View Full Details of Seymour HouseWhat you want from a care home is care, and I see this woven through the fabric of Seymour House. The staff are kind, friendly and respectful. The feel of the place is warm and nurturing, and the focus is on the word "home" more than business. The food is delicious (and abundant!) and the surroundings are simple and pleasant, with a well kept spacious garden. My dad was appropriately reluctant to go into a home, but his health has improved since being in Seymour House as he is so well supported. I would happily recommend this home to anyone whose relative's are facing this time of their life.
I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all the amazing team at Seymour house who take very good care of my father who sufferers with dementia and tremors. The team make us feel so welcome when we come to visit dad and go above and beyond for family birthdays when we come and have a meal with dad the team had baked a cake for mum's birthday which went down very well. Many thanks
Mum is looked after well. She is content there and as happy as could be expected with her dementia. It is clean and well kept. The food is of high standard. The carers a all lovely as are the other staff.
Mu husband could not be in a better home. All the staff are so caring and treat him with respect. He is well looked after, the food is amazing and always delicious. If I ever get to the point of needing to go into care, this would be my first choice.
Very pleasant with nice carers always happy to help. The rooms are basic but functional. A lot of effort goes into activities but isn't always supported. Generally the food is good, Christmas was lovely at Seymour House the staff made a big effort. I do think that a minority of staff say no when actually it should be yes but can't be bothered. But overall good.
What has happened to 'Happy Seymour House'. What has changed so much in the past 4/6 months. Staff morale is at an all-time low. Residents' favourites have left, lots of new staff coming and going. It's not the happy, jolly place it was. Residents loved to meet in the hall and see all the coming and goings now all the chairs have gone. The activities have moved again, segregating residents. There is no one in the dining room which used to be the hub of activity. While the care still is amazing things have changed and certainly not for the better. Put Seymour House back to the happy place it once was please.
I just want to say a big thank you to all the staff who continue to look after my mum to a very high standard. The team are well established and are professional, approachable and takes all queries very seriously. They aim to please at all times and I am so glad that they get where I am coming from. Basically, my mum is my best friend and you just want the very best outcomes for that person. Cannot fault this place.
Management is always helpful and friendly and clearly has a good relationship with residents. Care staff and cleaning/support staff are all excellent, always smiling and respectful of residents. The lady in charge of activities is tireless and engages the residents. Overall, the atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and residents seem happy. Thank you.
Since the first day of my father moving into Seymour House, I have been impressed with the standard of care provided for him. I still have the photos I took of him on arrival, looking scared and confused. He was shown his room and welcomed with a cup of tea and sandwiches, despite it being late. Now, he is more relaxed and confident, despite his worsening dementia. Staff are more like friends/extended family. He is always happy to return to Seymour House after a day out with family. I can't praise the staff enough!
Mum has been very happy whilst she has been at Seymour House. The staff are very friendly and have looked after her very well. She has been on several trips and enjoyed them immensely.
Since my mother was admitted to Seymour House in July 2022, the family have been very happy with the care she has received and the environment she has settled into. Of particular note is the quality of staff, especially the activities team, who definitely go the extra mile.
What a lovely view. Always helpful, kind and understanding both with residents and visitors. Had a lovely afternoon with my dad say in the garden with lots of others.
Ok - good meals. Comfortable atmosphere.
There is nothing that I do not like about anything; everyone is so kind and considerate. I am very happy here.
The staff are very kind to my husband and myself, always there when needed. They go out of their way to make sure I am ok when I visit my husband.
The social care sector has a lot of challenges, including many years of under-investment. Seymour House has done an astonishing job providing compassionate care for my father. I cannot praise them highly enough. Very well done, and thank you.
Care and kindness are exemplary. Even though my mother was there for such a short time, she loved the experience of being part of something again.
My mother was extremely happy with everything at Seymour House; she enjoyed the activities and the social side. Everyone was very friendly. Staff were always around to let you know what she had been doing and if you needed to ask any questions.
I like living here, I feel safe.
Excellent. Superb staff. Got Mum back to herself after post-operation. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.
