View Full Details of Whittingham HouseGenerally very good and homely. Sometimes there seems to be a lack of staff upstairs.
I have always found all staff to be courteous and helpful. The catering at Whittingham House is excellent and the communal areas are clean, well decorated and spacious. The outside space at the front and to the rear is very pleasant and my brother likes to sit in the rear garden and read his book. The manager always keeps me fully informed of any issues and I feel confident that my brother is being well cared for. I would have given 5 stars but when we looked for a care home, one of the reasons we chose Whittingham House was because the website stated that residents are able to go out to the seafront etc. in the minibus. I have raised this issue in the past and I was told that the minibus was out of action due to mechanical failure. I also raised the issue at one of the residents meetings and was told that Head Office were looking into it. That was the last I heard and as far as I am aware the minibus has still not been repaired. All in all a very good care home.
My partner is happy here which gives me peace of mind and always dressed okay. The staff are lovely always asked if I want a drink when I arrive.
The care my mother received was excellent, the carers were all lovely people. The food was obviously good mum didn't complain once in 3 years about food. During her last days the care she received from the home staff was excellent and compassionate. The reason I didn't give 5 stars was the cost of the home.I was told I had to pay a huge bill each month to subsidise all the council patients. This is totally unfair. I would and have recommended the home to friends.
I'll like to thank the staff for the care and hard work that they put in everyday to make the residents feel at home. Our brother seems content to be at the care home and as a family it's comforting to know that our brother is being taken good care of. Never a boring moment because of the various activities that the staff engage with the residents. The smile on their faces, say it all. Thanks for the priceless feedbacks of pictures and video clips of our brother.
The care provided by home is first class. I am kept informed promptly of any problems by the staff. I am welcomed by all of the staff when I visit and it is clear that contact between my sister in law and the staff is very friendly.
We feel Whittingham House is safe and secure, and the care taken by all the staff to ensure all residents and relatives feel confident everyone is in safe hands. The leaders are very efficient and professional. Questions and requests are answered quickly and effectively. Their door is always open to relatives, and they are always visible and approachable. We feel all the staff are very caring, kind, attentive, helpful, hardworking, considerate and friendly. They perform all their duties in a professional and effective way. They are extremely helpful and approachable to all the relatives, ensuring we are well looked after. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We are kept informed on our relatives wellbeing. The thoughtful and engaging activities are hugely beneficial. We are very regular visitors and from that gain an extremely positive impression of how Whittingham House is run. We are very happy Mum is there, and we would definitely recommend Whittingham House to other families.
My mother has been a resident here for 2.5 yrs. The new senior management team have been an absolute delight to work with, highly proactive and nothing is too much trouble. I feel confident that my mother is under the best care. Likewise, their staff provide the utmost care and support and I have high respect and regard for their loyalty and ongoing hardwork provided within this sector. I would not hesitate recommending Whittingham House Care Home to others. PS - One small thing. It would be most helpful if it was compulsory for all staff to wear a name badge so we are able to identify and share special praise with Management.
Staff always friendly towards me when I'm there visiting my mother. Good atmosphere in the home and cleaning aways taking place. The staff do join in with the activities especially the music ones and party's/events that the home do. My mum is a private resident and has to pay for her keep there. The charges per week are really too much, so expensive. She doesn't get any different treatment from the other residents either.
Whittingham House look after my dad with love and care. He enjoys staying here and he is at home. They have a lovely way that they treat and deal with Dad and cannot do enough for him and us as a family. Always so welcoming, and the communication is fantastic, with lots for dad to be able to join in with. Thanks for all you do x
I was dreading putting my mum in a home but due to her complex needs I could no longer put it off. The staff and care provided at Whittingham House are exceptional. They try really hard to give mum the care and attention she needs and the social life is fantastic from karaoke to bingo to regular themed parties. Mum is so happy here I wish I'd moved her a lot earlier.
Myself and my sister really like the home, it is really and clean well maintained and the care is exceptional. They keep us informed of any change in our family member. We also like the events that are put on, everyone seems to enjoy working there.
My cousin was helped to settle in comfortably and to get involved with the varied activities. Although her mobility and her abilities are now limited she is encouraged and supported sympathetically to join in and she obviously enjoys it. She is relaxed and content and happy now after having had a difficult time before she came to the care home. It is very reassuring that she is known as a person and is not just a number 'to be processed'. Her visitors are always made to feel welcome and they are impressed by the kindness which the staff show to the residents.
I cannot praise enough the care my Nan receives at Whittingham House. The workers are so kind, caring and supportive towards the residents. The facilities are communal spaces provide everything necessary to ensure the residents are comfortable and engaged. They have an excellent entertainment program - from therapy dog visits to chair yoga, to craft sessions, to karaoke. In addition they also arrange plenty of opportunities for family members to get involved eg Easter party, Mother's Day tea party, summer bbq. My Nan is extremely happy at Whittingham House- in her words it has given her a new purpose. She is always smiling and happy - they take such good care of her
My M-I-L received excellent care during her time at Whittingham House. All staff were courteous and treated her with kindness, care and respect. The home was very clean and in all the areas we used we never had to raise any concerns; it was spotless! We knew she was safe and had access to a G.P. whenever necessary. Cannot thank all of the staff enough for their care. They are an amazing team.
My mum was recently a resident but sadly passed away. Whilst Mum was in their care she was looked after to the highest of standards. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Mum was always clean, tidy, well-fed, and observered at all times. The staff were always very friendly and constantly updating us on Mum's condition. They always made our visits comfortable with plenty of tea and biscuits. We would like to thank all at the home for making Mum's last weeks comfortable.
My mother went in for a short stay. She enjoyed it so much, she didn't want to leave. Staff at all levels were extremely caring, kind and respectful. They all greeted you with warmth and friendliness. The food at the BBQ was absolutely delicious!
Today has been very enjoyable. A very friendly atmosphere. Party atmosphere.
The care my mum has is 100%. They continue to look out for her. Encourage her to come out of her room which is lovely to see truly. Dignity and respect always important and they keep us as a family fully informed of any issues. Mum loves it at Whittingham which makes us very happy.
The food was amazing, it honestly was so good, with enough drink and food for everyone. The raffle was set up really well. The singer was brilliant. And the staff were brilliant, honestly was a great day. Thank you, my mum really enjoyed herself.
