View Full Details of Frith HousePleased with the care and concern my husband recieved.
Following my recent visits to my dad, I have to share my deepest appreciation for all the carers and staff at Frith House. My dad was admitted about 3 years ago and has been facing the challenges of dementia for longer than that. As his condition has gradually deteriorated to the point of non-recognition of family, I am hugely impressed with the carers' professionalism and compassion as they help him through a tough journey; they are as much in tune with his psycho-emotional needs as with his physical comfort and safety. His balance and mobility are decreasing, and excellent (but subtle) measures have been put in place to minimise the risk of falling -- I see he is truly safe. Living outside the country, things can logistically be complicated, but again with the assistance of technology, the carers hep me communicate with my dad and let him know we are thinking of him. Huge 'thank you's to the wonderful and beautifully diverse carers and staff of Frith House!
We are very pleased with the level of care our Mum is receiving. The caring team are always attentive and interacts with Mum well. Most important of all, Mum is happy and settled in her environment. The manager is always available and very approachable. Receptionists are welcoming and friendly. This is much better than the old system of having to wait for someone to answer the doorbell.
Mike, my brother has Vascular Dementia and Alzheimers he has been at Frith House for over 5 years. He receives excellent care from very patient and considerate staff. Like many suffering from those illnesses he gets confused, disorientated and sometimes aggressive, the staff cope with all this so in his more lucid periods he is grateful to them and content.
We were very satisfied with your care for my husband during his two year plus stay with you. All the staff are very kind and friendly towards us (family) and hubby.
My mother has been a resident of Frith House for the last 6 months and is totally settled in there. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and thoughtful. Communication with family members is excellent, and visitors are made to feel very welcome at any time. It is lovely to be able to take mum out in the wheelchair and walk along the seafront. I really can't fault anything. Thank you!
The staff are very helpful and polite, the home is very clean and gives a bright and cheerful look to the rooms, the dining areas are neatly laid out and again very clean. The staff are always helpful and polite, and will go out of there way to make sure any issues are dealt with professionally. Although haven't tried the meals personalty they always look very tasty and delicious. Before putting my mother in here I took the time to have a look at other homes in the area, and Frith house was by far the best option, its not cheap in fact it is quiet expensive but then sometimes the cost is not always the deciding factor, and my mother seems very happy and comfortable here, and that is the deciding factor.
Mums dementia had deteriorated and we needed to find a care home locally, that was secure, safe and provided excellent care. After looking at several homes, we were fortunate to find Frith House, with an outstanding CQC report and meeting the extremely high standards of care and environment that we wanted for Mum. She has settled so well and the staff are amazing, caring and attentive. She has integrated well and is happy. She takes part in activities and is enjoying the home cooked meals and is thriving. The resident is at the centre of the care planning, and everything possible is done to ensure mums needs are met. She is treated with dignity and respect and the care standards are extremely high. Staff are also tuned in to the needs of the family and did everything they could to make the transition into residential care as easy as possible for the family and mum. We were consulted about all aspects mums care planning, and communication with the family if issues arise is excellent.
I would like to thank all the staff at Frith House from carers to management. Everyone is so kind and caring helping my mum settle into life within the care home.
Sadly our experiences of Frith House were far from 'outstanding', despite the CQC report which was last carried out in July 2021. On the surface this home looks great, but... Our father was resident here until recently, self-funding. On several occasions we raised concerns about his hygiene and health, but felt they were 'brushed aside' making us feel like we were being neurotic. We eventually involved CQC. The last straw was when we observed Dad's medication left on a tray and was about to be taken away again (without being administered to him). We wonder, had we not seen this, how many other incidents were missed? In the 2 weeks that Dad has been in his new home, they've identified his aggression/challenging behaviour as sundowning, involved mental health, and changed his medication which seems to have really helped. This approach was never discussed with us by Frith House, who took the money each month, but eventually said they were unable to meet his needs.
My mum lived alone with dementia and could no longer be safe at home. She was really nervous about coming into the care home but now says she wished she had not been so stubborn and come in earlier. She absolutely loves her room and the staff making a fuss of her. She is eating better as meals are prepared for her. At home, all she did was sit in a chair and sleep. Since being at Frith House she has enjoyed the singers that have been in, played Skittles, and bingo, made cakes, done arts and crafts and played with Nerf Guns. She is so much happier.
Caring staff. Activities most days. Clean and a home-from-home.
Mum had wonderful care throughout her time at Frith House. Her dementia needs were met at all times and we felt very confident about her care. Her room was light and bright and always clean. During Mum's final days, care was given with great dignity and the support to us was extremely caring and kind. We would be happy to recommend Frith House, a lovely place, well-run and with a brilliant team of hardworking staff.
My husband was admitted to Frith House in the middle of the Covid lockdown - February 21. He had been assessed at home by the social worker. Our request - residential home - we were advised we would not be able to cope with him. She advised a residential home in Burnham on Sea would suit him better. We had to leave him at the door and hope for the best! Once Covid was over, we were always able to visit and were impressed with our welcome and the overall standard of all-around care. He had so much loving care and passed away on September 3rd 2023.
I want to thank everyone at Frith House for taking care of my mother when she came in for 2 weeks respite. She tells me that you were truly wonderful, and the food was lovely! And from what she has told me...I can't disagree. I am convinced that she would have ended up in hospital if she hadn't come to you, following a fall. But apart from the direct care she received, I want to thank you for getting the medication she needed. I had tried for 2 months to get the GP to talk to me. You resolved the problem within a few days. Including the necessary ongoing repeat medication. Now she is back home doing all her normal things including gardening, which she loves. So truly a heartfelt thank you from both of us.
My mother moved into Frith House 9 months ago after her previous care home closed down. I wish she had been in here from the start, as Frith House is far superior in terms of the care that my mother gets and the facilities are superb. Every member of the staff is so caring and attentive to the residents and treat them as though they were one of their own family. Mom has come on in leaps and bounds since moving here and is much happier and healthier. I cannot praise this home highly enough and would recommend to anyone looking for a first class care home to look no further than Frith House. The facilities are great, staff encourage the residents to get involved in activities throughout the day and are genuinely there for the benefit of the residents. First class Frith House, keep up the good work. From a very grateful son of one of your residents.
My mother has recently moved to Frith House and found the initial adjustment hard. However, she has been treated with nothing but kind consideration and the care she is receiving is excellent. We very much appreciate being able to visit at any time which allows us to pop in often around all other commitments, the staff are to be commended for their professionalism and empathy.
Firth House, from the beginning, have been extremely understanding and caring. All the staff are lovely, and you can tell they enjoy working at Frith. As a visitor, we feel welcomed, and the care home has a happy, homely feel. My dad has settled well and says he's happy and cared for here.
My husband enjoyed his stay. He liked the cat, but a shame the bird feeders were not filled, as he would have enjoyed watching them from window. The staff were friendly. He liked the food.
The carers are always very helpful and take very good care of mother. The only criticism we have is the phone is sometimes not answered and when it is there is a problem transferring the call to the wing where mum's room is. My sister and I agree on all points.
