The Oakleigh team have been very supportive throughout our journey when Dad needed to move to full time resident care. The communication has been excellent and we were guided every step, making a difficult time less challenging. Dad and our family have been made very welcome at Oakleigh. It has a lovely, calm atmosphere and a selection of planned activities to keep him busy.
Unfortunately my mother passed away on the 1st October, having spent 3 very happy years in Oakleigh. I cannot thank the staff enough for their care, dedication and commitment looking after Mum. Oakleigh is a happy and cheerful home
My father has been a resident at Oakleigh Care Home in Godstone for over two years, and I honestly can't praise the team highly enough. From the very beginning, they've shown not just professionalism, but genuine warmth and compassion that makes all the difference. When I visit, I often find my father asleep, but I always see the team checking in on him, making sure he's comfortable, well-fed, and given the opportunity to join in with activities - even though he rarely can now. That level of care and attention reassures us that he is treated with dignity and respect at every stage. It's never easy to watch a loved one decline, but knowing he is surrounded by such kindness and patience brings us enormous comfort. As a family, we are deeply grateful to everyone at Oakleigh. It truly is a special place, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the team there.
Since my mum moved into Oakleigh she has gone from strength to strength. She eats well and the chef is always around to speak to residents to make sure their dietary needs are met. She has gained weight which is marvellous .Yes it was daunting at first, but all the staff are lovely. Mum is partially sighted as well as having dementia, which can be very difficult to settle anywhere. The staff always include her in all activities such as singing and wine tasting. She loved it. They have managed to get her knitting again and the icing on the cake was her trip out with them. She hasn't stopped telling us all about it, and the ice cream she had. Any issues the Managers are always available to assist. I can't thank all the staff enough for making her feel part of such a lovely family.
My Dad has been a resident in Oakleigh for two and half weeks. His words today to describe the staff and care were 'top notch.' It's been an emotional adjustment for all of us, but especially my mum and my dad. The staff, from the excellent leadership team, to the daily care givers and all of the other team members have been kindhearted, supportive, flexible and generally 'top notch.' Dad's room is on the ground floor with a view out to the garden. One of the reasons that it works for him with his mobility and stability issues, is that it is modern, all on one level and has a wet room with grab rails and shower seat. Dad has been given aids such as an alarm mat on the floor and a grab rail on the bed, and his buzzer is always nearby. There is a GP who visits weekly, hairdresser and a chiropodist. As a family, we are hugely grateful to everyone at Oakleigh for their care, and keeping dad safe and would happily recommend to others.
Amazing care home manager goes above and beyond to help ! Food always looks nice and caring staff ! Thank you for caring for my Nan . Always friendly staff when we go and it's nice to see the residents have the option to do activities etc x
From the 1st day we felt this was a place where Mum would be safe and well cared for. Staff were friendly and responsive and always dealt with any questions or issues with courtesy and understanding. We asked if Mum could move floors and do more activities and this was granted to us. The home was always clean and Mum was well fed and all her needs catered for. I would have no hesitation recommending Oakleigh to others.
My mother is a resident at Oakleigh. She is very happy there and is well cared for. The staff are always friendly and professional and the home is always clean and well presented. A lot of effort is put into providing activities for the residents and there is a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.
The first few weeks for the carer who has to put their relative into a care home is a tough, emotional rollercoaster. The staff at Oakleigh were excellent at "holding-my-hand" during those initial weeks. When I visit my mum, the staff make me feel very welcome and at ease. I really feel they know and meet my mum's individual needs.
Oakleigh in my opinion is a great Care Hime it is welcoming, homely and spotlessly clean. Whenever I visit my mum has care staff with her or in sight, and I have no worries regarding her health and wellbeing living here. Food always looks delicious, staff are dedicated.
My dad had been at Oakleigh from July 2023 until November 2024 where he sadly passed away but he was so happy at Oakleigh and the staff loved him. My dad absolutely loved the staff and I can only say that the respect they showed him made me proud. They treated him so well and he loved it there. It seems sad to me that I will not be going there every week now but I can say that they deserve a very high ranking with care homes as experience has shown that they are not all the same and Oakleigh must be rated high.
All staff have treated my nan with nothing but dignity, kindness and amazing care. The home manager is brilliant and as with all the staff always helpful and keeps me updated with Nan's health and needs couldn't ask for a better place. my grandad was also here and his end-of-life care was impeccable as a family made it as easy for us to be with him whenever we wanted.
After 6 weeks at Oakleigh, we took the difficult decision to move mum to another care home in the area. We didn't feel her needs were being fully met and there didn't seem to be a willingness to take on board and act on concerns we raised.
I have been visiting Oakleigh Care Home for a few years now visiting my gran who lives there. I am always so happy to see how well she is looked after, all the staff at Oakleigh are always so supportive and helpful. Especially one staff member in particular who is always smiling and goes above and beyond. And another who is always extremely helpful and professional. Thank you Oakleigh.
My sister and l have visited our brother at the care home and are very impressed with the care your staff give to the residents there. I cannot recommend this home more, they are so kind and caring, always ask if we would like tea or coffee when we visit, have lots of kind words and are always there to talk through the care he is receiving. Thank you all so much.
My mother has been a resident at Oakleigh for just over two years. I visit normally twice a week. The property is always clean and welcoming, and the staff are always focused and delightful, clearly liked by my mother and affording first-class support. I have recent experience with two other care/nursing homes in the area, and Oakleigh is by far the superior facility.
Oakleigh Care Home was able, at very short notice, to provide emergency respite care for two weeks for my mother. They made her feel welcome and looked after her really well. All the staff are helpful, polite and smiley. They do a range of activities for all abilities. I was always made to feel welcome when I visited the home.
My brother has been a resident in Oakleigh since July 2023 and we have found the staff very friendly and caring and happy to discuss and resolve any queries. We are very pleased that we found Oakleigh and would definitely recommend this care home to anyone in the same circumstances.
This care home is fantastic. The care, patience, and never-ending interest in all the residents regardless of the different challenges they all provide, as shown by all the staff in every position I find just astonishing. My father has been a resident for 6 months now and I have not had one single doubt in all that time that luckily I found the best care home for him. There always are events to keep the weeks from becoming dull, the recent annual fete was so well organised and carried off. Hats off to Oakleigh and everyone working there, it really is a quite amazing place.
My husband has been with Oakleigh for 16 months now with Dementia. My experience has been really good. They always take the time to talk to you. My husband is always in a good state, bathed regularly, and his clothes and bedding are always clean. No smells anywhere. His floor is cleaned everywhere daily. The food always looks lovely. He is happy generally, and if he isn't, they speak to me and arrange outside help regarding his medication if necessary.
