Southminster Residential Home were able to accommodate my Mother at very short notice, following an assessment that took place while my Mother was in a previous Home for Respite Care. Unfortunately there were some issues with the Home and we needed to move my Mother quickly. The manager at
Southminster Residential Home made arrangements immediately for my very elderly unwell Mother (dementia). A room was prepared for her within a very short space of time, the staff helped my Mother from the car with great care and kindness. She needed to be washed and changed. There was warm homemade soup for her and she was soon clean, comfortable and safely in bed. We left for home with such relief, knowing Mum was safe, comfortable and asleep. The atmosphere in the Home is warm and friendly, a family, the residents appear happy and comfortable. The staff are lovely and the Home is efficient and professional. The building has been thoughtfully decorated with lots of homely touches. Highly recommend.

My uncle moved from Suffolk to Essex and I looked up this care home and was also recommended this care home, my sister and I visited the home and was shown around and it had a lovely light bright atmosphere, neither my uncle nor myself were disappointed.
There was easy access for my uncle who was
more or less bedbound. And was wheelchair bound.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. His room, we were allowed to decorate with his sentimental bits and pieces and he was very happy there.
The food was good in fact he gained weight, which was a good thing. Occasionally I would find him in the lounge area watching TV with other people which was encouraging, as he was quite a loner in life, my uncle was 93 and I can say honestly that he had the best care and attention that I would have liked for him.

After visiting Southminster Residential Home recently, I must say how impressed I was with the standard of care and the attitude of the care staff and management. Having worked in the care sector myself, I understand how important good care is to relatives and those who use the service. It's truly
comforting to know that the people in this home are cared for with such dedication, compassion, and respect.

Had a problem with the previous home my Aunt was in, Southminster Residential Home stepped in on my request. We moved here, within 24hrs, she's settled into a new, clean & friendly home. The staff cannot do enough for her & for the first time in a while her personal hygiene is spot on. Would
recommend this home 100%. They were my Aunt's & my saviours, well done Southminster Residential Home. Ten out of ten.

My mum had a fall and was advised to go on urgent respite care, this was quite late in the day and after contacting the manager my mum was assessed and a room ready for her within the hour. The staff have been great and we are so happy with the care my mum is receiving whilst on her stay.

The excellent, caring staff at the Southminster Residential Home not only provide care to my mother, but also support to myself as I make visits from abroad every few months. I have never observed anything but kindness from each staff member to the residents.
My elderly mother is in the best
possible place for her final years, and I am grateful that I do not have to worry about her wellbeing while I am so far away.

Unfortunately my mother-in-law had got to the stage ,that we needed a care home quick . With no support from the hospital we contacted the manager at Southminster residential care. Although late she accepted the call and attended the next day at our mother's home for an assessment . . Within 3
hours she had arranged a room for her . On arrival everything was done ,so efficiently ,we were met by a number of staff all so friendly and professional. Everything was thoroughly explained about the care she would receive and our views were fully considered . Once mum was settled we were constantly checked on and asked if we had any thing we needed to know . We left knowing mum was safe and was going to be looked after ,so good exactly what was needed , we needed help and got it thankyou

My mother and father are both in Southminster care home and both are very happy with the care that they receive and I to am pleased with the loving care all staff give to all the residents there, they are part of the family and made to feel that way. All the staff are well trained and always ready
for anything, I'm so reassured when leaving them after a visit.
The manager and her team keep me updated (phone or email) on anything I may need to know or they need to know, I feel part of there team too. Entertainment in all aspects is always going on from game's singers to visitors bringing dogs flower shows, garden fates, the list is endless.

Southminster Residential Home is an amazing place. So clean and the staff are compassionate and very patient.
My father spent the last 18 months of his life at the home and despite his dementia which meant that he was a real challenge for them, he was cared for with dignity and kindness.

highly recommend them.

My Mum was at Southminster Residential Home for just over a month until she passed away. I cannot fault the home. The staff and management were so caring, supportive and went over and above in all aspects of their work. The feel of the place is home from home, like an extended family. Many of the
staff have been there years, which speaks volumes. I am so pleased she was there for her final days. I would highly recommend.

The end-of-life care my mother received was exceptional. The excellent staff would regularly check on my mother and monitor her food and fluid intake. They did everything to make my mother comfortable. Very friendly staff and, management were honest and upfront.

My sister-in-law spent the last three years of her life in the caring surrounds of Southminster Residential Home. We could not have chosen a better place for her.
The manager and all her staff are professional and friendly, providing a comfortable, family atmosphere within a safe and
well-organised environment. We cannot recommend the home too highly.

My dad required respite care after hospital care following a fall at home, this being one of many in the last 5 months. A previous respite care period in a different care home helped enable a comparison to be made.
both care homes provided a safe clean environment and have/are looking after his
needs. Southminster excels in my view in so many ways, the home is spotlessly clean, the staff go above and beyond, Dad likes the environment and the food is excellent, it is just about as close to being in his own home as can be. Approaching the end of Dad's respite care period it looks like he will require permanent care and I have no hesitation in continuing this at Southminster.

Our mother was a resident at the home for over seven years until she passed just after Christmas 2023. The quality of care she received from the dedicated staff under the manager's efficient management was first-class throughout her stay. The staff are consistently friendly, understanding and
sympathetic, ensuring Mother was as comfortable as possible throughout her long period of residence.
We are grateful to the manager and her staff, past and present, and are very happy to recommend this home to others.

My mum has only just moved in, but already, she is happy, clean and well looked after. Doctor visits once a week, and you can always raise your concerns, and they will always be heard. The food and snacks are amazing. The staff are always there, and nothing is too much trouble.
