there are not enough of them. The cleaning staff have improved. Food is served on cold plates!
This review relates to the Day Centre not the Care Home. My wife has attended the Day Centre one or two times a week for over three years. Overall facilities and staff are good with room for improvement. The Day Centre struggles with attracting people to attend which is surprising in view of the lack of options locally. However the Local Authority do not tend to promote Caton House as they have there own Council run facility and this may be a factor. Caton House has recently had a new manager and there are signs of improvement so in fairness we should give them 3-6 months to see how things are then. The staff at the Day Centre are generally very friendly ,helpful and hard working.
Generally, a very good experience over the last two years. Care is great and all carers are polite, efficient and attentive. Always dealing with any problems. Food is probably the only problem for long term residents. More fresh fruit and salads needed!
Seems to be a pleasant care home. Staff are friendly and always busy. Our friend's care seems to be pretty good.
Staff are friendly but facility is under staffed, particularly at night when my Mother (who had cancer that had spread to the Liver, Bowel and Pancreas) was regularly forced to wait 30 minutes+ to go to the toilet, on one occasion I had to ask three times while I was there in the evening with her, in the latter stages before she passed away she was expected to go on a pad and they would clean her up but again this might be subject to a wait. When she did pass in the early hours of one morning and I was called back about an hour after I left, it was very clear that the apparent friendliness and sensitivity lasted only as long as the Resident was breathing and thus earning money for the Company. I was told in no uncertain terms that I had to get the room cleared within 24 hours or else the NHS would be presented with another bill, yes, not even 30 minutes had passed from my being shown my Mother's now lifeless body to being served that demand before promptly being shown the door.
The staff at Caton House are very well-trained and caring. They do a really good job looking after the residents' health and well being. Thanks to them, I feel confident that my mother is safe and in the best environment for her.
I visited my mother on Good Friday an Easter service had been arranged for the residents. The exceedingly pleasant carer in charge handed out hot cross buns and cups of tea beforehand, and then distributed typed sheets with the readings and hymns. A pianist had come in specially for the service. Although Mun is deaf, she sat in the room quite happily and enjoyed reading the order of service. The carers had gone to a lot of effort and showed the usual high standards of care and compassion I have come to expect from all who work at Caton House.
Caton House is very caring and the staff very helpful.
My mother's health has deteriorated recently and she has become bed-bound. I know she is receiving the care and support that she needs from the staff, and that she would not wish to be anywhere else.
Very pleasant atmosphere and staff are all excellent. We know Mum is very well looked after and staff are always happy to help with our queries. Having cake on arrival is always a bonus.
As far as I know whenever I ask for something to be done it was done, and its been easy to talk with the staff and carers.
Mum has been a resident for 13 months now. She settled in quickly, the team here are kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble. The leadership team are visible and available, one staff member in particular is a joy and another very supportive and kind. It seems wrong to single them out as all are great! Mum is very happy here. Food is great as are the activities.
My mother has been a resident at Caton House since December 2024, and I couldn't be happier with the care she receives. The staff are incredibly caring, helpful and friendly, always going above and beyond to ensure she is comfortable and well looked after. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it feel like a home rather than just a care facility. I highly recommend recommend Caton House to anyone looking for quality care for a loved one.
